Going on an unexpected trip to Disneyland and called to see if Fitness in the Park had any openings and they said no. Is this usually a limited attendance event? Anyone every done it? Any openings happen last minute?

Also, anyone been to the royal gathering? Is it worth going to?

The Fitness in Park (pilates) just started this month, if I recall correctly. Perhaps it is sold-out for the near term simply because it is new and folks are trying it out for the first time? Or, perhaps, you were calling too far out for your travel dates? (Since it is new, I'm guessing that Disney is only booking this a couple months out?)

We've enjoyed the Monday morning Royal Gathering event, more so than the similar Wednesday afternoon at WDW. They serve a light continental breakfast (juice, coffee, pastries), have some fun games and giveaways. It is a "rah-rah" event -- but nicely paced and enjoyable.

I did the Fitness in the Park in August 2015. When I called, I wanted to get the pilates session as well as the power walk. However, I was only to book the pilates one, the other one did not have any openings and I called quite some time ago. The CM I spoke to was very helpful and tried to find out what was going on and came to the conclusion that their system did not know the status "not being offered on this day", just "available" and "sold out". So, it might be that for the week you are going, there is no Fitness in the Park. The CMs at the VGC said that they offered it most weeks, but not every week.

I have both events booked for the week of Memorial Day, but now I'm reconsidering. They won't let anyone under 14 into either event, which excludes my DD and my niece, and they just released the park hours that day, and going to these would mean missing EMH at DL. What to do?
