Disneyland Buffets?

I'm trying to find out some info on the buffets that are offered at Disneyland. I know Goofys Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe do breakfast, but does anywhere do dinner? Character dining isn't really the goal, my boyfriend is mostly interested in good food but the only one I have been to was Storytellers for breakfast and that was your typical Disney breakfast foods.

Which one is the best? Do you feel that it's worth the money?

Goofy's, Storyteller's, and PCH Grill all do both breakfast and dinner buffets. No characters at Storytellers and PCH Grill dinners. My preference is Storytellers.

I wouldn't suggest PCH Grill for their dinner buffet. I tried this on my trip in July and it wasn't worth the cost. I really liked the menu but in person the food was just meh. And for the cost you could get a better dinner somewhere else with better quality imo. For example Blue Bayou. We love buffets but DL just doesn't have the offerings like WDW does. We also tried Storytellers breakfast and it was delicious. The Salted caramel French toast was out of this world delicious!

I know a lot of people really like Goofy's kitchen, but I think food the quality has gone way down hill. Also it's a very loud & chaotic experience. And least the lobby while you're waiting to be seated is. Depending on where you're seated it's not always bad once you're inside.

The one time we had dinner at Storytellers we weren't impressed either. But, we've had a lot of breakfasts there & mostly enjoyed it, so that may have just been an off night.

We've never had dinner at PCH Grill, but it's our favorite breakfast. And normally I've heard good things about the dinner there. If I were in your shoes, that's what I would try.

We really only go to Goofy’s for the characters because the food isn’t great. I haven’t tried Storytellers dinner but the breakfast was pretty good.

Does it have to be buffet or are you open to other options? There are lots of really good non buffet restaurants and my experience is if you’re looking for really good food, a buffet is probably not the best option.

I did Storyteller's dinner buffet. The food options were fine, but the service was extremely lacking. They only took our drink order for one round and never refilled our water glasses. We tried to order more drinks, but our server seemed to be MIA.

For the dinner buffet what did they offer for food and was the food itself good? Our service for breakfast was really good hopefully you get better service next time and others don't have a bad experience.

If you are interested in good food, you do have other options, like Carthy Circle Restaurant, Napa Rose, or Steak House 55. Pricier than a buffet, but food is a lot better ::yes:: If you set on eating at a buffet for dinner, I've done PCH Grill and Storyteller and both were good. Storytellers seemed to have more options though.

This last trip we received complimentary vouchers for Storytellers cafe. We were given the option of either a regular sit down dinner or buffet and bc we normally don't do buffets we decided to give it a try since it was free. Omg! It was SO good! So many options and so delicious! We had a group of 5 with all different likes and dislikes and everyone found something and even went back for seconds and thirds! Their green beans..I can't even! Sooo good. My vote is Storytellers for dinner!

Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone. I will look into it a bit more.

I'm definitely open to other ideas because I would love to have at least one nice sit down dinner on our trip, but my boyfriend did mention a buffet. Just trying to make it a really good first trip for him and fit everything he wants in.

He's a chef, so food is kind of a big deal to him. Personally I've never been a big fan of buffets and I worry that a Disney one wont live up to his expectations.

Storytellers is one of the best meals we have ever had. We go everytime we go to DL or Los Angeles.

We have always enjoyed storytellers for breakfast or their dinner buffet. But I second what others are saying, if you want to impress him Blue Bayou, Carthay, Steakhouse 55 or Napa Rose will do it for sure, and you don't have to keep getting up for more food.

If he's a chef maybe he would appreciate the Napa rose chef's counter that I've read on here about. This is supposed to be a special experience.

We have done Goofy's Kitchen and we like it. Is it the best food ever probably not but everything bundled with the character interactions makes it wonderful. It is a must do for DD and DH. I have seen very good reviews on Storytellers so we will add it to our list to try.

I was thinking about doing this but there have been some recent reviews that said they only got what was on the menu, nothing special, and the interaction with the staff/chef was lacking if at all. Since your boyfriend is a chef, he may get more interaction but you might want to check. If you go the chef's counter, I'd make sure you noted that he is a chef.

While the atmosphere at the Blue Bayou is second to none, we have had better food at McCormick & Schmick’s Grille near DL. We love the Blue Bayou and the food is good but we did not find it to be great.

It's LA, you might want to take Lyft and take him one of the 5 star restaurants.
