Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Jennifer-are you going to be at DL the 12-13th? So will I--I'm taking my Mom! I'll look for you if that is the case!

I'll be there this weekend too!

Yes! I'm arriving on Saturday morning and leaving on Monday. I'm going to be with DH, DSs and my SIL and her sons, but surely can find some time for a quick meet. What do you think?

I really think I'll be getting the job because it seems that my GM & ASMs liked me and of course remember me because I would go visit them when I would be in the mall. What's a trip to the mall without a visit to the Disney Store?

I hope you get the job! They're loss if they don't hire Disney Inspired! Seems such a great fit for you? Would you get any Disney benefits working at the store?

Oh, and have a great trip to Disneyland on Wednesday!

And, as for me, I'm officially exhausted.

But I do have a QUOTE OF THE DAY
There lurks, perhaps, in every human heart a desire of distinction, which inclines every man first to hope, and then to believe, that Nature has given him something peculiar to himself.
~Samuel Johnson

Hey ladies! I love the name of this chat thread! I am always looking for a new support system and I'm trying to allow myself the support... I have an awful habit of disappearing from chat boards but I am trying to change that... I started my lifestyle change January 3rd 2008... As of today I am down 60 lbs and 2 pants sizes... I was a size 24 and now I am a size 20 in pants... My year has been full of ups and downs and frankly I am ready for 2009! In any case I'd love to be a part of this board and look forward to talking to everyone!!

Thank you, I will!
They said if you are kept on, after seasonal as a regular part-time associate you get 20% discount at Disneyland and 4 free tickets! If you stay long enough they bump up your discount to 35%. That's so awesome! I already have an AP so if I want to go, I can take my whole family!

I basically just count calories... I use spark people to track what I eat. Basically I try not to limit the types of food I eat but allow anything with in my calorie allocation. I try to also limit my fast food and drink a ton of water... I drink between 10-14 cups per day. I need to start working out again... Haven't really been good about that lol...

I use sparkpeople too. It really helps having the area to put food intake and they total everything for you.

Well, you are doing great! That's basically what I've been doing too. Just keeping track of what I'm eating and how much. I'm still not doing very good on the water yet. LOL But I'm working on it.

Walked the dog for 1.5 miles.
Eating is down the drain, it's my TOM. Ugh, and I'm going to Disneyland tomorrow. Thank goodness I don't get too bad, I'll just be hopped up on meds and chocolate (sugar-free of course!;))

Hi everyone, just wanted to stop in quickly and say hi..."hi"!:wave2: I am completely exhausted and must get to bed. I have been eating ok this week but no excersize to speak of. Who has time!?! But I know I need to get to it soon! Biggest loser starts 1 week from today!

Sarah
P.S. Drink that water!

I kind of force myself to drink it... I make sure I have 5 water bottles down by the time I leave work at 430 (we have a water machine so I refill the same one) and then I usually have 2 at home... Its rough but sooooo necessary!

Lucky you! Last time I was at Disneyland in July I gained 6 lbs and that was with all the walking we did... LOL! I can't get enough of the popcorn popcorn:: or the cookies from the Winnie the Pooh bakery....

Last night I had fat free hot dogs and Lays Lights chips... best dinner ever! lol... instead of buns I use whole wheat wraps... Also went to Barnes and Noble and bought the Biggest Loser Cookbook... I can't wait to try it :) Hope everyone has a better day than me lol :surfweb:

Happy Wednesday Ladies! :dance3:

I have been SO tired lately. Went out for my run (which usually takes about 30 minutes) and after 45 I was so tired, I started walking. Where or where did my energy go? Plus, I must admit to having tasted some lovely sweets at all those parties I've been to and now all I want is some chocolate for breakfast :headache: and that cinnamin mint I ate just isn't doing the trick. :sad2: I think it's time to go to the store to get some fat free/sugar free chocolate pudding and get back on track.

So we leave for Disneyland in two days and I haven't even started getting ready. If I could just have an extra day to rest and get ready...

Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!

Now for the QUOTE OF THE DAY

Best get to packin!! Last trip I took I was packed mostly the week before! LOL! :rotfl:

Happy Wednesday back at ya!:thumbsup2

Well, I think I'm back on track. I'm starting.......AGAIN.......fresh! I'm getting off my butt and walking, eating healthy, and no longer weighing myself. Nope, I just can't do the scale thing. It sabotages my thinking because:

If I don't lose the weight I expect, I either go to the extreme and eat virtually nothing and starve myself, or I just give up and think what's the point, and revert back to an unhealthy lifestyle.

So for me, it's not about the scale ANY MORE! It's become a quest for a strong, healthy body and mind. That's it. If I so happen to lose weight/dress sizes, then great. But most important to me is fueling my body with healthy foods and strengthening my body with exercise. (That's just me though. I know that the scale can be a great tool/motivator for many, so if that works for you, then stick with it!:) )

Yesterday I walked about 2.5 miles and it felt great! It was hot out.....I was sweating......and the hill at the end made me do a little huffing and puffing (getting that heart rate up). I'm going out in a bit and doing it again today!:cheer2:

That is a great outlook... On my other board we've been talking about that as well... We get so focused on the day to day ups and downs of weight loss and its effects that sometimes we forget to look at the big picture. For example I freak if i gain a couple lbs over the weekend but overall I have lost 60 lbs... what is a few lbs that will soon go away? We only fail if we stop trying...

I'm going to Disneyland tomorrow.
I hope you are off having tons of fun!!! :mickeyjum

Do you watch Biggest Loser? I've never seen it but Ruben suggested we watch it this time. Maybe we'll get inspired. :)

I have to force myself to drink the water too. It's just so blah. But I'm getting better at it.

We are going to DL in October and I'm not even going to try and diet while I'm there. :rotfl: Too many good things I want to try. I know once I am back home and back on track, I can lose whatever I end up gaining.

Your dinner sounds good! I'm not a big hot dog person, but every now and then you just get that craving ya know? I like finding ways to take some of the foods I used to eat and altering them so they can still fit into a healthier way of eating. :thumbsup2

It's no wonder you are so tired! You've been so busy. I hope once you are in DL you'll be able to just relax and have some fun. :)

GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! I'm so happy to hear all that. That's a great attitude to have and I know you are going to get healthy and strong and look hot doing it. :cheer2:

Ya my motto is What Happens at Disneyland Stays at Disneyland .. :lmao: When I go I eat like there is no tomorrow... I love their chimichangas, corn dogs, cookies and popcorn... Tigger tails are ok but I am not huge into marshmallow...

As far as food goes, I always prefer to eat a big dinner... I hate breakfast and I don't get time to do lunch big so I always focus on dinner... Tonight we are having buffalo chicken breasts and mashed potatoes (well instant mashed potatoes). Then I will have about 200 calories left for snacks which will prolly be smart pop 100 calorie back and some sort of fruit... Today for lunch I had celery and guacamole... I found these kick butt 100 calorie packets of guac that are sooooo good... Breakfast was sugar free strawberry yogurt... I am debating whether or not to go for my sugar free pudding in the fridge here at work... :confused3 Anywho its a slow day at work and I am sooooo ready to go home....

Do you watch Biggest Loser? I've never seen it but Ruben suggested we watch it this time. Maybe we'll get inspired. :)

I have watched it for all the seasons except the first one and I love it! My DH and I watch it together and we get very inspired and try to lose weight. It is a good kick in the pants and has good ideas. I have also joined the biggest loser challenge on these boards that starts friday. I am excited!

They had a Biggest Loser casting thing out here... Anyone from AZ make it in??

Mmmmm, chimis!
Thinking of eating at DL actually helps me out because when I am tempted to eat something here at home, I'll remind myself that if I skip out on treats now, I can splurge more on vacation.

I'm kind of eager to see what all the fuss is about. Everyone I know who watches that show loves it. What is the biggest loser challenge?
