Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Woohoo! I have Internet connection! And it's fast. And it's at home!!

On the laundry front, not so rosy. Went down to the laundry room and did a load of wash. Went ok. Did another. I broke the machine. Don't know how. Anyhow, my clothes are wet in washer and all electricity is off. Tried to call the landlord, but he never answers. I'm sure all my neighbors hate the ugly Americans who ruin their laundry room. Last time I tried to do a load, this happened too, but fortunately after my clothes were spun dry. OH...I want a washer and dryer (or even just a washer at this point) SOOOO bad!!!

Was going to do a run, but spent all afternoon hooking up Internet. Now I need to catch that bus to pick up this kids. I spend a lot of time on the bus each day...have I mentioned that?

Oh, I must get some dinner. Hmmm... Stores open after lunch break at 2pm. I'll grab something and then go get kids.

I feel so out of the loop! I have not posted in forever but I think about you all A LOT!!

I have no idea what weight I started at officially when I first signed up but I have lost 40 pounds since I saw you all in February. :goodvibes I am not following WW or Atkins but I am eating low-carb, but healthy. Not fried butter meat and cheese. But lots of salads, low-fat dairy, lean meats and diet coke:rolleyes1. And water of course.:angel:

I need to find the new diva thread. I am looking forward to seeing you all again in February!!

Even seeing me January? :angel:
 
Hi all! I only gained .8! Woo Hoo! Less than one pound...I will take it! It was probably those pommes frites and pasteries. Totally worth it! I am back on track and doing just fine! DH made a new recipe last night which was good, not great, but good. Working a double today and tomorrow and then a bbq at my moms as my grandmother is going back down south for the winter. Summer went by so quickly...probably because I was always at work! LOL!

Anyway, to answer the question, I will not be there in October but will be in February so I will see ya'll then and hopefully you will see a lot less of me as my WW leader likes to say!

Later Gators and don't forget to drink your water...I am on bottle number 8 for the day!

Thanks Shirley! Today is going well again. Working another double but only 2 1/2 hours to go. The bbq tomorrow will be totally managable and I still have all my extra points for the week. My mom is making one of my favorite desserts but as it is a cupcake it will already be preportioned which should help! Hope everyone is having a great op day!

So my dh figured out the points on the cupcakes and they are 4 almost 5 points each! :scared1: Guess I am just having one! I am glad I had him check before we got to my moms! I am looking forward to the weekend but there will be a lot of temptations. I will be making the applesauce but also and apple pie and possibly and Apple/Pear cobbler that I have a new recipe for from WW. Wish me luck!

I hope everyone is staying on track and MOVING!!! :yay::yay::yay: I think we need a roll call here: Beth? Vicki? Amy Sue? Cristabel? Amy? Others? How are we all doing??? It will soon be Halloween and we need to get on track before all those treats beckon us! Why doesn't everyone just report in and let us know how you're doing, feeling and proceeding (or not) with your goals. There's no day like TODAY to live the life you want to live and be HEALTHY!!!

I'm going to go on a run today. Haven't done any long runs more than 50 minutes since I got here, which is making that marathon seem further and further away. Also, I can feel my arms getting weaker and weaker, as I have no weights since I have no gym. Obama guns are not happening. Still I am going to keep moving and try to stay healthy as I figure out how to make this new workout routine work in Switzerland.

Look forward to hearing how everyone is doing! Remember, this thread is not a place to be judged, but supported and everyone needs to post, not just those who are losing. No hiding. Be true to yourself and your goals!
 
Hi Jen! Love hearing all your updates and LOVE seeing all your wonderful pics on FB!!

As for me it has been about a month since my surgery and I am finally feeling up to trying to workout again. It has been a LONG year of starts and stops and I am probably going to have to start out REALLY slow again since it has been so long but I figure ANYTHING is better than sitting on my butt LOL.

So today is Monday which is ALWAYS a good day to start and I plan to do a nice probably 30 minute workout today to get the blood flowing. I have been trying to watch my eating although I know I have not been doing THAT great but I always try to keep my portions in check at least. I haven't had a significant gain and pretty much am maintaining but I STILL want to lose at LEAST 10 more lbs and possibly more so that is my goal. At this point I am just going to try and workout as much as I can till the end of the year and will probably get much more serious about my eating once the upcoming holidays are over. But as I said at least exercising for now will help a little. Hope everyone is well and take care! :)
 
OK it's time for me to officially declare that I have weight loss goals so I will join in. I have been trying to lose weight in spurts for the last six years and have lost 78 pounds in that time. I would like to lose 27 more and plan to do it before the February trip. I definitely need to get to the gym more - I like the step classes. The next time I can make it will be Tuesday after work so I am putting that on my calendar now, as well the following Saturday morning. I will try for twice a week for now. :yay:

I wasn't able to yesterday or today as I have a doc apt but I plan to hit hard again on Monday. Can't this weekend either as we have an early soccer game tomorrow and Church on Sunday but I think 3 good workouts was a good start after not having worked out in several months. It felt good to get back to it and eventhough my eating isn't ideal hopefully with watching my portions at least and the exercise SOMETHING will happen! :)

Hope everyone else is fairing well in their journey!

I am doing OK with exercise this week. Did three runs, the longest 7 miles. I'm finding my way around these paths and bike trails and hopefully can start building some mileage.

The strength training was non existant this week. :headache:

Eating not so good...portions have been fine, but lots of sweets. And today went out for a wonderful fatty Swiss meal of a pork cutlet and rice. We have this great Swiss restaurant one minute from our apartment. Expensive for dinner, but OK for lunch. We took the lady who helped us find our apartment and get set up there.

Will keep plugging away here...

I'm here and in my case it would be NOT proceeding. :sad2: :guilty: I know no one here would judge me, but I am judging myself and I hate that I cannot seem to stay on track for more than a week at a time. Then I go hog wild and gain tons of weight back!!

I don't even want to step on the scale right now. I'm "skeered"!! :scared1:
Plus I've been on a baking kick lately. That really hasn't been all that bad though as I've been sending most, if not all, of it to work with Ruben. I just enjoy the baking part. Unfortunately I've been making horrible choices in the general food category. :rolleyes:

So there you have it. I suck. lol But I still pop in here now and then. Just too embarrassed to post. :rolleyes1

Beth, I'm probably doing a whole lot worse than you! School has just gotten the best of me up until now.

I just realized I have three months until Sergio's (my cousin) wedding. If that wasn't reason enough my other cousin, well technically she's my mom's cousin but we're the same age, Cecilia texted me today to tell me she and her bf are engaged! They are also planning a January wedding. :scared1:
Let's just say it wasn't too hard to decline on eating at Carl's this afternoon and grabbing a promax bar and water bottle instead.

It's crunch time girls!
I just hope this cold ends RAPIDO because I can't work out when I feel dizzy from getting up to fast and can't breathe because my nose is plugged!
 
I'm still here but like you Beth don't feel like posting cuz it seems every time I lose a pound I gain back 3. I haven't been doing that great on my eating but last week I worked out 3 times and I am going to try and workout every day this week and every day I CAN from here on out. Life just always seems to get in the way and it is ESP hard this time of year with the holidays coming up and life gets SO busy with that. Yesterday I did half a workout but I got my mind on my prescriptions and I couldn't concentrate so I stopped to call my ins lady cuz once I get obsessed with something it just drives me nuts LOL. The good news is they WERE wrong and my max copay IS only 30 bucks so they DID overcharge me. I was on the phone three or four times yesterday with the ins lady and my ins company but I am getting a refund back from Walgreens and more importantly they have it fixed so the NEXT time I go in for a refill it will be right! :) But anyway I was so concentrating on THAT I couldn't concentrate on my workout. But now that THAT is taken care of I hope to do a full workout today!!

My problem is even though I usually do ok on my portions I have a TERRIBLE sweet craving after my meals and I usually try to satiate that with something acceptable like non-fat yogurt or one of those skinny cow bars or something but sometimes I crack and eat something I shouldn't. That plus not working out adds up.

I just need to get BACK on the wagon again with my daily workouts and get my eating back under control and I should be ok. I need to STOP gaining and actually LOSE something and KEEP it off!

Anyway don't stress Beth. When you are ready you will do it. I have found that we have to be in the right mind set to lose and until we are it just doesn't work. You will do it when you are ready!! You have done amazing so far so don't worry about it!

Hey all, I am still here. Plugging along and feeling like I am doing ok. I, too, have been really into baking lately. I made a new apple pie recipe that was from the "Best of the Bakeoff" recipe book and it was spectacular! I also made a recipe from these bakery mystery books I have been reading and it was sooooo good! I kept one of the bars and then took the rest to work. The pie went to my family members. (It had lemon zest in it and was absolutely delicious!) My husband has been making a lot of new recipes out of the new WW cookbook and it has been so fun! He has made a lot of great things and he made a new stew (not from the ww cookbook) that was so great. So I am just really happy lately. Well fed and yet still on plan! Also got a new haircut and went hiking with my family and am going to pick pumpkins next weekend! Hope everyone is having a great day! Don't be too hard on yourselves. Just make the best choices you can each time you make a choice!

I have been eating really good.
I am doing this diet "thing" with my friend. She is very obese & has a crap load of medical problems. So she didn't want to do this journey alone. So I volunteered to do it with her. Lets just say it has been and interesting wk.
Not something I would have chose myself but we have been friends for 20 years and she needs the support.
Ok I am not sure where I started I think that it was somewhere around
188 or somewhere around there. I am to lazy to go and find my post.

Ok so when we started I was 188.
Its a version of this & that, low cal eating.
Today I am 178.
Well except I have been in the worst pain in my left abdomen, I am thinking its my ovary or something close to it.
So I was not really wanting to cook after Kaelebs football game so we had Mc Donalds (I have not eaten out in 2 wks or drank pop) I had a diet coke (oh its WAY to sweet!!!), chicken nuggets & nixed the fries & had tomato slices. I did an hr of power Yoga & have drank 68 oz of water!

BTW....I cannot wait for DL to eat a cupcake....

Jen, glad you are finding ways to move there. Plus, aren't you walking more, just in your daily life there?

Beth, good for you for checking in. I'm not eating so carefully right now, too much stuff going on in the life. Well, even as I say that I realize I automatically make some good choices - but the point being that I am having probably too many 100 cal snacks, etc. and I am eating stuff like rice. But at least I am getting my body to the gym at least 5 days a week. Getting the oxygen to my cells really helps. And I also found out a side benefit - my skin looks better.

I hope everyone who isn't feeling 100% gets better soon.
