Me ( DisneyAunt) the obsessive planner, even have potty breaks scheduled

DF (The Wanderer) My father who has been to Disney several times before but has no idea what he is in store for when traveling with us. BTW you’ll understand why we call him the wanderer as the story progresses.

DM (Queen Mommy) Never been to Disney and has no idea how much walking is involved even though we told her. She is a mother, always worrying about everyone else and make sure that we all eat.

DSIL Pregnant with 3rd child last hooray before baby

DN#1 (Happy) 7 year old nephew also 3rd trip. Pretty smart kid. Sometimes to smart for his own good.

DN#2 (Dopey) 4 year old nephew also 3rd trip. Does not stop moving, does his own stunts, and doesn’t smoke (you’ll understand this later)

The day has finally arrived for our first full day at the parks. :cool1: I was exhausted we went to bed late and my automatic internal alarm clock woke me up at 6am. I stayed in bed for a bit to see if I could sleep a little longer but couldn’t. I kept hearing these strange noises :listen: …..what the heck was that…sounds like they are cutting a tree….could it be possible on Disney property so early in the morning. Wait…..no one is cutting a tree…it is the Wanderer and Queen Mommy snoring away in harmony. I apologize to our upstairs neighbors if your floor rattled.

I got up out of bed and went into the kitchen to get some coffee brewing. While that was going I quickly jumped into the shower and started getting ready. I had to go to Epcot Guest Relations at 8am to pick up my temporary DDE card and to activate my Annual Pass. My plan was to get ready and go do that while everyone else got ready. Well by the time I left.Queen Mommy was showered and dressed and having coffee, DSIL was in the shower, the Wanderer was still in bed but it takes him seconds to get ready, and Happy & Dopey were still in bed and unconscious to the world.

I dashed out the door about 7:45 to get to Epcot. I pull into the Epcot parking lot and I realized I was being directed to the handicapped lot….could it be because I have a handicapped placard hanging from my rear-view window. At first I felt guilty because I didn’t have the handicapped person with me…but I was only going to be 5 minutes and there were only 7 handicapped parking spaces used so there were a ton more. And I didn’t take the closest one. I parked further away so please no flaming. I briskly walked to guest relations and very easily get my DDE card and my New annual pass. I am back at OKW by 8:25am. Great timing.

I walk in expecting to find everyone dressed and ready to go. NOT!! Happy & Dopey are still in bed and refuse to get up. The Wanderer was having breakfast and Queen Mommy was doing the dishes. Hey Queen Mommy…..we have a dishwasher here….toss those dishes in there. DSIL was ready and couldn’t believe I was back so soon.

We finally get the boys up and ready. So we decided to bring some snacks and drinks with us. I had made shirts for everyone and they were all wearing them Queen Mommy had on a shirt with a pink mickey head and crown the said Queen Mommy and The Wanderer had on a shirt a blue mickey head with crown that said King Daddy. Dopey had his Power Rangers shirt and Happy had his Mickey Fantasmic shirt. DSIL had her Minnie Shirt. The shirts looked really good. Thanks Julia&Nicks Mom for the designs. Oh and I wore a Birthday shirt with my favorite character Goofy on it. Yes it was my birthday :bday: and I was excited to be spending it in Disney and I wanted it be a special day.

Our Plan was to go to Magic Kingdom and then head to MGM for the afternoon and have an early dinner at the Brown Derby for the Fantasmic Dinner Package.

We get to Magic Kingdom parking lot around 9:20am and I didn’t want to park in Handicapped parking because it would be to far for Queen Mommy and the Wanderer to walk so I asked the parking lot attended if I could park on the end next to the tram and the nice man said of course. Thank you nice man :wave2: . We got out of the car and I took a picture of the back of our car and the number where we parked. Can you tell I have lost a car or two in this parking lot. We hop on the tram and in no time are walking up the ramp to get the monorail. It looked desserted. Happy and Dopey asked if they could ride in the front of the Monorail….I said yes but they have to politely ask the attendant. DSIL agreed if they wanted to ride they would have to ask. So they bolted off ahead of us. As we were walking the woman next to us asks DSIL about riding in the front of the Monorail she explains it to them and then that woman whispers to her 2 boys….run and maybe you can get ahead of them to ride in front. :earseek: I HEARD THAT!! I turned to the woman and told her that wasn’t very nice. She just ignored me. Hey lady I hope the Monorail doors closes on you :wizard: !! Well the boys got to ride the Monorail and they ask the Wanderer and Queen Mommy to ride with them. They were thrilled.

We get to Magic Kingdom and the dreaded ticket machines. Ughhh….I really dislike the biometrix. The wanderer couldn’t get it….they finally let him in . I had trouble with mine to. I thought my family was bad …you should have seen where other people were trying to put there fingers, people were pushing the #2 button, putting there fingers on the outside of the box….I saw a woman trying to shove her whole hand in the tiny box. I think Disney needs to do away with it…it really takes to much time.

The first thing was to get an ECV for Queen Mommy and the Wanderer to share. We were all explained how to use it and Queen Mommy and The Wanderer decided to argue as to who was NOT going to ride….the wanderer didn’t understand why he should use that….and queen Mommy thought that the Wanderer should use it exclusively. After a good 10 minutes of standing there deciding who is going to use….I told Queen Mommy she was going to use it first and then switch off with the Wanderer when he got tired. Well….I want to first apologize to anyone that Queen Mommy ran over. You see Queen Mommy has never driven a car and doesn’t know how to ride a bike….well she is not very coordinated….and Main Street was pretty crowded and it didn’t help that Happy switched her from turtle speed to rabbit speed. It was not good…..it was actually quite comical. :moped:

I told DSIL that we were to head to City Hall so that I can get my Birthday Pin. I was going to walk on ahead with Happy and for her corral everyone and meet me over there. Well I got my Birthday Pin but no phone call ….oh well..no problem we had lots to do. I got back to my group only to find that we were one person shy….you guessed it the Wanderer was missing…..now where could he have gone…..we start looking in the immeadiate area and then I spot him coming out of the Barber Shop…..what the heck was he doing in there…he has no hair to Barber!! We make our way to him…Happy pipes up and says…..Wanderer you know you are not supposed leave the group unless you tell someone. This kid is going to be my saving grace this trip. Wanderer informs me that there is a real Barber shop here and some kid is getting his hair cut. I humor him and tell him I didn’t know that and then Dopey adds his two cents in and says yes you did you asked us if wanted haircuts here. Ok kid…keep your mouth shut.

We start to head down Main Street and Queen Mommy is having a hard time with the ECV…people keep walking in front of her and into her. ….yes this time it was the people….I couldn’t believe how inconsiderate people were…they just don’t pay attention to where they are walking. Queen Mommy was getting a bit nervous and then didn’t want to ride anymore…well the Wanderer wanted no part of the ECV and said he would walk…..so it was left to the pregnant SIL. We were headed to Buzz Lightyear first DSIL was driving and loved it….of course we had to stop and wait for Queen Mommy and the Wanderer boy they move slow….but at least we knew where they both were…you see Happy didn’t want to lose either of the so he was walking with them holding both there hands….it was the cutest thing. He was also prepping them for Buzz. We get to Buzz and there is no line whatsoever….before we get to the cars I explain to Queen Mommy there is a moving sidewalk and you need to walk on it and get in the car…..she looks at me and gives me this look that only mothers can give you. She says I think I can figure it out. Ok….Queen Mommy suit yourelf….I get on with Happy first, then DSIL and QueenMommy….wait there is DSIL…where is QueenMommy….here she is running on the movable walkway trying to get in……well she finally makes it in just before the “door” to the ride closes. Me being the good daughter just turned around and laughed and said I told you to be careful…and what did Queen Mommy do….she lasered me with the gun……yes my own mother shot me :confused3 . Well we all loved Buzz and rode 4 times without waiting. Each time everyone rode with someone different ….and yes Queen Mommy became an expert with the moving sidewalks. No more jokes about that! Dopey and I always have a little saying when we get on rides…I always tell him he “Dopey, No smoking.” And he replies in a deep 4 year old voice “DisneyAunt I DON’T SMOKE!!” We do this for every single ride….yes…every one….we don’t miss a beat.

Although I hadn’t counted on riding Buzz 4 times in my schedule we were doing ok on time. At this point my DSIL goes to retrieve the ECV and neither Queen Mommy or the Wanderer wanted to ride in it….so she putted along side of us. Mental note …that was a huge waste of $40 on that Ecv no one wants to use…cause the refuse to acknowledge that they can’t keep up. The kids were walking faster than they were. We head to Fantasyland and the Dopey and Happy see the Tea Cups and of course they want to go on and there is virtually no one there. DSIL can’t ride because she is with child and the Wanderer takes one look at them spinning and says I’ll wait right here…..I’m thinking sure you will….I almost tied him to the ECV so he wouldn’t run off…but I thought that would look bad. As for Queen Mommy she was in on this ride….I looked at her and asked her if she was sure….before I finished the sentence she was on line with the boys. DSIL decided she could wait to go on her potty break because she had to get this on camera….and she was worried the Wanderer would ….well …wander. We get on the Tea Cups and of course what do you do when you get on there but spin…..if I wasn’t there and heard it with my own ears I wouldn’t have believed it…..QueenMommy kept saying spin faster, spin faster…..what….I was about to throw up and this 60 something year old lady wants to go faster. Dopey and Happy had no problem going faster and I was glad the ride stopped….I though I was going to toss my cookies. And QueenMommy came out ok on that….she loved it. Her inner child was out and there was no stopping her now and she was definitely not riding in the ECV. Now you may be asking yourself why am I pushing QueenMommy and The Wanderer to ride the ECV its, because she has had several foot surgeries and has difficulty walking and the Wanderer…well…he has some serious health problems and we thought he wouldn’t even make the trip. Just want to make sure they have enough stamina for the rest of the trip.

Anyway DSIL continues to ride the ECV we ride Pooh, without a wait, SnowWhite without a wait, we see Philarmagic and I think that was the first 3d show QueenMommy has ever seen and both QueenMommy and The wanderer loved it. They were amazed at the smells they wanted to see it again…and just like I tell Dopey and Happy its not in our schedule right now but I will fit it in again before we go. And yes….I said to Dopey No Smoking and on que he Responds I don’t SMOKE! We head to it’s a Small World…now I have seen this countless times and I used to love it….but once at band camp…..ooops wrong line….but once my boat got stuck in there for 15 minutes, it was like a slow death listening to that song. I had ridden it back in May when it re-opened it looked pretty good. Everyone was anxious to ride and for the sake of the group we went in….It was about a 5 minute wait…..but very entertaining….The Wanderer was talking to all the little kids….it was pretty funny…I don’t know what it is with kids they all seem to like him and play with him…what is even more disturbing their parents let them talk and play with the Wanderer…..he is harmless. We get on the boat and everyone enjoys the ride and QueenMommy starts singing along towards the end of the ride….that was enough for me….even Happy asked her stop.

At this point it was time for a scheduled potty break. No one had to go….ok…I said but don’t say I never asked. It was about 11:30am and we were hungry we decided to beat the crowd so we headed to the Pinocchio Village Haus for lunch…But Before that we grabbed a fast pass for Peter Pan and it was perfectly timed after out lunch. Lunch was good and we got in at the right time…..as we were finishing lunch there were mobs of people coming in. (BTW does anyone know why they ONLY serve Sugar Free Jello with the kids meals. I would never feed that sugar free crap to the kids) Good timing….Anyone need a potty break the bathrooms are right across the restaurant. Everyone except the Wanderer had to go. We were hesitant to leave him alone at the table….but we thought it would be ok since he was still nibbling on his fries. So we made our way through the masses of people with screaming kids waiting for their feed. Thanks TGM for tips on eating lunch!! We find the bathrooms and Dopey and Happy want to go into the Mens room…I don’t know about you but we don’t let them go into the Men’s room by themselves…just not happening. DSIL gave them 2 choices either it was the Ladies room with us or they could pee their pants….which do you think they chose?…exactly….with that dilemma over as we make our way back to the table where we thought we left the Wanderer…..yes…exactly…he is not there…so where could he have gone….QueenMommy says lets wait a few minutes maybe he will return…..and I’m thinking maybe he won’t. All of sudden we here Dopey scream and he is not standing like a normal boy on the floor where he should be…he is standing on the table…now how the heck did he get up there ….he makes a flying leap off the table…..it looked like an old Bugs Bunny cartoon in slow motion….he managed to land on his feet and takes off running from the direction we just came from. Ooohhhh….he almost took out the lady with the tray full of food :duck: for her hungry cranky kids….sorry to whoever that was. He is out of site….where did he go…..oh there he is….he has the Wanderer by the hand….and scolding him. I wish I had my camera ready….there was Dopey dragging the Wanderer back to us….telling him he was supposed to stay put and he shouldn’t leave without telling anyone. I asked the Wanderer where he went, he said he had to go to the bathroom…..WHAT!!!…didn’t we just ask you and you said no. I decided it wasn’t worth it, and we needed to get on the way if we were going to keep to my schedule. DSIL pulled Dopey aside and reprimanded him about jumping off the table, he tries to explain that he had to be taller so he could find the Wanderer. Dopey has a habit of jumping off of things and climbing where he is not supposed. He also falls and dives…and before he can hit the floor shouts “I’m ok!” At this point Happy and Dopey both had the Wanderer by the hand leading him to Peter Pan and lecturing him….what a sight that was. We ride Peter Pan and everyone enjoys the ride. And oh…BTW…many CM were telling me Happy Birthday because I had a birthday shirt on and my MK B-day pin. And yes…Dopey and I continued our routine about somking. :confused3 :rotfl: :rotfl:

The kids wanted to go to POC so that was our next stop. Which was fine with me. No one wanted to ride the ECV….so I decided to jump in and go for a ride….you don’t have to tell me twice. As we headed through Liberty Square Queen Mommy and The Wanderer make a pit stop…..Yes they stuck there heads and arms through those thingies…and what a picture. :rotfl: :rotfl: I think I am turning them into Christmas cards. Many people stopped and looked and laughed….and commented on their matching shirts. And then of course the boys wanted to go….but couldn’t reach, so Queen Mommy tries to lift Dopey…and I quickly snap the picture. Didn’t want either of them to get hurt. We are still following my schedule…so no more Lollygagging! We make our way to frontier land and I made a spontaneous decision that we should see the Country Bears….I thought The Wanderer would like them. So I park the ECV and we wait to get in the show. A few minutes go by and Happy shouts out ….someone must be sick! We all look at him…as do about 30 other people around us. DSIL says to Happy…what makes you say that? Happy says….don’t you guys smell that??? Well yeah…we smell that but we are adults and not supposed to say anything. DSIL…is trying her best to shush him….the Wanderer pipes in and says yeah…someone must be sick…smells like…either that or no one cleaned up after the bears. Great Wanderer egg him on. Happy…continues to go on…..it really smells in hear and no one even said excuse me for ripping one!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Now Happy is not a shy boy…but he is not one to talk to strangers. Well he starts to ask people around us…who farted. We were all mortified, although we were trying very hard not to laugh. People were laughing around us to. Happy proceeds to say…who ever farted should go outside next time….because there are to many people in this room and it isn’t polite. Well with that being said the doors opened. (I have to add it really did stink) We got in and sat down and enjoyed the show….it was cute I hadn’t seen it in a while. The Wanderer really enjoyed …he took a nice nap, but he said he enjoyed.

I discussed with DSIL that we would do POC and Tiki Room and then head to MGM. And that is what we did….we rode Pirates which everyone loved and the boys were so eager to ride it because I was going to point out a few of the hidden mickeys. They were big on hidden mickeys this trip. Everyone enjoyed the Tiki Room. ….and yes so did the Wanderer…well he took a another little snooze. I though for a moment we should go back to OKW for an afternoon nap, but I was overruled by everyone. Ok….off to MGM.

We get to MGM…and I was very excited…because it was to be my special birthday dinner at The Brown Derby and then were going to see Fantasmic. Our ADR was for 3:50 which I though was perfect. My plan was to go in and walk around a bit and then eat. After Dinner maybe catch a show or see the Osbourne Lights and then head to Fantasmic. But that was my plan which was I didn’t know wasn’t going to happen.

I decided that I was not going to get an ECV instead I would get a wheelchair and either Queen Mommy or the Wanderer would go in. So Queen Mommy jumps in first and we make it just in time to watch the Holly Days Parade which was great.…we got there just as it was started and managed to snag a great spot. Everyone loved the parade, the Wanderer wanted to ride in the wheelchair…he must have been tired. QueenMommy being the nice lady she is…let him have a turn. We were a few minutes late for ADR at the BD..but no worries…we are in Disney and there was a Parade. We get to the Brown Derby and I check in ..the nice lady tells me it will be about 5 minutes. No problem…we all do a potty break and go to sit in the lobby and wait for our table. We get called before we can get comfortable. We are shown to our table and our waiter Peter comes about 10 minutes later. He takes our drink order….DSIL….asks him about my b-day cake :cake: …he says he will check on it. He comes back with our drinks about 10 minutes and takes our order. DSIL asks again about my B-day cake, he says they are looking for it. Looking for it????? :earseek: Replies DSIL. He said yes…but don’t worry we’ll take care of everything. Let me tell you it took forever for the food to come. We ordered the Pork Loin, the Filet Mignon and the boys ordered the grilled chicken with mac & cheese. The food was ok but the service was awful….at this point it was 6pm …yes we were sitting there for almost 2 hours. Thank goodness Happy and Dopey are good kids and know how to behalf in a restaurant (Dopey controlled himself and didn’t jump off of any tables). The Wanderer however was getting a little impatient….as was I. All I wanted was a birthday cake :cake: for a special birthday…that’s all, is that too much to ask. DSIL asked for about the 5th time about the cake. Finally Peter our waiter owns up to the fact they don’t have one. What you don’t have my birthday that we ordered?. How could that be? He said he was going to talk to the manager and see what they could do. It was now 6:15pm and Fantasmic starts at 7pm. I guess we weren’t going to have time to do anything else besides rush to Fantasmic. I was getting a bit nervous because according to TGM’s schedule we have to be there at a certain time…and what TGM says goes for me. The Manager Greg comes to the table and explains that he is here to make everything right. Great…I say…so you have my birthday cake. He says no….he doesn’t know what happened to it. He apologizes but that doesn’t make up for me not having a Birthday Cake. He said he was going to try to make everything right. He asked if we had our dessert I said no…we haven’t even ordered dessert and we need to leave to get to Fantasmic. Oh…..he says…..I explain to him that we did not expect to be here this long and that we had planned on doing some other things before Fantasmic. He asks if we wanted any Fastpasses. I know I am going to get flamed but I said no…because the FP are for rides we don’t ride. I told him we just need the check right away and if they could pack our desserts. I barely looked at the menu and ordered 4 things….the kids desserts were ice cream so that wasn’t going to be to good to take with us. He came back with our 4 desserts in a bag and our check. I was a bit disappointed he didn’t discount our check for the big screwup and for how long it took for dinner. I’m still trying to figure out how he was going to make everything right. Anyway…we head out of there. BTW I would never eat there again. The food is ok and the service awful and they lost my birthday. If anyone ate my birthday.…I hope you enjoyed…it was supposed to be chocolate.

We get Oscars Garage to our “private” entrance to Fantasmic….I didn’t know what a long walk that was going to be. And to make matters worse…I was pushing a wheel chair….up those hills. That was a work out. We manage to make it to Fantasmic and get some seats in the back….they were really good seats. It was getting chilly and we had left our jackets in the car….yes…I know….it was warm when we were in the car and we forgot to bring them. As we wait for the show to start someone starts the wave :thewave: well it went on forever. Our side of the theatre(right Side) tried to get it going back to the other side (left side) somehow it would get lost int he middle somehow. We had a persistant man on our side that continued to do the wave until it went all the way to the end. Thank goodness...he finally stopped. How much of the wave can you do.

Fantasmic started and we all really enjoyed the show….The Wanderer was in awe and Queen Mommy really enjoyed when the lake turned into fire because it warmed her up a bit. The show was awesome….I would definitely see it again!

We leave Fantasmic with the 10,000 guests :crowded: . We head to the car and head back to OKW. We get back “home” and we decide to eat our desserts….I put some coffee on and the kids watch TV. DSIL, Queen Mommy and I are at the kitchen table and The Wanderer went to bed.

The desserts were ok nothing to write about. The coffee hit the spot. All in all we had a good day…but I really wished I had my birthday cake. I announce to my gang that I will have a do over on my birthday the next day….everyone agrees. Queen Mommy really felt bad about me not having a birthday cake. I told her it was ok…and they would have to sing Happy Birthday to me the next day. We make it to bed my 11pm. Everyone is tired. We are all excited for the next day. We are going to Epcot and meeting up with my cousin and his GF. We can’t wait to ride Soarin’. Until tomorrow……..

So sorry about the birthday cake and how silly that they weren't upfront about not having it, a real time waster :Pinkbounc Loving your reports though, very funny,

Claire xx

Happy Birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuu
Happy Birthday to you
Hope you had a wonderful vacation

DisneyAunt, you sound like such a nice person. Happy belated birthday, and I hope you had a better birthday on day 3! :flower:

What poor customer service at dinner:(

Hope your '2nd attempt' at a birthday is better. :cheer2:

Love your trip reports! Sorry your birthday didn't turn out as you planned...hopefully the next day made up for it!

I am really enjoying your trip report. I am so sorry they lost your birthday cake! That is really sad.

Sher

ready for the next bit now!

So sorry about your cake - my friend ordered a McD one for her boy's birthday party and they forgot to get it out of the freezer. You know what its like when its the end of a 4-yr old party, the kids are getting manic and you just want the parents to take them away. Anyway, my friend is not one to notice that everyone else is having a meltdown - in her head the party has to have a cake or everything will have gone wrong and people will criticise her -so they pull the cake out, hammer some candles in, and we all sing. Then of course friend wants them to hack it into slices for the party bags...... we just picked up ouor bag and slunk off at that point!
