I just checked my June 29th departure date & it went down this afternoon from $107 (booked) to $77!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have $239.20 credit for our return flight!!! Yay! I am so SIKED!

Everybody...check those summer SW dates NOW!

I did my usual check today and was so excited to find the price drop. I book Chicago to Orland, July 1 - July 10 for $74 each way!! Woo hoo!!

Lori

Our flights went down $20 a person. I would have liked to have used that credit for the early-bird checkin but another Dis'er said they were told they could not do that.

man I guess OKC fares are not gonna budge for me, I am hoping to get a $99 fare but no luck yet lol....I check several times throughout the day ;)

Thanks! When I checked earlier today, there was no change. Now, it's dropped from $116 o/w to $97 o/w. Not a whole lot each way, but I just bought R/T tickets for 6 of us. :scared1: so you saved me over $200.00 and I got the flights I've been watching!

Thanks again!

thinking about booking on Continental for $274 O/W for the 2 of us,SW wants 188 plus tax pp, I get nervous waiting the game out :confused3

Awww-thanks for thinking of me and looking out for me and all the others waiting for lower fares. I did get in on the sale so I guess that's all that matters. I'm just touched that my fellow Diser's are so thoughtful! Glad for your savings as well! Saving money on a vacation just raises your spirit more, doesn't it?! Thank-you!!!!:thumbsup2

My flights out of Long Islando 115, went down to 89! Yea..
Funny thing I was going to cave and buy them 2 days ago,
But i was lazy and said I will buy them tomororw and the very next day they saved me a bunch of $ YEA!!

Just need our return flights!

Check your flights again everybody. Mine went from $77 to $67 today  . That credit for our return flight is just growin' :yay:!

Ok, I'm a bit confused. I too have bought tickets, and found that one leg of our trip in now lower than when I bought them. How does the credit work? Do I have to call them? Thanks in advance.

I checked them and the flights still start at $74, however, the flights I booked have actually gone up!!! I have a feeling they will go down at some point though. That is how they get you to buy from them again- give you a credit so the next time you fly, you want to utilize the credit, so you book with them again.:teacher: Thanks for the heads up though!:thumbsup2

Sadly ours didn't budge at all but we are flying over the Memorial Day weekend so maybe that is why. I went ahead and booked the fully refundable fare since it was only about $40 more. Now I know we have the flight we want and IF it goes down later I can rebook. Our flight coming home we are using a Rapid Rewards Award ticket for the two of us.

I feel your pain. I'm out of Tulsa and I'm just not seeing the "luv" this year. When I went in December I was actually able to get my SW airfare down to $190. Of course, that was a solo trip and now that it's the whole family - I can't get it below $300. per person and that's with a lousy schedule.

I keep checking several times a day for my late June departure and July 11th return!!

I was originally looking for July 2 - July 11 and the fares weren't budging. I changed to July 1 - July 10 and snagged the $74 fare. If you have some flexibility, maybe you can get a better fare?

My dates are June 26th-July 11th!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I always check the fair calendar for the entire month to see when it's cheapest to fly. With 6 of us (maybe 7 this trip) every little bit of airfare adds up!

This is not good & I'm gettin' worried. Southwest has raised all the rates for my dates. We may need to change airlines for our return flight. My outbound fare (which I scored for $67) has now risen to $85 (still pretty good IMO), but that nasty return flight rate that WAS $147....is now $152 :scared1:!!!! It's the first time this fare has changed since being released in Dec. What does this say...other than this is a popular flight time/day? Can folks REALLY be booking at this $147 fare?

I realize we're returning after a holiday (4th of July) and a lot of folks are probably trying to fly home, but it's a Tuesday for cripes sakes :confused3 .

I'm just hoping SW is doing some sort of fake out and it fails and they HAVE to drop this rate.

A girl CAN dream can't she? :rotfl:
