sounds about right. But remember, it is like comparing the weather of Liverpool and Madrid. The US is huge (and seattle is almost always cold and wet, like the UK). Anaheim is almost always sunny and has much nicer weather than WDW!

Indeed it is. I was expecting a difference, but I wasn't expecting 10 degrees and dry vs wet - especially not in October.

Well for comparison, let's see today:

Liverpool - 18C Cloudy

Madrid - 23C Sunny

So ok, could be a little surprising. But seattle is in a cold area on the pacific 30 min south of Canada, Anaheim is sheltered by 4 mountain ranges, 2 hours north of Mexico.

4 cheerleaders today (I think - Ive lost count)

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

You're right - I haven't updated the title yet today.

Picked up my dollars today, so I'm feeling pseudo rich because I've got lots of cash in my wallet at the moment.

Work gave me $360 for the Seattle part, so I've got just over $1000 in total for the week.

Yipee its getting closer :cheer2:

Are you all sorted then Rob?

Not even close. I really should make a start on getting sorted.

I've spent all the money I need to spend though, which is the first step. Just got to plan my packing and rides etc...

My white board is all clean and ready for operation plan DL though...

Ooh Rob, I bet you are getting soooooo excited.
I totally agree, I would hate for something that important to go missing in the post.

It happened to me. :guilty: I'd ordered some euros from M&S a few years ago and the postie had his bag stolen from his bike, he'd only turned his back for a few seconds to chat with someone and this yob ran off with his bag. Luckily he knew he had a registered envelope for me and I guessed it had been the currency so phoned M&S who sent some more out and they liaised with the Post Office direct over the missing lot. I'm lucky in that I've got an M&S with a bureau de change only 5 minutes from my house so get it from there now. It served me right for being lazy really! ;)

I'm a little excited out at the moment to be honest, but deep down I am.

 That's the very reason why I wouldn't do it. That's good that M&S believed you and dealt with everything on your behalf though.

Seattle is actually one of my favourite cities in the US, and I have been to almost every state.

There are beautiful views as well as some great food there, and wonderful museums. The Museum of Flight is especially interesting.

And if you are downtown don't miss Pike Place Market (NOT 'Pike's Place Market' as so many tourists misname it) I especially like visiting Piroshky Piroshky when they first open in the morning and buying some hot baked goods. It is right by the original Starbucks.

Please don't overlook all that the wonderful city has to offer in your excitement for Disneyland! :)

I'm sure I won't, although I'm in Seattle for work rather than pleasure, so won't get a great deal of free time there :guilty:

Will you actually be IN Seattle, or a suburb? downtown? it makes a quite a bit of difference. Bellevue for instance is across the lake and has its own character and charm. I take it that at least you would be able to get out for dinners etc and Seattle has some of the best and most unique restaurants in the country.

I don't honestly know - the training course is fairly "residential", as it has slots for dinner, lunch and breakfast, although it tends to finish about 8:30 in the evening, so there should be some time there.

I will also have all day tuesday to myself, although part of that will be spent recovering from the flight :thumbsup2

The hotel is in Redmond / Bellevue if I remember rightly.

Redmond is a nice little 'town'. (I have spent a lot of time there) It has changed quite a bit since Microsoft came in a long time ago. There is a 'town centre' which sadly did not catch on when it was built 10 years ago; it is a European style outdoor shopping and dining area but Americans seem to prefer indoor malls so most of the shops are relocating.

It is about 25 minutes from Redmond to downtown Seattle, and 15 to Bellevue. If you staying are in Redmond itself, you may have a few mountain views but not too much. If you are staying off the 520, then you really won't have much close by at all other than some lower end shops and chain dining. (The hotels tend to be clustered in the middle of Redmond, or near the 520/148th Ave exit)

If you are staying in Bellevue, then you will be closer to higher end shopping and dining as well as some excellent local food. Flying TO the US is easier generally than flying FROM the US to Europe, so if you can get some sleep on the flight over you will hopefully have some time to enjoy when you get there.

Hopefully you will at least have the chance to get to downtown Seattle, if only for a short while.

Ah! That is sort of in the midst of the not so exciting area (although near Trader Joe's where I like to grocery shop :) ) The 520 is the road which one takes over Lake Washington to meet up with the I-5 to downtown Seattle.

Have fun!

Woohoo - last full working day today :cool1:
