Disneyland Birthday FastPass Question

My partner's birthday is July 9. Since there is a group of 4 of us, he's generally decided to share the joy and select the birthday fastpass option. Two questions:

Is the group birthday fastpass good for both parks, just one of your choice, or Disneyland only?

Thursday is an early entry day. While we are not likely to get there at 7 am, having just arrived the day before, we will be there by 8. How long will it take to get the fastpass and get going? I'm guessing Nemo Subs will be hopelessly packed all day because we won't be there at opening, but we're likely to be busy enough with the fastpass and high-capacity attractions anyway.

thanks,
Dirk

You get FP for 4 rides, two from each group (Nemo is NOT included), for up to 6 people. Personally it's not worth $69 but if your friend wants to share the wealth, so be it.

From the BDay thread:

There are two types of Fastpasses being issued, being named after Donald and Daisy Duck.

Donald:
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Rodger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin
Indiana Jones Adventure
Soarin' Over California
California Screamin'
The Twillight Zone Tower of Terror

Daisy:
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Autopia
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
Grizzly River Run
Mulloholland Madness

Main Entrance Vacation Planners will distribute both Donald and Daisy Fastpasses to the Birthday Guest, and up to five other members of their party.

They will be valid for one use on one Attraction on Donald's list and one Attraction on Daisy's list, and will be collected as normal Fastpasses by the appropriate Cast Member at the Attraction upon redemption.

Reports aren't consistent, but it appears the number of fastpasses handed out depends on the day's attendance at the parks.

Hmm, glad I posted my question. It looks like I generously interpreted the birthday options from the Disneyland website. It says,

A birthday FASTPASS® exchange card+ for a certain number attractions at both Disneyland® Park and Disney's California Adventure® Park;

I just assumed "a certain" was their way of covering the number of attractions offering fastpasses since that could change. Well, as they say . . .

So, from the info you posted, it seem like it could be as little as 2 FPs total (one from each list?)

Is there a link to the birthday thread. I need to do some more reading. If the FPs are that few, it might actually be worth while for him to get the freebie admission for him, and then use my remaining day on an old WDW park hopper (pre Magic Your Way) to get an extra day for me (if they still convert those at DL). (We are already buying 6 day hoppers, which appear to be the max) but have the potential of 7 days of visits.

Aaargh! Just when I thought I had it all planned out!!
