Disney World - A Prodigious Pyratical Photo Perspective! - Cap'ns Log Part 4 Posted!

That's unbelievable that you made it in the Ellen show. I NEVER get picked! :sad2:

Thanks to all for the kind words. Working up a part 4 now.

Wendy, What? You never got picked for the Ellen show? :confused3
Hmmmm...well they are lookin' for the Einstein sort.
Maybe if ya dye yer hair? You don't comb it do ya?

118051Einstein.jpg

Aside from that, carrying a cutlass is the only other tip I kin offer.

I do sympathize with ya.
I've been trying for years ta get into the Hall of Presidents.
No luck.
Ya'd think a pyrate would fit right in.

Keep trying!

Disney World from a Prodigious Pyratical Photo Perspective!
CAPTAINS LOG - PART 4 - MAGIC KINGDOM

The storm still hasn't hit so Magic Kingdom it be for today. I wanted ta ride the boat over, but me better half insisted on the quicker monorail.
Darn new-fangled things.
To crowded fer my likin'.

118051034-Monorail.jpg

Ridin the Monorail

Magic Kingdom is my personal favorite. I don't know - just somethin will always be special bout this park over the others.
Nostalgia maybe?
Sort of brings a tear ta me eye just thinkin' bout it.
<Wipin that away - got'ta be careful - have a rep ta protect>
I carry quite a bit of photo equipment plus all the other junk one normally carries to the parks.
No I don't carry a talkin Mickey.

118051035-Security-med.jpg

Security always checks my bags close for some odd reason.

Of course we head right over ta Pirates of the Caribbean ta check out the changes made with Cap'n Sparrow and the like.
Changes ain't that much really.
The Davy Jones projection on a water mist is sort of cool.

118051036-Davy-Jones-med.jpg

Might want some tissue fer yer nose thar fella

Of course - being a pyrate and all we get the grand tour all by oursleves in our own ship - sort of.
Uh...the other tourists volunteered ta swim ashore. Yeah that's what happened.
I liked the changes ta Pirates both inside and out.

118051037-Pirate-Booty-med.jpg

Now what might he be eye-ing?

Robinson Crusoe' tree house is sort of neat, least for guys.
Me wife doesn't think much of it though.
She stayed below and got this photo of me exploring.

118051038-Tree-House-med.jpg

Exploring the tree house

She does like that talkin' Tiki show cross the street. The one parrot, Iago, drives me nuts. Not a very nice parrot either.

118051039-Tiki-Bird-backpack-med.jpg

Saving him for dinner

Continuing on with our clockwise trip bout the park we come ta Splash Mountain.
Don't cha love the Zip-Ta-Dee-Do-Dah song?
Ranks a close second behind Yo-Ho doesn't it?
Just makes ya happy.
<I don't want ta hear it if ya have a different opinion bout a favorite song. La-da-da-da I got my fingers in my ears.>
I love all the colors on this ride and that final drop is a blast.

118051040-Splash-Mountain-med.jpg

What did ya think the board was for?

Ya will get wet on Splash Mountain. No problem - pyrates like wet T-shirts.

118051041-Wet-Butt-med.jpg

Interesting pattern. Butterfly?

Next after Splash Mountian - Thunder Mountain. Hey what's with all the mountains anyhow? Must be a land lubber who runs this park. Closed down Nemo's ride and replaced it with a dumb tree for little ones ta scrabble on. Like the Magic Kingdom is for kids? Geez! How bout addin a beach Disney? Or open Nemo's pool back up for swimming. That'd be cool though I'll have ta practice holdin me breath ta get ta 20,000 leagues. I'm game!

Back ta Thunder Mountain. A fun coaster ride yet it's a tad on the too easy side by today's coaster standards. Well, <lookin both ways> just a little flip of a track switch on this console and...

118051042-Thunder-Mountain-med.jpg

...excitement coming round the bend. She'll be coming round da bend...

118051043-1-Thunder-Mountain-med.jpg

I loved the look on this guys face. Ya figure he never saw a train wreck before?

"I'm gon'na get a better photo of the train," I tell Marie.
"Don't climb over the railing," the wife scolds, "That's against the rules."
"Rules? Uh - pyrate. I'm just gettin' a photo."
"Me too," she says.

Why are women always right?

We walk through the wild west to the haunted house. Another favorite. Storm appears ta be getting closer.

118051044-Haunted-House-med.jpg

Come on guys give it up already.
Don't ya know it ain't safe ta thumb now-a-days.
Want ta get killed?
Guys can sure be stupid.

Leaving the mansion we come to the kiddie area of the Magic Kingdom.
I always try to run quickly through this section.
"Oh come on it's fun," me wife says.
Pooh? Small World? Twirling elephants & teacups! Fun?
I'm dragged onto all the rides. Yuk! <frown>

Remember the fun song discussion earlier?
Well how about we now pick the worst song?
I have one that drives me absolutely nuts?
Yep - the small world song.

By the end of the ride I'm to the point of insanity!

118051045-Small-World-med.jpg

But I've got me cutlass! Gim'me that tape!

We skedaddle off this street.
Right into - Toontown.
Oh no! More kiddie rides.
Help me! I'm trapped!
I see the faces on the other trapped men trying ta look macho.
"Uhhh...so how's bout them Yankees."
Women just don't understand how embarrassing it is for a pyrate ta been seen in Toontown.

118051046-Barnstormer-med.jpg

I think I recognize that airline.

Next ta Toontown is Race Track.
I don't get this ride in 2006. What's the attraction? But, it does seem ta always draw a sizeable crowd.
Go figure.
On the bright side, if thousands are riding this ride, then it means the lines are shorter on the stuff we want ta ride. That's fine by me!
"When you're done riding the go-carts. Go to Pooh," I yell to them.

Beleive it or not some guy took that wrong.
Oh well, what can ya expect from a guy who rides go-carts that are on a rail.
Ya can't really go anywhere.
Heck - bumping ain't even allowed.
Where's the fun? Where's the chaos?

Of course there are the women drivers.

118051047-Race-Track-med.jpg

Must have been fix'in her make-up.

Future World is just around the bend from Race Track.
Not sure why it's still called Future World as it seems a bit retro.
Even the Missus doesn't want ta ride an Astro Orbiter.

118051048-Astro-Orbiter-med.jpg

Like this ride looks to anyone like it's futuristic.

Space Mountain is still cool. <another mountain> Love ta hear people discuss which track, left or right is better.
Not sure there's a difference.
What do you readers think?
What does the Mickey doll say?

118051049-Black-Slope-med.jpg

Me personal favorite are the moguls.

Well, it's starting ta get late and it's been a long day.
We set a course toward the castle, gon'na catch the electric parade.
I'm told they strap 110 volts to a bunch of college kids and they jitter about the street. Could be fun.
Wonder what'd happen if I switch their suits to 220?
Course I didn't. ;)

Hope the storm holds off, but the wind is picking up.

118051050-Balloon-Man-med.jpg

Always knew this could happen. Glad I had me camera.

And now to the educational portion of this trip report with another photo tip.
So pay attention!
Always be on the look out for anything that reflects light for a different, cool photo perspective.
Water - mirrors - whatever.
Below are just a few reflections I captured this trip.

118051051-Reflection-med.jpg

Puddle shot. I'll probably make millions in royalties.

118051052-Plane-med.jpg

Not the best tree reflections, but you get the idea.

118051053-Reflection-med.jpg

Finally an acceptable reflection shot!

So keep that camera handy as ya never know when a photo opportunity might happen.

118051054-Restroom.jpg

The tabloids will likely be wanting to buy this one from me.

Well- that's it for today.
The storm did blow through and ruined the next day.
Wasn't much of a storm. Parks didn't even close.
Still, we stayed at the hotel.
The hotel was running Disney movies all day for those who didn't want to dodge rain.
It was a relaxing break.
Went ta Kississimmeeisssimmmeeee...ah who named that darn place! Must be from Mississippiipppii!

Earlier in this trip report I jested about how tourists don't pay much attention to buses, trams, etc.
On a number of occasions we watched people exit trams right into oncoming auto traffic. So many close calls.
Sad ta say we saw a real such event on this trip on Hwy 192. A tourist (rental car) wasn't paying attention and re-ended a stopped truck at 50mph. We purposely didn't look closely at the wreck, but it was easy enough to tell nobody walked away. We never found out how many died. Our hearts go out to the family where ever or whoever they are.

One more park ta go and this trip report is history.
Yeah!
I've still got'ta figure out how to convince my wife that these photos are okay ta scrapbook. Quite the different approach this time.
She always scrapbooks are trips.
Hopefully it ain't the plank for me.

Almost forgot.
What happens when the electric parade is ran at 220 volts?

118051055-Parade.jpg

We have duck for dinner!

These were my favorite pictures. The second one is genius. GENUIS I SAY!

I'll be sad to see this TR come to an end...enjoyed your bizarre sense of humor.
