Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

Tad late booking by us into Wonder sailing and hence no Port activities are booked by us? (we have a 2 and 6 year old with us and first dcl trip).

Are we too late now or can we book onboard?
My better-half is furious that I let the port activity window get closed.

Is it advisable to call tours operators and book now?

Any ideas folks?

Welcome to our group! Like others have said, you can book excursions through the excursions desk on the ship. The last time I checked, the ship seemed pretty empty so I would imagine you have lots of excursions to choose from. We have a 5 year old son so it's great to see more kids on board.

We are in Seattle now (the hotel has free internet!) and are on our way to dinner and to see some sights. See you all on the ship on Monday!

Hollywood - SO happy to hear your dad is out of the hospital! Must be such a relief!

For those who were looking for something to do in Vancouver after the cruise, I recommend checking out the Aquarium. It was a great time for the kids, as well as the adults.

They repeat the shows throughout the day. And the food is better than I expected, and not exorbitantly priced.

We were able to take the "19 Stanley Park" bus from behind our hotel (Delta Suites) which put us a short walk away along paved paths from the aquarium.

So today I am very eagerly awaiting the shipment from B&H, so I can start getting used to shooting with my first long lens.

How exciting!!!!! :)

I will be taking my 18-55 kit lens, but so far I have been very pleased with it!

A kit lens should do great especially in the outdoor shots.

We are a little subdued today--got some less-than-wonderful news on the cancer front. Not going to let it spoil our trip, though. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the cruise!

I was so sad to read this!! I will be keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

We had a pretty big medical scare last night. My father had what they call a "mini stroke".

I will be keeping your dad in my thoughts and prayers as well!!! How very scary!!!

I do have the nice 70-200IS 2.1fs lens from back then though, and a doubler. So when you see this guy with a super lens trying to get the stuff on shore from the boat, that prob me. ::yes:: I'll even have a tripod with me. :rotfl:

I'm so jealous!!! :bitelip: LOL at the thought of a photog trying to get all the equipment on board. I also thought of brining the tripod but told myself that I'm already brining half the closet with me so I'd better not.

Good news! My dad is getting out of the hospital today. He can't wait to get home and get ready for the trip. :)

I was so happy to read this!!!!

We will be leaving tomorrow around noon to stay the night at our airport departure city. I can't believe that it is finally here after a year of waiting!!!!! :dance3:  :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :hyper: My mom and I have been randoming squealing all day with the excitement!!! As far as packing goes, so far I have one large bag and two small check on sized bags (one will be checked and it is full of FE gifts... I hope it makes it) and a small personal item sized bag for under the seat which will contain my camera.

I second this! The Vancouver Aquarium is the greatest.

Ahh! I love that some of you all are here already! Makes it feel so close! Since we aren't traveling to get here, it hasn't felt as close as it does to see you all on your way! We are having beautiful weather, not hot or cold; perfect!

My DH just started grad school 2 weeks ago so he has locked himself in the office trying to get all of next week's work done before we leave. That leaves me to wrestle the ds, packing, and cleaning! So tomorrow I am calling in the reinforcements, my SIL, to play with the boy while I finish! :)

So excited to meet you all!

MamaJax - I'm a "school widow" also! Ha ha. This is the one week break between semesters for my DH. I totally know!

Add to your list of Vancouver stops, Science World. this is a large area with many many many interactive, science based displays, kid focused shows, and the Omnimax (which we didn't see) We had to literally drag our kids out of it when it was time to board the train down to Seattle.

They had the DaVinci exhibit there when we went, but it was being closed labour day monday. I don't know what they are replacing it with.

I would also agree with this one, and add that if you have a science museum membership, Science World has reciprocal memberships with many museums.

The Seattle weather this weekend has been amazing. Absolutely perfect. We wore ourselves out on Mount Rainier yesterday and today. Looking forward to a good dinner, a good night's rest, and off to the ship tomorrow. See you soon!

Just called to reserve a car for tomorrow, and all of our luggage is down at my folks' place. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Off the top of your head, does anyone remember the name of the place we are all meeting at 3:15 today? It would take me forever to look through all the pages of this thread using my blackberry.

I hope everyone is having an awesome trip and Welcome to Skagway, Alaska!!!!
