Disneyland 70th Anniversary Plus 2025 Holiday Calendar

Do we think the after hours events will sell out same day they are released?

I did Sweethearts nite in 2022 but wasn’t too impressed with it, mainly there for the characters and their lines are all far too long.

90s nite interests me more but just did Jollywood over in WDW and met a whole bunch of 90s characters (rescue rangers, baloo, Louie, Powerline max, Clarice) so not sure if I’d be repeating too much.

My main purpose would be for rare characters.

Yes

I would assume all will...maybe Oggie could be there for a day but beyond that has never happened

I think Star Wars was the only one to not sell out right away last year.

Not to be too simple minded: but my daughter would like to go to "Pixar Fest": based on the calendar, the obvious answer is no Pixar Fest for 2025. Now the Pixar Parade is happening, but thoughts on more "Pixar Fest" type things happening? I'm thinking not much due to the 70th: just would like to hear other opinions.

They added most the Pixar Characters from fest as meet and greet characters

I met Luca and Albirto and saw the Elemental characters out

Really only thing missing is the Pixar area at the Fantasyland theater and the pixar fireworks

For 2024 -

Sweetest Nights sold out quickly, but it took several days.

Star Wars and Pride Nights sold out, but it took awhile.

Disney Channel Nights sold out, but not until days before the event. Some speculate Disney stopped selling tickets… which may explain why it’s not returning.

Oggie Boogie Bash sold out in a week, its slowest pace in awhile.

That said….. you never know how things will go for 2025, so you’re interested buy immediately. The Christmas parties at WDW sold out at a faster pace than last year, so maybe the tides are turning.

Star Wars nights took like 5 weeks to sell out this year. I agree with OBB - with the 4 additional nights - it will take longer to sell out.

When does everyone think nightly Fantasmic performances will start? On Friday May 16th? Friday May 23 - before Memorial Day Weekend? I know F! came back from the fire hiatus this year on Friday May 24 and F! went nightly through Labor Day 2024. Coordination with the 70th?

Do you think there will be Paint the Night Parade dining packages? Magic Happens Parade is not coming back for the 70th.
Also wondering if they will do a 70th themed guided tour?

I get back from my WDW trip and I find out about all the cool stuff happening after my planned DLR trip! We are currently booked for March 7 - 11. I just went to DLR in July but family members want to go and I was going to just tag along with the toddler for more family time. Do you think the special 70th anniversary events - especially Paint the Night and the new Walt Disney animatronics show - are worth postponing the trip until after May 16th? I was thinking of doing the week of July 4 again, as the crowds for that weren't bad last year and we could add the Disneyland trip on before our planned family reunion taking place July 3-6.

I wouldn’t base 2025 crowds off of 2024. We left and returned to the parks last night around 6:30pm. It took about 20 minutes to wait for a bus (TS parking lot) and another 20 minutes to clear security (side note: DL really needs to have a separate line for those without bags). I get it - it’s the holidays but crowds usually aren’t like this in early Dec. At 8PM, most everything had an hour wait… except for Grizzly River Rapids, which had no line (and empty rafts).

I think the increase has a lot to do with increase MK sales.

I just got back and it was packed....but crowds were normal for the most part outside HM and Small World overlays getting longer lines but ROTR whenever I checked it was 45 mins and Cars was 60-75 which is pretty normal

I will be interested to see if any of these events grab people outside the holidays but I feel crowds will be normal or slow considering the deals they are offering up until the 70th. Also while we do have lots of MK they stopped selling tickets pretty quickly and I've been unable to get another day for the next like 3 weeks for a while now and I have the highest MK....so think if there are crowds its mainly do to more people coming in with single tickets

I agree. I've been trying to get Dec 13 for at least a month and it hasn't opened. I think it is because it is the last day for Enchant.

I've noticed that the dates are blocked and then they open a few at a time. Frequently same day reservations are available in the morning.

I keep trying at 6 AM and randomly in the day and just nothing on certain days and I've checked with normal tickets these dates are wideeeeee open

It's also why I think many who think its packed just have no idea we used to have sold out dates now....its pretty darn rare

Crowds were much lighter yesterday than Monday. At 7:30PM, we had our own private screening and ride in Runaway Railroad… odd.

I’ve been following MK availability and it’s been tight this week, although every day but Friday is frequently open. Next week has been readily available, which is odd… most local schools begin their three week break on Friday. We will see how things go.

We were at Knott’s on Sunday. Unbearably crowded — we usually go for the holiday entertainment (like A Christmas Carol) but unless you wanted to wait for a couple hours, it wasn’t happening. Once the sun went down, everyone got out of dodge, so I suspect the chilly temps are taking its toll.

Unbelievable the number of people, especially grade school aged boys, in shorts and t-shirts at DL. Must be coming from the East and just assumed CA would have WDW weather. Although WDW has gotten really cold temps in recent weeks…

The SoCal offer for the first 4.5 months of next year is the lowest priced ticket on weekends in years — probably around a decade. We will see how this impacts traffic into the parks…

That’s the issue I have with MK. When we did them a couple years ago, weekends in the summer were booked well in advance. Given the limited reservations you can make, you had to keep aggressively checking for availability. And the problem is, it’s a huge distraction. Not cool for a pass that cost around $2K.

We’re considering getting the lowest level key when they go back on sale. You can park for free at TS typically after 7PM, so would make a great option to do after work on weekdays. Would be far easier to get our money’s worth.

I'm fine with a basic system to keep crowds fair.....but yeah at this point they are literally just hording spots for people getting tickets but I mea come on its 12/11 if people were coming to the DLR they would have tickets by now.

Also I really....really wish you could leave the park as a MK and release your spot so another person could come in at night.
