IM going to be at Disneyland in Jan. My favorite movie is Lampoons Vacation and I was curious if there are any locations still there (buildings, scene spots) from the movie (since it was so long ago). Are there any plaques or anything? Anything to get a pic with/in front of to mimic the movie?

Also how far from Disneyland (with traffic) is KBF?

in the end I dont have an interest in "going" to the park unless I can get some good movie memories. If not, thats more or less what im looking to know from you guys!

Thanks!

I have no idea about things California. I was told it was KBF but if its MM where's that?

Knotts less than 7 miles from Disneyland....

but wasn't Vacation filmed at Magic Mountain?

Yup! According to the Wiki...

"Walley World is represented in the film by Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California and Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. Santa Anita Park's large parking lot and blue-tinged fascia serve as the introduction scenes, while all park interior scenes were shot at Magic Mountain. The two roller coasters seen in the film are Revolution, which can be recognized by the vertical loop, and Colossus, the double-track wooden roller coaster."
:confused3

Just looked online. sure enough its magic mountain (which I see is far away).

Nevermind :(

Magic Mountain is a fun park if you like roller coasters and thrill rides. However, if you don't, there is little there. It also caters to a rougher crowd than any other SoCal amusement park, as evidenced by the fact it's the only park which sends it's guests through airport style metal detectors to enter the park. They do have a small Bugs Bunny world for the kids, but it's very small and the kids will be done with it in very little time if the park isn't very busy. I, personally, am enough of a ride chicken that while I'll go on every ride at WDW or DL, I'll only go on about 40% of the rides at MM, since I'm not in the 18-25 demographic that loves to ride stuff that makes you sick and makes your back hurt for a week.

Unless you have teenage boys and love extreme coasters, it's not gonna be worth the drive up.
