Disneyland 70th Anniversary Plus 2025 Holiday Calendar

But it is already high

So you want less people for Halloween? My Guess is this is for one year for the 70th

Money wise this makes little sense, because the lines speak for themselves....people online want the OG mansion but the lines do not show that

Anyway, congrats to the HMH hates...you win this year
Attendance was flat in 2024 as compared to 2023. I suspect the refurbs parkwide did that. Lines are lines. People in line are not spending money. HMH is a draw and more popular. I was looking forward to it for my August trip oh well. I am going in August and may this year. I enjoy HMH.
I do not think the 70th has anything to do with it. Remember there were tickets sales through Sept 2024. No sales this year and moving the biggest attraction draw to the busiest season is a very smart move for Disney. $$$!

Yeah, I get not changing it in August, but I would have expected it by late September. There is a lot that needs to be done to set up for holidays on Nov 14 - the castle, IASW, trees in both parks and hotels, decorations throughout the parks and DTD. They start in October, but that is because it takes so much time to get it set up. I'm surprised they added HMH overlay on top of everything else.

I agree that this is probably for the 70th.

Agreed. I honestly think it budgetary. Doing all the holiday changes at once.

Lines on Rides tell you if thats what is drawing those people in

Yes they are not spending money now...but getting you in in a step to that.

Also HM is a people eater it having a line 90+ mins tells a story

If this is just how they do it moving forward....cool I guess but to me just makes Halloween more lame...we want more holiday entertainment and attractions not less.

How long does the overlay take? I assume they want HM open on Halloween. Do you think they will close it on Nov 1?

I agree. But this is all about the money. They maybe theming HM with traditional decorations. Who knows. Disneyland has to change its marketing. Disney cares about the Oggie Boogie nights...more of those this year..
I know HMH is more popular than reg HM and has more of a line - longer wait times. Disneyland is shifting HMH to the holiday season. Probably for Budgetary reasons, marketing and calendars.

While this decision won’t affect me personally, I do feel for those that usually go in sept-oct and will not have HMH this year. Especially those that travel from other countries. Seems like an odd decision to me. I don’t recall it opening this late during the 50th or 60th anniversary celebrations.

Yes visitors will have to adjust. I am now thinking this is part of the marketing for the 70th and the holiday season.
The hmh overlay will take place and the regular HM will be open in August September and October.

Since we're going on our already once delayed trip in August, I'm thrilled we won't lose the chance to get to ride Haunted Mansion. It's my favorite ride and I was really sweating it that we might get it down while we were there since Halloween Time has been pushed up. This is a huge relief.

Honestly, the Christmas overlay never made sense to me before Halloween. Christmas season, sure.

Yay! It's about time the HM will be open all through the Halloween season. When we visited in October 2023, we talked to a CM at Jungle Cruise. He asked us why we would rope drop JC. LOL. Also, what we thought of the HMH overlay. We said the HM needs to stay for Halloween no exceptions. We work retail and see Christmas in July & August. It would be nice to see HM stay haunted for the spooky season. CM said majority of CMs and even visitors agree. Definitely a welcomed change.

Curious what's going into the new attic space in HM.

I didn't even think about this

Many people saw when Halloween starts and assumed HMH would be open....once again some online don't like it up that long but the general public likes that version of the ride

I'll also be interested how it affects the parks crowds and other rides lines.

I assumed that when I booked my August 2025 trip that it would be HMH. Going in May too figured that would be regular HM. I was looking forward to seeing both in one year. This should have been announced when they announced the 2025 dates.

Referencing the 70th, have they announced if they'll have any dessert parties or dining packages with the nighttime parade or 70th fireworks? Or what date do we think they'd announce something like this? We are going end of June and trying to see what "extras" we want to do.

Absolutely nothing yet. Disneyland has been dragging its feet announcing this type of thing for a while. Just keep checking here and on DL website. There is plenty of time until late June.

So yes, it should be open on Halloween and if its not...then no idea what they are doing
I, too, expect it to close on November 1st. It is, after all, a haunted mansion, so it's perfect for Hallowe'en in its natural state.

Having said that, I think it was brilliant of Disney to introduce an overlay based on a movie that's about both Hallowe'en and Christmas, allowing them to roll out the overlay for the first holiday and keep it going through the second.

It will be interesting to see what happens in 2026. Maybe they'll get feedback that visitors like having the OG HM for Hallowe'en and cut back HMH in future years. Who wants to set up a betting pool with a 2026 calendar? 😁

Not sure about 2026 yet. I have a feeling the HMH overlay will be starting in November from now on. 50% chance. It seems odd that the 70th celebration would prompt that change. Disneyland added more Oogie nights in August this year and I assumed HMH overlay would open in August this year. Go figure. I agree the mansion will go down on either Saturday Nov. 1 or Sunday Nov. 2.
