Disneyland Express Bus

Just curious if anyone has had experience with this service. With the discount coupons I got from online the RT for two adults and one child wold only be $55. We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel and we are told it is the first stop when you get there...and that when you return to the airport it just goes to Paradise Pier and then Grand Californian. Just curious about your experiences with the service.

I've taken this bus before and it was good,no problems. It does indeed stop at Disneyland hotel first.

Does anyone know approx. how long it takes to get to BWPPI using the Disneyland Express?

I have heard that the BWPPI is one of the last stops, is this correct?

Would 2 hrs from the airport (LAX) at 12 noon be a good estimate?

We used it with no problems, yes it does stop at the DLR hotels first then loops around the others and yes the BWPPI is one of the last stops, (it is also the last stop when you return to the airport so you win one way but lose out the other). 2 Hours is about right but it will depend on how long you will have to wait for a bus. Last trip we had to wait 30 minutes at LAX, a long time when you just spent 14 hours on a plane...

Next trip we are going to investigate possibly hiring a car for one day, it works out about the same for a family of 4. Or possibly a Shuttle as these seem to go past every 5 minutes or so.

We have taken the express. Just make sure you leave anough time if travelling during rush hour back to the airport. Due to construction and delays we barely made our flight last time. Next time we will allow more time!

I have a 7pm flight on a Sat. leaving at LAX, so would aprox. a 2pm Disneyland Express be good or to early?-I'm going to YVR (Vancouver).

Does anyone know what time the pick ups are at the airport (is it every half hour on the hour?) If we are going to have to wait almost half an hour I would like to grab some food at the airport so we can go straight to the parks once we get checked in at BWPPI.

I've heard good things about it. But I've also heard that a cab is only $35+tip, so if you're looking for $ over other factors, a cab might be a better idea. That's what we'll likely do (two adults one kid).

We have a 6:40pm flight out of Orange County on a Monday night. How much time should we allow?

Also, do all the busses go to all the Disneyland Hotels plus the good neighbor hotels? Or how does that work?

If you're flying out of LAX, I would completely reccomend this service. When we got our bags and walked outside the bus pulled up within 10 seconds and we made one more quick stop and then we left LAX and headed straight for Disneyland Hotel, which is where we were staying anyways. Very comfortable ride and went by much quicker than I had expected.

That would be from SNA (Orange County). And my aunt just took a cab to the DLH from SNA and for two people with tip it was closer to $50. From LAX a cab would be closer to $75 or $80 I think.

I just got off the phone with them. They said since our flight comes in at 8:45am that we would have to wait until 9:45am to catch the bus. They also said that on the way back we would be one of the first stops and then have to be on the bus while they go to all the other Anaheim resorts. While the cost of it may be cheaper, with the longer wait times I am thinking that the cab ride might be better.

Has anyone done super shuttle and just reserved the entire van? They have a sedan car service but for RT from SNA to DLH it is $152 plus tip. A little spendy.

Try www.goldenwestexpress.com I have used them as has my brother and they are so nice. I think I only paid $150 RT from LAX to the DLH for a total of six people. That was a couple of years ago however. They have vans, and towncars. I just called them from my cell when we arrived, he was parked nearby and came right to us. Then when we returned, he came at the designated time. It was all very simple, he also did a grocery stop for us so we could pick up a few things. They will give you an online quote. I like them better than Supershuttle. How many people in your party? There are cabs that are minivans and when you go to the cabstand at the airport, I believe you can tell them you need one of those.

Good luck, I agree, for your time/needs, that sounds like way too much trouble for the bus!

In your case, I think I would go with SuperShuttle or Prime Time. We used SuperShuttle and had no complaints at all and would certainly use again, but I think I enjoyed Disneyland Express a bit more because the bus allowed us to spread out more and because everyone else was going to Disney, the mood was very good on the bus. Either way, you can't go wrong.

If it were up to me, I would at least rent the entire van for the trip to your hotel so you can get there ASAP.

Thanks everyone for the input. We were sitting outside talking and figured that is going to cost $325 or so for the airfare ... another $80 for the parking/transportation here in Phoenix ... another $125 or so for transportation from SNA to DLH and back... When we add it up ... it is over $500. For us to drive there it will only cost about 125 round trip plus parking at the DLH. It will take us a couple more hours but that is looking okay at this point. The difference would pay for our food at DLH during the trip.

Amy & Dan - I will check your link, though, before I make a final decision.

We haven't made the drive from Phoenix to Anaheim before but everyone is telling me it isn't bad. I just dread the trip as we get closer to Anaheim and try to find the DLH. We have traffic -- lots of it here -- but as I recall it seems worse there.

I now realize my aunt must not have asked for a flat rate. I have always taken cabs from the DLH to SNA and its usually been closer to $50 with the tip for four because as you say its not a flat rate. But its been a few years, so when she (as in my aunt) took one to the hotel and paid $50 I was surprised it had gone up that much. Guess I should have told her about the flat rate!

I just wanted to clarify that the $50 was for SNA in case someone unfamilar with L.A. thought that was for all the airports. That could be an unpleasant shock found out the hard way!

Also, just a warning. With SuperShuttle or Prime Time, you could draw the short straw and get in a van with people heading home to their residences and if there are four or five people all going different places, you will be in the SS van for quite some time as you take these people to their homes. I know it was a 1 1/2 to 2 hour ride on SS the last time I visited DL. Never again! I'd rather stop off at the hotels in the Anaheim area than get dragged around Orange County again. I'd rather just hire a car, pay more, and get direct service.

We reserve the whole van from SuperShuttle. It costs $47 each way for up to 7 people, it's waiting for you and there are no other stops to worry about. It comes right to the hotel to pick you up and you just climb in and leave. That's how we've done it the past 3 years--no problems.

Since you are flying International like us I would be at the airport checking in no later than 5:30pm. Leaving by 3 should give you enough time for other pickups and delays.
