Disneyland August 2021: Magic hour? # of Adults at Grand Californian? <-- Help! :)

So is it correct that only GCH guests and those with dinner reservations can use the GCH/DCA entrance at all times throughout the day? What about the Downtown Disney entrance? Is security checking room keys to enter and exit that checkpoint?

Prior to July, you had to have a key to get into the Grand via the DCA or DTD entrance. As of our last visit, it was back to anyone could enter via these 2 entrances. Only one requiring a key was the front gate at the Grand.
