Pooh Corner and Toontown still had a supply later in the day. This is Pooh Corner.

Lines for Key lock stations. It was inside the store in the back. Notice the tape on the ground. They had to create queues because there were so many people doing this.

That's nuts and no thanks. This type of crazy crowds and demand takes all the fun out of stuff like this.

Oh my. That area in Adventureland is so crowded to begin with! I hope the madness over this dies down by the time we go. Yikes!!

I do think with social media, a lot of people get fomo over all this stuff. However I do realize that people who pin collect are also hard core!
I bet it will die down after a while. Also maybe there are less crowded times to do it, like later in the evening. Are you going in June?

I wonder if all the keys have different pins, and if people have been getting duplicates.

Fun times. The only time I look like this is leaving the Character Warehouse in Orlando but that's old B stock that is on clearance and we are stocking up and getting good value on our merch. I just hope they have put that new warehouse they just purchased to good use and there are thousands of boxes of these ;)

Not an official Disney thing on the 70th but I'll be hosting an open house in the Grand Villa at the Grand Cal on the 17th. For those DVC nerds who want to check it out (hopefully remodeled) keep an eye on the Grand Cal thread in the DVC resorts area of the boards for future news/info.

Lots more kids and tourists today. People still buying keys, but it is more FOMO since they sold out yesterday.

Post its, pens, postcards are hard to find, as is the beige jacket. Baseball jersey is very popular for both men and women.

I will try to get an estimate of the size of the box of the $99 castle. I think it is approximately 10" cube.

Thanks for looking!! Ride times still seem pretty low, I'm hoping since we go in two weeks that it stays that way lol

Hi.. I got here on Thursday night and will return home tomorrow.

A) 70th tour
I did today; wouldn’t recommend it or do it again.
The guide was fun, and kept us entertained with DL history tips, however nothing that hasn’t been widely known before (ie, how was the experience of the multitudes on opening day, what opening day attractions are still running..)

Highlight was some Walt Disney audio nuggets in the audio device through the tour. And a very nice pin.

The LL was Mickey Minnie railroad. The seating area is for the first PTN parade near the flag pole in Town Square, facing the street.

The tour started at Main Street, went into cinema to show Steamboat cartoon. The tour audio device played some original advertising radio messages. Then we walked to hub area; then walked into Fantasyland, some comments on opening day attractions plus the refurb led by T. baxter. We jumped to the railroad to ride to New Orleans station.

When we got into NewOrleans square the audio device tour had Walt Disney talking about this square, and how he wanted the experience to be, the river atmosphere etc; very nice. We jumped into Mark Twain ship, some commentary on the history of it.

Then we walked towards Frontierland, here we got a 10mins break. Then walked to Small World, and then we finished at the Pixar mural in the theater.

I’m not sure I will watch the PTN parade in that seating area as I like seeing castle projections but will decide later today.

B) 70th entertainment
- PTN parade is a very good one. Music and visuals are very catchy IMO. Lots of performers doing their very best. Totally worth it.
- Wondrous fireworks. It is my favorite ever and above HEA which I adore LOL. Yesterday I sat down in front ot the castle around 6pm (!)
- the Cavalcade. It is nice but I didn't like it as much, it felt an afterthought, or not as fun as it could have been if they approach to it as the It’s a good time at MK, very interactive and just couple of floats needed.
- the Tapestry of Happiness. Awesome, the music and projections are so emotional and well done.
- Better together parade is very fun to watch.

C) 70th merch
A lots! But nothing that got me feeling “I need this”, so.. I haven’t purchased a thing so far.

Parks are clean and beautiful as always, thr 70th anniversary is just another excuse for me traveling here again :)

Parking was also empty today. My guess is that locals are going to arrive later so they can stay for the nighttime entertainment. If that holds, it means visitors will get more hours of low crowds in the morning.

We are doing a staycation so I'm posting from my phone. Please forgive any typos.

Below are pictures of the $99 castle box next to a pair of 5-6" glasses. The 10x10 cube I was thinking about was the snow globe.

If you are interested in the Mickey popcorn bucket, it is $50.99 with chips at certain locations and $55 with popcorn. I see a lot of guests buying this to surprise their young children. By surprise, I mean that the kids dont realize that Mickey talks.

There was some talk up thread about the stainless steel cup below. I was looking at it and the CM made sure to tell me that it is not leak proof. There is a sipper type opening on the top.

We received a notification on the app today. They must have had a problem with traffic control last night.View attachment 966141View attachment 966142
LOL, I love the upbeat wording of "Grab a spot early!" like everyone would otherwise show up 10 minutes before the parade and Disney is giving them an insider tip, when it's obvious that what they really want to say is, "Knock off the hoarding spots for hours, people! Don't show up until two hours before the parade! You're driving us batty!"

You're awesome, thank you soooo much for those pictures! Might have to bring an extra suitcase for that box lol.

Can I ask where the castle was located, was it the Emporium?

I took those pictures at Merlins but I also saw it in Elias & Co in DCA. Earlier this week it was at the HOME store in DTD.

The merchandise is EVERYWHERE and they keep restocking.

This pic is from Elias & Co.

Thanks for sharing!

Did you end up using the spot on Main Street for PtN? I’m trying to figure out what to do for PtN and WJ.

Fun story- I've been browsing 70th merch on eBay and the like today. Didn't buy. Not up for debate if that is good our bad.. but I watched in real time as eBay sellers dropped their prices.

I've been paying attention to resellers... has anyone else noticed that in recent couple of years Disney just keeps things stocked better. I think sellers started dropped when they realized Disney was keeping stuff stocked.

Anyway- I just came across a review of the WOC dessert party for happiness and it came with a keepsake pin!
