Looking at purchasing a disneyland deluxe annual pass.
Is it worth the initial outlay of cost? Ive looked at our dates and they aren't blockout dates. It seems all a bit fuzzy this mathematical side to planning as a saving seems to good to pass up.

We will be staying at DLH from November 4th - November 8th 2014. Does anyone know what the standard room view rate would be? Im guessing its around 10% as dates for that far wouldnt be available yet. If i go ahead and book through disney and a better AP rate comes up say 20-30% would I be eligible?
I know we can also get a 20% discount at HOJOS as we will be staying there from October 29th - November 4th, and im aware of foodie and merchandise discounts we can get too.
Please help

I have only done research for Disneyworld annual pass so I cant really help with the benefits for disneyland annual pass. Do you want it just for the discount for accommodation? If so have you looked at renting DVC, for us that is always the cheaper option but that may be because we need more space and always go the 2 bedroom villa options.

I have found that it will also depend on how long you will be going or spending in disney. I am sure the others will be able to give you some great advice.

WOW, I just did a search on 1 bedroom villa at the grand Californian, It is rather expensive to stay there, it is definitely cheaper at the DLH.:)

Past experience with disney is that if you do book and a better deal comes out after that then they will then give it to you at the better price. good luck

Hi Tashinwdw the idea of renting DVC makes my mind boggle, really would like to be able to afford to stay in a 1 bdr villa at grand californian but way way out of my budget. We are only staying for four nights, and that is still alot, but there is no way I would consider anywhere else off site....

I have twice had Disneyland Premium AP's (currently have one actually) and both times they have paid for themselves. But we were there for two weeks the first time, so the hotel discounts, food and tour and merchandise discounts really worked out well (we then upgraded it to a premier pass and used that for three weeks at WDW, which again paid for itself many times over). The one I have currently, well we were at DL for 4 months, so it's hard to compare that being worth it.

But if you are only there for 4 nights, I don't know that it would be worth it? unless you were planning to go back again within the 12 months. If you plan on buying a good lot of merchandise, doing a tour or two and eating at many restaurants, along with the hotel discount it may come close, but I don't know that it would for 4 days. I think I would just get regular tickets and hope that the hotel has a special (which they often do!) I got a stay 4 get 3 night free at GCH one December.

Hi aussietravellers I can see how your pass would have paid for itself multiple times over. But your right just for 4 nights it's really not worth it I estimated we may save around $50 which is nothing really, in hindsight I should have got one last year when we went..... Oh for hindsight lol
