We have finally decide we are going back to DL. We have done both WDW and DL and have deicde to go back to DL in 2010. I can't wait. I love this park so much more then WDW. Now the count down begins. Now which resort would you stay at. Disneyland hotel our Disney Grand California?

Disneyland Hotel.
It is cheaper and not to mention better.
It is older than the Grand Californian but still holds more magic.
It's not just magic for kids but for adults to.
And I don't know how you could wait 2 years!?!?

Yay for a 2010 DLR trip!

If you have a little extra to spend, the Grand Californian is an incredible place to stay.

I think the ambiance, decor, view and closer proximity to the parks makes it a wonderful choice.

Either way, you're going to Disneyland!! :cheer2: Best of luck with your planning.

I've stayed at all three hotels and my favorite by far is the Grand. It has such a close proximity to the park that I feel is invaluable. The atmosphere is so great- it is such a relaxing place to be after a long morning in the park. The fireplace is our favorite place! Also the piano in the lobby is so nice to listen to. You aren't so far away from the Disneyland Hotel that you can't enjoy the great areas it has offer.

To me there is no choice, yes it is more expensive but if you can afford it I say go for it. :thumbsup2

Also no choice here..Grand Californian all the way.

Grand Californian, hands down! I love both hotels for different reasons but the Grand is absolutely fabulous. We had really high expectations of it and they were far exceeded. We love the proximity to the parks, the private access to DCA (which is great for getting soaked on Grizzly River Rapids and then running up to the room for a change of clothes), the ambiance, the beds (particularly love the bunk bed option but I'm guessing DLH has this as well), the service is incredible every time we stay. We just love it there! I just wish our trip wasn't still 35 days away! I can't believe you're waiting 2 years!!!! I'd be nutty. :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

Personally, I'd stay at HoJo's and go this year AND 2010 for probably the same amount of money. :)

I would love to go this year but we are moving this summer. So we thought save alot of money so we could do it right. We've been before but what resturants would you recomend? I want to do it right this time.

Well, Blue Bayou, just because you have to. Alot of people have raved about Napa Rose, but we didn't care for it. I have heard great things about Club 55 (Steakhouse 55?) at DLH, so can't wait to try that. I really love the bread bowls in DCA..everyone seems to like the corn dogs in DCA too, so I will need to try those. Churros! Frozen bananas!

What exactly is a churro? Someone else mentioned them but I have no clue what they are.

Well, it's hard to know if the restaurants are still going to be the same quality in 2010, but right now my recommendations are:

Vineyard Room (DCA)
Wine Country Trattoria (DCA)
Carnation Cafe (DL)
Storyteller's Cafe (dinner buffet, Grand Californian)
Steakhouse 55 (DL Hotel - their breakfast is excellent, too!)
La Brea Bakery Cafe (Downtown Disney)

The ambience in the Blue Bayou is great, but their menu just doesn't appeal to me - except the dessert menu. :-)

Thats why we never eat at Blue Bayou. We have done the Storytellers cafe for breakfest and thought it was good. Have to try the dinner buffet. Thanks for the reviews.

Go to BB just for dessert!! Make a PS and just order dessert and coffee, you'll still get the experience but you won't have to order the food. Get the cookie boat! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

A churro is a big breadstick type thing covered with sugar and cinnamon....soooooooooooo good.........definitely get one, it's so worth it!!

I would stay at the GCH for sure!! Definitely my favorite hotel! Altho I have yet to stay at the DLH. lol But even after I do *and I will* GCH will still be my favorite.
