Our trip to Disneyland started on the afternoon of Sunday April the 22nd. This is our first trip back here since March of 2006, which we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. We had a five day park hoper ticket with Maxpass. I highly recommend Maxpass for the fastpass feature and the pictures. We were able to see and do so much with ease.

We stayed for five nights across the street at the Courtyard. Which was very nice and roomy. Since it was just my wife and I, we didn’t mind the walk (6 mins). Plus since I used points for the stay the room was free. When we checked in we were given a Disneyland Resort View, perfect view of the Monorail, Matterhorn and Space Mountain. It almost felt I was staying on property at WDW.

When we walked over at 4:00, the security line was about 15 mins long. It was Dapper Day. Then another 10 minutes to get into the gate. We came a day early since I found out that Pirates was closing. Which was fine, I just added another day to our ticket. Plus I was able to score a reservation at the Blue Bayou for 7:30 for Fanstamic Dinning Package. The first ride we rode was Nemo. Then Matterhorn by standby, while we waited for our fastpass to be ready of the other side of Matterhorn. We headed over to ride Pirates, and to say goodbye to the Red Head. At the Blue Bayou for dinner, I didn’t ask for a table by the water they just gave it to me. She had the ribeye (which I had to help finish), I had the surf and turf. Both were good. While eating deserts they brought out the seat cushions for the show. So right after dinner we headed over, sat right on top of the man hole cover which was direct center. We did not stay to watch the fireworks after the show, we had a fastpass for Indy.

We arrived at the security at about 8:25, went thru the no bag line. When the turnstiles opened at DL, I noticed people scanning and leaving right away. I began to wonder, were they scanning in to activate their ticket for Maxpass for CA to ride RSR. Sure enough they did. I tried it the next day and it works. I got a fastpass for RSR for 10:30, at 8:45 in the morning by going through the turnstiles at DL and CA didn’t even open till 10:00 am. Walked over to the Adventureland Rope for the drop to go to Indy, I love that ride. Monday, we had lunch reservations for Carnation Café. I wanted to go since they were serving the Fredrickson TV dinner special for Pixar Fest. I highly recommend this, it was good and filling. The apple pure that came with the pork chop was so good. The afternoon we went to Trader Sams, had a few drinks for happy hour then headed back. Plus that night I stood in the front of the castle to watch the new fireworks show, which was amazing to say at least. When Buzz came flying in, the Up House, to the flames during the Toy Story seen. As soon as it ended I knew I had to watch it again.

Tuesday was our CA day. This was also the day when the FAA came to the park, it was crowded after 4 pm. Everything had bad lines, heck I even saw a line for the women’s bathrooms. That night I booked the Sonoma Terrance Paint the night Package. I can tell you this right now, save your money. The meat and cheese plate was just ok. You can only get two drinks from the bar. It just isn’t put together that well. Plus when the show ends, it takes another 20 mins to get to the front of the park cause the crowds are all leaving at the same time.

Wed and Thursday were just normal park days. Lines not too bad, was able to get many fast passes for the rides I wanted to ride at both parks. Heck at one time I had four fast passes at one time. Sometimes you would get the multi experience fastpass when a ride went down. On Thursday we did have lunch reservations at the Café Orleans. I wanted to have the Shrimp Ratatouille with cheese board. It was good but I still left hungry. That was still with an order or the fries. The shape shifter corn dog at Corn Dog Castle at CA was very good as well.

Biggest take away, MAXPASS made things easy. The Courtyard is very nice. Security lines are long. Get a locker it’s so easy to put your jacket in, and go back in the afternoon to get it. Carsland stays busy all day long, still after 5 years. I found the crowds to be manageable during the week.

If there are any questions please let me know, or pictures you want to see!

I think Racers will always be a popular ride. It will be the hottest FP ticket at the Resort until Star Wars opens and will remain the busiest ride at DCA until they come out with something awesome for Marvel, and even that might not work. Racers is family friendly, well themed, and includes a thrill aspect. It's hard to beat that.
