Parks are open except for Animal Kingdom I think they are letting the animals calm down after last night, but it may be open by noon.

I'm told The Cirque du Solei tarp is toast, and there was debris everywhere but I'll bet you it was gone by the time they opened this AM.

They are having trouble getting Cast Members to come due to road closures and power outages, but last I heard they were open for business

Daniel good you you made it dude as all the others. My power came back on at 5:39AM GO FPL (or whatever their new name is) My house is now the Otero Hurricane Shelter for pin collectors, guess tonight we will have a pin meet. :b

Nextel is said to have lost 83 towers so communications is so so.

Power is said to be out in the Orlando area for 4 days to a week, or longer.

Trees are down every single place you look, I mean some of these trees are 100's of years old so they are irreplaceable and when they came down they took the power lines with them.

Last night FHP and the local police got fed up with people just driving around site seeing and they started ordering people home or they would be arresting folks, and a few were taken in. I was stopped but my company runs a 24hr emergency service for the hospitals so they let me stay at the office.

Cable is out and some of the local stations are on limited power so all we have is radio for news, and once again I'm praising XM radio I would be lost without it.

There were some casualties in the Punta Gorda area, a mobile home park got wiped out, and a lot of folks did not or could not evacuate my heart and prayers go out to them.

Lines at the working gas stations are so long they stretch out onto the roadways.

More news and I'll have some pictures of Disney as soon as I can.

Sounds like you guys held on pretty well considering the force of the storm.:boat:

I feel badly for those people in the mobile home park, but I think everyone knows that mobile home parks are natural lightening rods for any type of storm. :p

Do we have a final yardage count on Donna's duct tape consumption? :earboy2:

I believe it was around 1500 yards -- 500 to tape every door and window shut and 1000 to tape Ed down so he wouldn't keep running outside to play in the hurricane. :hyper: :jester: :teeth:
