Disneyland Forever Fireworks Viewing

I'm planning for my family's upcoming trip (February 28th-March 4th). We have two nights set aside to see the Paint the Night parade (which we saw during the Halloween party in October) and the Disneyland Forever Fireworks. This will be our first time to see the new fireworks show and I am wondering if we should plan on watching both nights from Main Street, or if we should do one night from Main Street and the other near IASW.

I think watching from IASW would give us more time for rides etc, as I don't think that space will fill up nearly as quickly. Is it worthwhile to watch both nights from Main Street for the superior view/projections, or would you watch one night from each location?

Also, I'm planning on about 1 hr 30 min to find a good spot from Main Street (hopefully on the curb). Is this a realistic amount of time? How much time would be needed to find a good spot near IASW?

Thanks for any opinions/advice!

I would keep in mind that fireworks can get cancelled - so your first opportunity to watch them, do it from the spot you most want to watch it from - then if you have another night to watch them you can move if you wish a different perspective. The good thing is the days you are there Fireworks are scheduled to run every night so you should be able to see them at least a couple of times.

I have no idea on how much time you need as this will be our first time visiting since the new Fireworks and Parade. We will be there around the same time - Feb 26-March 5.

I would say an hour and a half - two hours sounds good for a curb seat on a Friday or Saturday night. You can kind of get a feel by taking a quick stroll down Main Street and see if its time to grab a spot or hit one more ride.
I think the fireworks are amazing but I don't know if I had limited time if I would see them twice in one trip.
especially if the second time I saw them was at the less impressive IASW area.

A strategy that worked really well for my family back in September was really great for watching Fireworks on Main Street. We hung out inside the stores during the first parade (there were 2 that night), and as soon as the last float went by, spilled out onto the street for a view of the Fireworks. Didn't have to wait forever, had something to do, etc.

I think we're going to try this next month. In July, we saw the fireworks from the left side one night, so couldn't see most of the fw but had a good view of the castle/projections and tink/nemo/matterhorn. The second time we saw them at ROA after our BB Fantasmic show. Fireworks are one of my favorite parts of DL and I really want a prime viewing spot this time. We will either wait or try this next time!

May I interject with a similar but slightly different question? We are going to DL for the first time and only have one day (sadness!) My DH really wants to do the Paint the Night dinner package at Blue Bayou and I really want to see the fireworks with all of their glory in front of the castle. I've heard it's probably not possible to do both, is this correct? Which would you recommend if it isn't possible to do both?

The Blue Bayou reserved seating area for PTN is on Main Street, about halfway down. After the parade, you would spill out into the street for the fireworks. You may not be able to see all of the castle because of people in front of you, but you will have a great view of them (assuming they go off- they were canceled like 4 days in a row last week).
