So if you were going to DL with your partner and no children what would you plan to do? Now we are all Disnay fans so are big kids at heart so all the rides are options!! So what rides would you do, where would you eat, would you do any tours, where would you stay? Now this is all hypothetical so money is no object (nice huh!!) and you are having 4 days in the park?

So how would you spend your time?

My husband and I went to Disneyland with another couple about 15 years ago and we had a blast. At that point, we had never been with kids (my husband and I spent a day at Disneyland on our honeymoon almost 20 years ago), so we just did whatever we wanted, which was to stay at the park from opening to closing and just rode rides. (This was, obviously, all pre-DCA and DTD!)

oh yeah... my dream!:lmao: Stay at the GCH, of COURSE.. Ride as many rides as we can... Eat at the BB, HOB, that fancy place at the grand whose name totally eludes me right now..:lmao: I would shop.. Alot!!! and it would be so ice to get through the stores without a stroller.. maybe the jazz Kitchen.

Yes, going without kids
Then you could eat at the fine dining places they have there and not have to worry

If going without kids, you might want to consider doing the wine tasting at DCA.

Stay at GCH. Get a massage there. Lay by the pool and have lunch and drinks there. In the evening, have a cocktail by the fireplace.

Try a tour like the Segway tour in DCA or A Walk in Walt's Footsteps.

My fella and I are going in early March.

We're not going to worry about character meals, or lining up to get in photos with any characters either - except maybe Lightning and Mater

I don't think we'll worry about watching any parades - unless we end up in a great spot right as one is starting :thumbsup2

We will hopefully be there from opening to closing each day we're there.

We're going to take it pretty easy the first day, because it's my boyfriends first time there and I don't want to overwhelm him on the first day. :scared1:

We're going to eat at the Blue Bayou one day, but may not do too many more sit down dinners, because the thought of having to work out both tips and taxes just confuses me a little too much :upsidedow

I'd like to plan my trip more then what I have, but I've already gotten in trouble because my fella is more of a "let's wait and see where the holiday takes us" kind of guy... :sad2:

This is actually going to be our first holiday where it's just the two of us  so I'm a bit excited about that, but I'm also nervous... What if we don't have anything to say to each other unless there's someone else there we can talk to?? :rotfl: I shouldn't laugh, it could happen... :)

The last time I was at DLR, even with kids and staying at the DLH, the other moms and I got massages at the GCH (while the dads took the kids to the parks), and we had cocktails while lying by the pool at the DLH...:rolleyes1

About a week after TOT opened, DH and I flew down to Pasadena to attend a wedding. Before we flew home, we drove to DL and went into CA just to ride TOT a couple of times, then drove to the airport to fly home. :cool1:

My DBF and I are talking about doing this for his birthday. With our best friends of course. :) If we do it will tons of fun and completely different from our usual stays with the kids. I won't plan anything......unless he says to, if he wants to eat at BB I'll plan it, otherwise it will be low key and just do what we want fun time. I like the idea of staying at the GCH and getting massages.....that would be fun.

So who can tell me roughly how much one of these massages would cost? :rolleyes1 How early would you need to book to get in?

Well, I honestly don't recall how much the massage was when I was there a few years ago. (I just charged it to my room and didn't look at the bill...I didn't really want to know. ) I do know we didn't book our appointments until we were already on property and it was during a busy week (12/18-12/22, when Christmas fell on a Friday that year).

We actually did honeymoon in Disneyland for a week and it was wonderful! I recommend lots of smooching! We did lots of smooching! We were revolting. :rotfl:

Money is no object? Do not miss the Vineyard Room in DCA. Dinner for 2 with wine pairings was $200 but it was worth it as a one time indulgence. For a more moderate price, Storyteller's, Hook's Pointe and Ralph Brennan's are among our favorites. We've only done Goofy's Kitchen with our kid, but the childless adults we travel with go there on their own too.

I cannot do the Story Boats before dark. They're just so perfect all lit up. I get one ride with HusbandMan on Small World each day. Because he loves me. :) Fantasyland is less hectic later in the evening because most of the toddlers have been taken home.

We've never bothered with tours, but if you can wrangle an invite to Club 33, do it. Don't fuss about the money, make it happen. It's worth it.
