I went to Disneyland & California Adventure on Sunday, June 18th, for a few hours in the afternoon. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and the parks were moderately crowded.
I had fun watching the people as I visited both parks. At California Adventure, I spent most of my time at Hollywood Backlot.

I went into the Animation Station, and noticed that the benches were back in there (they had taken them out the last time I was there), and now there were directional signs telling people of the different things they could see/experience there.

I also noticed that in the area where they have samples of the evolution of some of the characters there are now backdrops where characters pose for pics with guests. I didn't realize that at first, but then I saw Chicken Little come out. This is a nice, cool spot to take pics.

I then went into the Animation Academy, where I learned to draw Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. It was easy to do, and I think would make a cool souvenir. I didn't get a frame, but I think it would be a nice idea to get a frame for your own rendition of Mickey or Minnie.

I also saw a bit of the show Drawn to Magic. Those cast members - beautiful voices! I really enjoyed the show, and watching the little ones' reactions when they saw Woody, Snow White, & Sorcerer Mickey come on stage. After the show, the characters took pics with guests.

As I left the park, I walked through the Sunshine Plaza, and the music playing was just too catchy to pass up. I went to the crowd, and Goofy was dancing the Limbo with whoever would dance it. At that time, all the dancers were kids, but I had a feeling that if Tink33 had been there she would have been going under that limbo bar herself.
Wave Riders & Goofy
Well, after that, I went on over to Disneyland - there was hardly any line to go in. As I entered Main Street, I noticed that people were lining up to watch Parade of Dreams. I figured what the heck, and sat on a bench next to a lady who was there. We had perfect seats, right in front of the train station, especially since the hot sun was at my back instead of my face. Before the parade, there was fanfare for the Grand Marshall - and the announcer said their names over the loudspeaker. I thought that was pretty cool.

It was warm, so I thought I would duck in Golden Horseshoe. Billy Hill & the Hillbillies had just started a show, so I sat in the back & enjoyed. They were funny, and I got a kick from watching the people who never saw them before cracking up at their jokes and music.
I also realized that there would be no Fantasmic, since Disney was busy putting up the bleachers & screen for the Pirates of the Caribbean Premiere.

New Orleans Square seems to have been turned over to the Pirates - at least the shops near Pirates of the Caribbean. The ornament shop has been turned into a treasure shop now.

All in all, it was a very enjoyable day to visit Disneyland and California Adventure.
