Disney World Passport Collection

I do, I have my 2008 points in the system for westin at st. john usvi, habourside at atlantis, the royal sea aquarium resort at curacao and alexandrea resort turks and caicos. I called member services with the locations and dates i wanted and they started a search, when a match is found a $75 fee is charged. Exchanges are in 7 night increments up to 2 years in advance. 160 points is needed for 1 bedroom 1 week during high season. also an instant match could be found. thats the basic's, all the info is in vacation planner if you have one. I'm still not sure if i can go without WDW for a year. but if i cancle search before match is made, $75 will not be charged :hourglass

Sure, but it's very complicated to do correctly. The basics are you decide which resorts and times you want, call DVC exchange services, and put in your request. If it's there at that time, you say yes, they take your points and you are set. If it's not there, an ongoing search is started and if they match what you want, they will call you and you get to say yes or no. The $75 fee can be refundable or not depending on specifics, in general it's refundable unless you just back out.

But it gets a lot more complicated in that you need to decide what resorts will work for you and that is not necessarily an easy task. Most will not be up to DVC standards. You should be searching at least a year out but for some options, 2 years out is best as goofydec notes. The points will vary but if you assume 160 for a 1 BR or 270 for a 2 BR you will be pretty close though there are also points tables for studios and 3 BR units. One can also do direct trades with other timeshare owners and in many cases, this is by far the best way to go.
