Hi everyone,

My husband and I are attending the Disneyland and Southern California adventure in Sept of this year. We just paid off our balance in full this morning. I asked our vacationista if she had any information regarding Oogie Boogie Bash. On Day 5 as per the itinerary, we are to have a VIP World of Colour Viewing. However there’s an OBB party that night so I know there will be no WOC viewing. Some previous groups have been offered OBB tickets for that night. From what she could see, nothing was noted on our account regarding this (at least yet).

My husband and I would rather go to OBB that night and ditch the tour if they are doing something else. And we want to be prepared for when tickets go on sale. However, if we are going to be offered tickets that night then we won’t buy. But if we aren’t, then we want to be ready to book them when they go on sale.

Does anyone have any insight? If this happened to you on a previous tour would love to know what you did/when you found out. Also what’s the chance we WILL be offered tickets? Do we just take a chance and not purchase tickets in hope that they take us. Or purchase and if they take us then we just wasted money on extra tickets that are non-refundable.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

We’re also travelling Sept, but Oogie Boogie falls on Day 3 for us. I’ve booked via a travel agent and I’ve asked the exact same question. Especially as night 3 is a ‘free night’ for us. She has contacted Disney to ask, but hasn’t heard anything back.

Her advice at the moment is to book Ooogie Boogie, and then try to get a refund. But accept that we may not.

If I hear anything I’ll let you know.

I did this one in September 2019. So, I went thru my digital clutter and found the email that told me the Oogie Boogie Bash ticket was added to my adventure on August 28 for adventure that started on Sunday September 15 of that year. OOB was for the Thursday night of that trip.

Another option to consider - it’s been reported that Disney has held some Bash tix for hotel guests, available early on the day of the Bash somewhere in the lobby. If you don’t want to get into the massive online queue hoping for tix for a specific night before they sell out ( last year the queue wait was hours!) or get tix you can’t refund or resell, you could try for hotel tix on day of.

I got an update today from my travel agent.

“At this time, they are not intended to be included in the experience. They did say that if you purchased them independently, they can assist with a refund, if that helps.”

So I plan to try and get tickets and then seek a refund, if needed.

Bah dang it! I’m planning to call ABD Wednesday (the day before tickets go on sale) and see if I can get one last answer from them. Are you on the Sept 22 trip or the earlier one?

Good luck! I’m on the earlier trip, just at the start of September.

Yes!! I called yesterday morning and the vacationista was able to tell us tickets were included. I SCREAMED in excitement! And then saw the email in the evening confirming it! I’m sooo happy it’s included and I don’t have to purchase on my own today and worry about a refund

Yay! That’s great news!

We got an email today saying Jim Henson company is currently unable to accommodate tours (no other explanation) and instead we will be taken to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Has anyone gone here? I looked at the website and have never been so uninterested in something in my life. It looks royally boring. Someone please convince me this will be worth it. 😭

We got the same email 😕 I think we are the ABD tour before you.

I went onto the Jim Henson website and they aren’t offering any tours due to their production schedule.

I believe the Adventure went to the Academy Museum when tours first resumed after Covid and some studio things were not yet fully reopened. I seem to recall comments here from other tour attendees?

I have been, on my own not with the Disney group. I would not call myself a huge movie buff, and I found it interesting. Lots of movie history. There is a permanent exhibition on the history of animation which includes Disney items. A rooftop plaza with amazing views of LA and the Hollywood sign. Fascinating room with a movie backdrop painting, who knew they were SO large?

If I understand your tour dates from earlier posts, this won’t help you but for other tours later this year the Pixar Toy Story 3D Zoetrope will be back starting 29 September; for me that alone is worth the price of admission!

Not sure how Disney will run things there, but if you have time or the option to go off on your own and if automobiles are of any interest, the Peterson Auto Museum is right across the street and is another good one.

We did that as a substitute for the Day 2 afternoon activity on my first trip (the roof was being replaced that day). It was an interesting museum, but we didn't do anything special there. We just had two hours to go through the exhibits. They had a lot of Star Wars props and a good exhibit on animation; those were my favorite parts. It's not as good as Henson Studios, but I would still recommend going. There also isn't much you can do between the morning theater tours and lunch, so you'd probably just be walking around Hollywood, which there's plenty of time for on the first day.

Unfortunately, ABD will no longer be going to The Jim Henson Company Lot. I was on the ABD the first week in August and learned that we were the next-to-the-last ABD group who would get to be there. They actually are relocating to Burbank, so maybe ONE day eventually, it will be an option again with ABD (fingers crossed). https://ktla.com/news/local-news/jim-henson-company-expected-to-sell-historic-hollywood-lot-report/
