Disneyland 70th speculations and news

Now I'm confused. The 70th and paint the night will continue through Halloween. When I look at the Plaza Inn dining package for the parade it says it ends Aug 21. I'm hoping this has not been updated to reflect paint the night during the Halloween season. Anyone have any speculation on whether that dining package will be available after Aug 21? It would make sense to continue it as they've always had dining packages for the parades.

Paint the Night may not be running at Halloween.

No one knows the schedule yet. But even if it is, they may changing the dining package, or not have one.

PTN is running during Halloween. Disney has officially confirmed it.

I don't think the lack of a dining package means anything. They are likely offering something else during the fall at Plaza Inn.

Disneyland Resort 70

The fusion of fall favorites and the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration is truly a sight to behold.
Not only will you get to experience all of these awesome autumn festivities, but you still get to enjoy 70th Celebration entertainment. Anniversary offerings that will continue throughout the Halloween season include the dazzling “Paint the Night” parade, the nighttime spectacular “World of Color Happiness!,”Tapestry of Happiness” projections and thematic nods on Toy Story Midway Mania!
Areas and attractions around the resort will retain special touches, including decorative accents and the colorful castle photo opportunity in the esplanade. Interactive MagicBand+ locations and the Key to Disneyland lock stations will remain available.

Plaza Inn dining package may change to Haloween Screams fireworks.

Why would someone pay for a 11pm slot? There was tons of space/openings at parade time when we were there last week.
They do it for WOC and Fantasmic

Why not, if people are paying thats all Disney should care about

Also if the parade is back for Halloween then they should have dining for both the fireworks and PTN

With WOC you get dessert, drinks, a designated place to sit and a collectible pin. With Fantasmic, you get access to the closest and best seats for the show.

With the PTN parade dining you get popcorn and squished into a single seating area. There is plenty of nearly identical seating available along the parade route for free. I think it is just a difference in kind, not quantity.

But you’re right that if people will buy it, Disney will sell it 🤪

The tour gives popcorn. The dining package does not.

The dining package seating was not squished. While I agree that there is plenty of room to view the parade from other locations, I've been more squished at Fantasmic dining. It is very CM dependent at Fantasmic. Some shout at guests to fill every available space. Others don't.

I've had a strong suspicion that they aren't opening Walt - A Magical Life to the public until the 18th.

The Disneyland Story is still listed as being closed on the 17th (not on the 18th), and D23 just announced this "special preview" for 6:30am on the 18th:

EDIT: somebody said the above to Scott Gustin on Twitter/X, and he says it's opening on the 17th. *shrugs*

I feel bad for anyone making specific plans to visit the park on the 17th for this specifically only to have it randomly moved after it was announced to be premiering on the 17th.

Did you notice that the D23 event is at 6:30 am? I wonder if they are going to have a MK preview as well.

Mee too! We were going to miss it by several days anyway so it'll have to wait until next year for us. But if it's delayed I hope they announce soon so people can alter plans

Yep! Just seems weird that the 17th seems to be boxed out for some reason. And that could just be an innocent error and/or coincidence.

My initial instinct was that they were using the 17th as a Media Day and/or for MK previews (since it seems like they would need a large part of a day to get MKs through it). But I also would have expected them to announce MK previews by now if that were in the cards.

I'm still curious to hear how they're going to handle Day 1 - ie, whether they'll resort to a VQ, at least in the morning.

From an operational standpoint, they're not necessarily going to need MK previews as a dress rehearsal, like they would with a ride (to figure out loading and unloading practices, etc). They can easily do operations rehearsals without an audience.

Coincidentally, the 17th is now completely open wide for (unblocked) MKs.
