Does anyone know what the AP discounts are for stays in early December? They indicate on the website that they have them, but we aren't AP holders yet, so I don't know how much they are going to be or if it's worthwhile.

I'm assuming I can access the rates provided I have an AP during the actual vacation.

What are your dates? You have to have an active AP in order to see the hotel availability.

It appears there are a couple days during that that are eligible. Not the whole week.

This is a good question...
I'm going in Oct 4th through 8th and will be purchasing an AP.

I have flights booked for a return trip arriving Wed., Dec 2nd and departing Sat., Dec 5th.
Are there any AP specials for those dates at any of the three hotels?

TIA

A few of the dates are available at the hotels, but not all. PPH has Ap rates available Fri the 4th, DLH has Ap rates available Thur and Friday and GCH has Ap rate available Friday.

Oh interesting! So does that mean if I were to book and had an AP, I would pay regular rate some days and AP rates the other days? Is it a significant discount?

Yes that's what it means. I didn't check for the regular rates so I am not sure how much of a discount it is. I'll take a look right now!

DLH for Dec 7-12 without an AP is $1989, with an AP it is $1820.52 so $168.48 less with an AP. This includes tax.

This is for a standard view room.

Wow, thanks for checking!

It looks like they don't really offer a significant discount to passholders. We were thinking it might be worthwhile if there was a decent AP discount, but with the current Canadian exchange rate (yikes!), we'll be staying across the street for this year! Thanks so much for checking!

It is only a discount on 2 of the dates out of 5.If all the nights had been discounted it could have been a $400 savings.

The other side of it is the hotels are consistently full, there is no incentive to offer a discount.

Do you have a Disney Visa? They were offering 20% off at the resort hotels. I booked GCH standard Dec 7-10 for $1630, which includes 1 4-day hopper. It would be $300 less without the hopper.gchpkg.JPG

No, I'm Canadian. So we don't get a lot of the promos/tie ins you do, sadly. Otherwise, I would definitely consider a Disney visa because my kids are such fans. Or the Disney vacation savings account. The current exchange rate is killing me though.

Orbitz has a 15% off offer right now that helps a bit - we're staying in the late Nov-early Dec timeframe and the Orbitz deal averaged out to about the same a the AP rate right now. AP rates tend to be better in the off season (think Jan-March).

Just FYI even if you don't have an active AP you can call in and they will tell you the AP rates over the phone, online you can only see them if you're active. You can even book the AP rates over the phone without one as long as your AP is active the day you check in.

Sometimes the AP offer comes out ahead just enough to do it over Orbitz. Also if you don't like paying ahead booking direct only requires one night room and tax. I actually compared both Orbitz with my orbucks and code versus direct and for our dates it still was cheaper by $50 -$150 booking direct. Also , not all categories are always available for booking via Orbitz like concierge or theme park view , etc. It just depends what they release and it can change constantly same with direct - something could be available today then POOF. It happened to me recently so I'd rather book early and have to cancel than not have what I want. Thankfully both Orbitz and DTC have great cancellation policies.

Sometimes the closer it gets the better prices get if they aren't selling , however that can be a risk because sometimes one day will be available but not consecutive. Just play around with dates if you're flexible.

Just an FYI Orbitz has a 20% off DL hotels, that you can combine with their current 15% off promo code right now - we are booked for the beginning of Dec at the GC and it ended up being a little cheaper with them than it was for the AP rate - like the PP stated it varies day to day and depending on what room type is available at the moment, and whether you're ok with pre-paying. For some reason the rates at the GC went way down for our timeframe in the past week (both with DL and with Orbitz), so we ended up cancelling our PP res and rebooking at the GC for only about $40 a night extra.
