Hello! Can anyone offer suggestions on Disneyland accomodations for 5 adults in June? We will be in Disneyland for the first time for 2 days. Any deals available? Are the Villas at the Grand Californian open and available for cash payment? (we are not DVC members.) This will be our fist trip to Disneyland, but have been to WDW over 30 times! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

First, if you have date flexibility be sure you get fully informed about AP Blockouts. See "Understanding AP Blockouts and Impact on Crowds" http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2365983. Also check "The Scoop on Grad Nights at DLR in May and June" - www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2298400

As for accomodations, I do not know about DVC cash only. I have never done it but people do sell their DVC points so that is an option. The GCH has rooms for 5 but it will be tight. They do have $uites as well for larger groups.

If you want to go off-property than you have a plethora of choices. I and many others around here place a premium on hotel location over quality and hence prefer the walking distance hotels. See this thread and the links it gives -"HydroGuy's Hotel Rule" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199862

Hotels that offer a good balance of location and a step-up in quality include HoJos and CCI.

Have a magical trip! pixiedust:

If you have a Costco Member ship Costco Travel does Disneyland Packages, which include a Free Premium Character Meal. Another good travel site for DLR vacations is Get Away Today, if you do not have a Costco Membership.

As far as places to stay, as HydroGuy mentioned, there are a plethora of choices. You can also check out reviews on nearby hotels at Tripadvisor.com. Another recommendation that I have is to get the book The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland. They update it every year and it is hugely helpful in planning. There is info on hotels, food, etc. I always check out the current year at the library before we go.

We have a family of 5 and will be staying at Portofino Inn & Suites in April. I haven't been there before, but I liked the option of the Kid's Suite, so that we can spread out a bit. We've also stayed at Paradise Pier and Fairfield Inn in the past. We had good experiences both places, but we had one less family member, so this time we were looking for a place with a little more room.

I hope that info helps. Good luck! :goodvibes

When I checked 10 days ago the Villas were available for cash. The 1 bedroom was $1010/night. We decided to rent points for our August trip.
