Disneyland Announced a Re-Theme of Hungry Bear Restaurant

A BBQ and barbecue mean different things when I hear them. Someone having a BBQ means hamburgers & hot dogs. Having barbeque, to me a least, I am thinking grilled/smoked meat with some type of sauce.
They mean different things to different people in different parts of America. IN some parts of the South, includes chicken while other parts it's only pork or beef ribs. Looking forward to seeing the new menu.

Uhhh...not in the South! If you say "barbecue" you mean slow-cooked, smoked meats, typically pork ribs or shoulder, or briskit, and maybe also smoked sausage or even bologna. Hamburgers and hot dogs do not a barbecue make.

I hope the restaurant though remains a quick service, maybe something like Cosmic Rays at WDW with a simple animatronic show. It'd be great if the Country Bears show was still there.

And in some parts of the country, “BBQ’d” food simply means pouring BBQ sauce on foods conventionally cooked. What you described may be true BBQ, but it’s never been that way at WDW or DL :).

I think this is a creative way to breathe life into what’s otherwise just another restaurant. The Country Bears are a Disney classic. As another poster suggested, if they added animatronics it’d be a great and enjoyable way to entertain guests, who otherwise wouldn’t have interest in seeing the show :).

I just want somewhere to get a plant based hot dog!!! Please give me something on this BBQ menu!

Have you tried the Ronto-less Graden Wrap at Ronto Roasters? Plant-based (Impossible) sausage... but yes, would love to see good vegetarian options when Hungry Bear re-opens!

As someone said earlier in the thread, I would love to have that fried green tomato sandwich back! While I did join the dark side and eat meat now, I like to lean toward vegetarian items still, and it's nice to have something other than impossible burgers/meat (they are way too salty for me).

I would also love an animatronic to honor the country bears! Even something simple like they have at Ronto Roasters would be nice.

I'm definitely excited about a change to BBQ for the Hungry Bear! One thing I hope does NOT change though -- is in the late afternoons, all of those lovely empty, shaded tables looking over River of America! My service dog and I always enjoy taking a break there, wave at the train and its passengers as it goes by and just rest. He usually falls asleep for a little while and I upload the day's pictures to my social media. lol. It's one of my favorite relaxing places in the park, so I hope there are still times to do that when it's quiet!

Disneyland Resort has announced that the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country at Disneyland Park will soon become the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree!

What do you all think about this?
Oh please no, please tell me this is an April Fool's joke, even though we're in August. Hungry Bear has been a family favorite since the 80's. I love their burgers and fries. There's just something special about eating dinner there in the evenings when we're tired, while drinking soda. I admit the burgers aren't to die for. But let's face it, NO food at DL is Heavenly delicious, lol. Does anyone know if they'll still serve their burgers?
