Disneyland buys hotel across the street

But they haven't said they will never do anything else with the property. The words "for now" are their get out of jail free card.
Exactly Disney closed innoventions but doesn't have anything announced for what's coming they do this all the time

Haven't stay at this hotel, but we've twice stayed at the Tropicana Inn and Suites, which is just to the immediate south of this location. For those WDW people who don't go out there, it's literally a 5-minute walk to the parks. There's no way they plow this hotel down just to make a bridge over harbor Blvd. My guess is it's what they said, they had a chance to buy up some property very close to the resort. They basically will do this every chance they get. If they can buy up enough - then they can consider doing something with it.

The reason Paradise Pier has some bad sightlines is because it was built as a non-Disney hotel and then Disney bought it. which is why it's not very "Disney". It makes me wonder if they renovate this purchased hotel to give it a bit more "Disney" feel so they can charge people twice as much to stay there.

Maybe it will be the 1st Disney Value Resort in Disneyland? This is the Carousel Hotel? They could even ramp up that theming and incorporate it with the Disney brand. Would give people an option to stay in an actual Disney owned and operated resort without having to break the bank. If they could buy up a few more around it, then it would be large enough to do it. If you look at the structure of any of the value resorts in WDW, they are basically architecturally the same.... they would just need more and a main building for check in and a food court. We almost stayed at The Carousel a few years ago (not being able to justify the amount of the actual Disney hotels when off property was so close and so much more affordable, but had to cancel our trip due to my needing back surgery. Unfortunately, we have never had another opportunity to go out there. It will be interesting to see what comes of this new acquisition.

Very rarely do things come available for purchase around Disneyland and that is what happened here. Most Lille nothing will happen with it in the short term but for the long term if Disney ends up buying more things surround the property things could change.
