I obseved they offer videos and games, so the kids are supervised while they entertain themselves. I agree, its way too expensive for the treatment the kids seem to get.
Think about it, I did daycare at a Park District, I got to interact with my assitant teacher, as well as supervise the kids during "free time" I also managed to assist them at an art center, or offer painting (something kids LOVE! and water colors and paper arent that expensive imho!) AND we offered a snack, however due to state regulations we were required to POST the snacks, and that way a parent could inform us of any difficulties (so if you offered pop and water, the parent would say something and you could tag that kid with a sticker - again experienced in supervising kids at church nurseries!)
It takes a little time, a little planning, but they are getting a lot of money too - wdw overhead cant be as much as ours was at the Park District!! I wonder how much the supervisor/adults receive even if it is $20 an hour, that's 2 kids worth, and if they average 8 - 10 kids a night... it could just break even... it always comes down to money -
