Disneyland Food: If you could only pick one meal/item?

Those of you who followed my previous Club 33 thread know that I will be taking a trip to Disneyland in the future. Obviously, as would be for any Disney fan, C33 will be the highlight (fingers crossed it still happens). But aside from that, I'm curious what everyone else things about the other food options there. We'll be there for enough time to try a few places, and even after reading all the food threads, researching, etc, I still don't know what the best options are (well, there are plenty, I know that).

So this question is essentially, if you could pick only "one" thing to eat, what would it be. I look forward to the answers and trying some. Of course, in this case "one" is pretty loosely interpreted. Maybe you have one snack item, or one quick service or table service you can't miss.

So what say you?

The three cheese Monte Cristo and Pomme Frites from Cafe Orleans. Hands down my family's favorite meal in the resort!!!

For meals its a toss up between the fried chicken dinner at Plaza Inn and the fried green tomato sandwich at Hungry Bear as our current can't miss meals. That could change after I finally get to try the Monte Cristo. If I had to chose just one then its the fried chicken at Plaza Inn.

My ones...

Appetizer: Carthay Circle House Biscuits
Side: Pomme Frites (Cafe Orleans)
Entree: Shrimp and Grits (Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen)
Dessert: Cupcake (Jolly Holiday or French Market)
Drink: Pineapple Dole Whip Float (Tiki Bird Bar)
Snack: Popcorn

Wow that's difficult!

I LOVE the corn chowder at Storyteller's Cafe, but I may go with the Monte Cristo as well, and if I can pick a dessert too, then definitely a Dole Whip!

We started a tradition that we kick off our visit each year with a Beignet and Mint Julep, we love it, and never miss it! Mmmm... Oh man, I can't wait now, one week!!!

Oooh! The corn chowder at Storytellers! With lots of bread for dunking!

One meal - Big Thunder BBQ for dinner. Tasty ribs, sausage, chicken, corn on the cob, beans, and cornbread served up family-style and all-you-care-to-eat in a fun atmosphere. I've heard people who wish it was more Disney character driven, but most appreciate the high energy, barnyard setting and the down-to-earth entertainment.

As for just one item, it would be the Bengal BBQ Banyan Beef Skewer. It's spicy and complex and delicious. Completely unexpected theme park food when I first had it.

This is a hard decision!

Table service:
BB-surf & turf OR anything at Carthay

Counter service:
Flo's
Pasta at Plaza Inn

Cart:
Corn Dogs!

Treat:
Cinnamon roll at Jolly Holiday
gingerbread cookie at Christmas time

Drink:
Red's Apple Freeze at Cozy Cones
Dole whip float

Snack:
Popcorn!

Hardest question ever...so I'm going to say more than one ;)

Sandwiches: tie between
Fried Green Tomato Sandwich at Hungry Bear, Turkey Sandwich at Jolly Holiday, and the Monte Cristo at either Cafe Orleans or Blue Bayou

Snack: Mickey Pretzel & Cheese with a Coke with a shot of cherry flavor from Coke Corner (note: you have to have these 2 things in conjunction. Preferably on your way out of the parks. Don't ask why, just do it)

Dessert: I really like the red velvet cake pops & DOLE WHIPS <3 <3 No matter the wait in line, Dole Whips are worth it.

Wahhhh now I want Disney food :joker:

  • Snack Cart: Churros!!!
  • Counter Service: Fried Green Tomato Sandwich at Hungry Bear
  • Table Service: Pommes Frites with Cajun Remoulade at Cafe Orleans

I guess I'm going to have to try this Fried Green Tomato sandwich. Every here thinks it's the best thing ever.

For me, the only thing I have to have is a pineapple float at the Tiki hut.

ok now I really want some fried chicken:cloud9:. I don't know that I've had any fried chicken since last year at DLR :eek: (don't usually eat it at home)

Only 11 days, only 11 days.... :bitelip:

Ohhh with so many choices it is hard to choose!

Table service:
BTRBBQ hands down! Love the atmosphere, the food and we've always had amazing servers.

Counter service:
Bengal tiger skewers....a must everytime!
Honorable mention: broc and cheese soup in the bread bowl from Harbour Galley!

Snack:
this one is uber hard to pick, but I have to go with a specialty treat like a candy apple or cute cake pops from the candy store on Main street. Just because they are super cute and yummy also!

Honorable mention: dole whip

Snack: Pumpkin beignets from Mint Julep Bar

Meal: 3 Cheese Monte Cristo

Drink: Brown Derby from Carthay Circle.

I nearly put the brown derby first.
