Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

:tiptoe:

Oh, Hi girls! I was hoping to sneak back on here without much notice.:lmao:

I'm going back to the gym today :thumbsup2 And I'm starting healthy eating (NOT a diet) tomorrow.

I want to lose 10lbs by March 31st.

:cheer2:

Yea! She's here!

Jen, that video is awesome. Everyone, take a look, it's only like 30 sec.

I did my 45 min on the cross trainer today. I don't get why my gym will not replace the no cell phone sign that got stolen... I'm thinking of just making my own and putting it up there.

That's probably the best idea.

Do you think they REALLY mean "everyone"? I have a feeling they would frown on having our then-5 year old doing the 5K...don'cha think? Or maybe they would just care if he (and therefore we) couldn't keep the pace? hmm.

Unless your 5 year old is a really good, focused and fast paced walker, I'd be careful. I signed my kids up for the kids races, not the 5k. They will be in CA and should be fun. Check them out on the website. Plus, I think they are only like $10 if I remember.

It's the kid-care issue, if hubby wishes to do the 5K as well. Either have to get the brother/SIL up from San Diego, or one of us will have to sit out, darnit!

I'm actually in the same situation. How does your son do with group care? My kids are very energetic. Maybe we could get sitters unlimited and split it three ways? Or anyone not doing the race wanna take care of three crazy kids? My two are sweet, smart, but definitely a handful at times. :headache:

Can someone else look at the AP calendar and verify what I'm seeing? That the Deluxe APs are blocked out on the 5th and 6th?

That seriously increases the skills I'll need to convince the fam that I/we should do the 5K. :headache:
What??? So after the walk we can't do the parks? I mean unless we buy those $40 block out day passes??

Ugh, if that's the case I think I'm going to have to skip this. Doing the walk is one thing and will be fun but I really wanted to pair it with a Disney trip. :sad2:

I almost forgot to post my weight!

I'm down 2 pounds since we got back. From 213 to 211. :)

Good luck to everyone else!!! Get back on track and get moving! We can all reach our goals, whatever they may be. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ah Beth, don't back out! You can save up for a premium pass. Yeah! That's the ticket!

I hate that Disneyland chose Labor Day weekend for this event. Why not chose some time in January or February like WDW does? Crowds would be lower, weather better and no block out days. But, alas, no one asked me. I definitely would not chose this weekend on my own to go, but I really do want to try the race and I do need this event to keep me focused and on track. And there's still plenty of time to save up for that upgrade to a premium AP or block out ticket. ;)

You got to do what you feel comfortable with, but I'd love to see you there! And you and Amy could have so fun training together in Vegas. :woohoo: Weekend backpacking trips in the grand canyon...I can see it now ;)

I still haven't stepped on the scale. I will next week.

But I have done very well with exercising. Did my weights on Monday, ran Tuesday, Pilates on Wednesday and Thursday did weights and running. I'm feeling like I'm finally getting back in shape after a month of Disney indulgence (which set me back considerably :headache: ).

How is everyone else doing???

I don't know. How much to upgrade? I'll have to think about that one. And as you said, they chose a crappy time to hold it. The parks will be packed. Dumb Disney! :headache:

BTW, I can't PM you!! Clear your box out woman!! :rotfl:

221 crappy pounds here. I really need to get my lazy butt moving!

255.5 fat pounds here :sad2:

Don't worry gals!! That's only temporary. Just wait until you start dropping those pounds and adding a 20 pounds banner, a 30 pound banner and so on!! :yay:

Take it slow. Set a goal of just losing something each week. Even if it's only a half a pound. Even if all you do is maintain. Just don't gain anything. Eventually it will add up.

I started my journey back in MAY for pete's sake! That's 10 months ago. It's taken me that long to lose 50 lbs. and there were about four months in there where I played around in the teens going up and down, up and down!! It was annoying and frustrating but the key is to stick with it.

I know you can both do it!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Beth, I know you mean well, but your skinny butt can bite my fat one! :p ;)

No thanks. I already had my Lean Cuisine, I'm not hungry.
However I'll kick your butt is what I'll do. :smooth:

OK, let's see......we are basically the same height. And according to the weight you posted you are only 10 pounds more then me. So that HARDLY qualifies me as skinny and you as fat dearie. So hush and get moving!!! Or I'll sic VinDisney on you. :rolleyes1

I agree with the Labor Day choice... that's why it's a maybe for me because of a local conference I attend every Labor Day weekend. But I am still aiming for it (and will decide later ) because it's a good goal to focus on.

Jen, your schedule this week was awesome! :yay: What a nice mix. Are you doing pilates machines or mat?

I am stronger than I've been in 4-5 years but still have a long ways to go to be as fit as I was before that. Some background - I'm a cancer survivor, and the surgery wasn't great so it took about 2-3 years to really get over that. I'm on a chemo pill that has tendonitis as a side effect (and I'm prone to it anyway). First I had it in my hand but after six months it sort of magically went away. I got it in the achillies several months ago and I am hoping that it is finally settling down so I will be able to walk for exercise. At this point I don't do the treadmill, just the cross trainer and bike. I was relieved to see I could walk all over DL for two days with only one Advil.

I did my longest ever cross-trainer time today, 50 minutes. It was because Oprah was on and she had the two guys from that lion video. It was a great incentive to stay on the machine. ;)

Beth, very inspiring that you did so much since last May -- :cheer2:. You are so right, it is one step at a time, one pound at a time.

Keep going everyone.

Wendy...where are your lady like manners, my dear? Take a walk and cool down. Or at least just take a walk.
Do I sense a competition? The battle for the biggest loser is on! :rotfl:

Congrats on being a cancer survivor and sticking with exercise despite injuries. It's not easy, but it is so important.

As for pilates, I did "power pilates." Wasn't a mat or machine, but working with bands, balls, that dome thing (what is it called) and I guess a little on the mat. That class always introduces me to stomach muscles I never knew I had (or didn't have).

Didn't exercise today, as had to go pick up my son from school -- ear ache again. Started him on antibiotics on Tuesday for a double ear infection, but he still seems to be having trouble. Ugh. As for me, I'm feeling a little icky too. Plus work is not fun this week. Having a hard time focusing for one, and then just found out they across the board cut our salaries 10% for the month of April, after cutting it 5% already. So I now am making 15% less than I was beginning of the year. :sad2: And I'm still not fully integrated into this new position I have. Need to put some positive energy into the work front and make it a priority next week. For sure.

Planning a long run this weekend - at least five miles. And maybe a weight works class too.

Ooh, interesting idea. E loves meeting new kids!

I don't know. How much to upgrade? I'll have to think about that one.

Would be the difference between what you paid for the Deluxe (and since you got the Costco one that's the exact price of the Deluxe) and the cost of the Premium. So if you thought you would have THREE blocked out days that you wanted to go, upgrading would be worth it. If you know it's only 2 days...then the blockout fee makes more sense. (I'm in the same boat, except that I used that special last Fall and therefore only paid 239 instead of 269, and so I might have to spend even more b/c of that)

Before yesterday, E and I had taken shorter walks. Then the evening of two days ago we met hubby on his walk home, but only halfway to where he gets off the downtown lightrail. Yesterday we left early enough (despite calling the fire dept b/c of a natural gas smell in a construction-zone area!) that we got all the way there, so we did over 2 miles yesterday.

And no, E was not focused at all. I think he'll be with his aunt and uncle, or with grizz's kids, LOL.

Wendy? Lady like?? HA!
And I'm definitely NOT the biggest loser after the dinner I had tonight. :sad2: Why is it I can do well all freakin day long and then blow it at night.

I'm sorry to hear about the pay cuts at work. Ouch, that really sucks. :guilty:

Well, after I just got back from this trip and then my husband just spent $600 on mini van repairs, I'd better not even think of mentioning another Disney trip or any sort of upgrade for a long, long time. :sad2:
