We did a quick 1-day park hopper last Saturday, March 15th. I don’t think I’ve EVER been so cold at Disneyland!! Even in January, we were able to chuck our jackets halfway through the day. This time, we had layers of jackets and hooded sweatshirts. We even had to go back to the car so DH could get his ski jacket and beanie. :cold: The people wearing shorts and tank tops looked miserable. That wind was whippin’.

Anyway, the crowds weren’t as bad as I thought they would be for the beginning weekend of spring break. Most rides we waited 15 minutes or less. We hit Nemo right after park opening, and it was probably 10 minutes. I loved the joke at the end of the ride about sea serpents and mermaids. Nice little tribute to the old sub ride. :thumbsup2

Okay, the bad – we had an hour before the electrical parade at DCA, so we decided to go over to DL to use our Indy past passes. By this time, Adventureland was packed with people. So we joined the herd and made our way to Indy. Just as we walk up, a CM is announcing that the ride has closed. :sad2: Great. So, we decide to go back to DCA to wait for the parade. Got a great spot on a bench. This is what I was looking forward to most on this trip, since I haven’t seen it in a few years. And I actually remembered to bring my camcorder this time! :hyper: Just my luck - 5 minutes before the parade is supposed to start, it starts to rain. Then, it starts to pour. Then the announcement comes that the electric parade has been cancelled due to inclement weather. :furious: Great. So, I was done with Disney at that point, and we bailed, along with hundreds of other freezing, soggy parkgoers. Too bad it ended that way, but at least the earlier part of the day was fun. Anyone else there for the big freeze last weekend??

We were there the Thursday before and it was windy. They canceled the fireworks. Indy was having problems all day when we were there. Twice we walked up and they said it was closed.
I was surprised at the lack of crowds as well. I expected it to be jammed packed, but it wasn't bad at all.
Sorry for your cold day :(

Oh, and didn't you love how it stopped raining just a few minutes after they cancelled the parade? :headache: I guess it gives me a reason to go again this summer! :thumbsup2

I think we lucked out! We were there from the 9-12 and had amazing warm weather the whole time. I guess you'll have to go back and see it all.

yeah, you should have seen the parade back there, they were all rushing to get the electrical parade under cover hoping it will die down to go again. The pretty were all gone when the rain stopped. Thats how quick the got the parade under cover... :)

haha, i was merely giving the brigade their stock, then had to go back to do something else. :( But we were giving the Cotton Candy man more Cotton Candy in the rain. Ironic i know, but it has to be done or else im gonna get my butt kicked by you guests... :)

Oh good, someone else had okay weather too. I was beginning to think we really weren't there on Saturday! We were there probably until 12 or so too and had chilly but fairly nice weather. Gee, I didn't even hear it rain when we were back at the hotel. Sure glad we missed it!

I don't mind Disneyland in the rain. It can be pretty fun actually. And I prefer cooler weather. The 60's are the perfect Disneyland temps, in my opinion. 50's aren't too bad either.

About 5 years ago my family went to Disneyland in the winter. One day it was as you described: cold, windy, and pouring. We purchased rain ponchos and were in our glory. We felt like we were the only ones there and we walked right on all rides with no waiting.

We are from Western Washington and this is the warmest that we had been in months and we are very used to rain so we really enjoyed ourselves. I did feel bad for the cast members as they we all freezing. Many said it was the coldest it had been in years.

I am so sorry that the weather ended your good day but as you said it is the perfect reason to go back soon.

We were ther 9-7 and it was not that bad. I knew the high was to be 57 so we were prepared for it...

Had a great day though..

Those of you who left early on Saturday had the right idea! Yeah, the weather really wasn't too bad in the morning. But once the wind picked up in the afternoon, it got way too cold for me. I love it when it rains at DIsney World, since it's nice & warm. But this rain was cold, and it cancelled my parade! It would have been the ideal time to go on rides though, since everyone was scattering like cockroaches. That was a very weird day. In all my years of going to DL, I've never seen weather like that. Just my luck! :thumbsup2

we were there the 15th and 16th and it was totally freezing but so much fun at the same time! the parks cleared a bit due to the rain. we were at fantasmic saturday night, they "postponed" it and we went to fantasyland. i heard it being performed so we waited for that showing to be over and hauled over to frontierland and ended up with seats dead center on the fence! :cool1: it was pretty cool...literally and figuratively lol. we bought some overpriced blankies to go with our layers and they helped a lot. i still had a great time regardless of the weather :thumbsup2

We were there Fri 14th - Tues 18th and I did not think the weather was really all that bad. But then again, we had snow on the ground when we left home. :cold: I actually think that the cool weather made for little crowds and short lines for us! We were expecting it to be packed due to the first real wave of spring break, but it was not bad at all. We talked to multiple cast members and they pretty much echoed those comments as well.

Monday was not even that bad, much busier than the weekend, but still manageable. Now Tuesday was packed! It had also warmed up significantly that day though. The whole time we were there they even had both the Mark Twain and the Columbia running on ROA because they assumed they would need both due to crowds. We were all thrilled to get to ride the Columbia since that is a real treat!

Friday night the fireworks were cancelled, Saturday Fantasmic ran but no fireworks, Sunday we watched DEP, watched the fireworks up until the Haunted Mansion part and then they stopped and cancelled the rest, then watched the 2nd Fantasmic, Monday we watched DEP & the fireworks without Tinkerbell (poor Tink... but that's another story), and then Tuesday we watched the fireworks again (without Tink). So luckily we were able to see everything at least once!

So, what's the story about Tink? Inquiring minds want to know . . . . .
