Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

Just checked he Disney Cruise website. Thy must have sold some rooms they have dropped the GTY option for inside staterooms. It's now cheaper to get a porthole room then an inside stateroom.

Can't believe it's less than 1 month away! So excited!

So if anyone who's been to Alaska before, please chime in........
Looking for something worthwhile to do in Skagway. A lot of sites and boards on the net giving lots of opinions on excursion. Thinking about the rock climbing/sightseeing. Besides the train, any suggestions out there?

Thanks :thumbsup2

We decided to just rent a car and do the murray's guide at our own pace :)

We're doing the same thing. How early are you getting started? Did you rent from Avis? Did you find any additional info about it from any of the Alaska threads? I only found one post - which is how I learned about the Murray's Guide. We're really looking forward to it!

Hi! We are scheduled to pick the cars up at 8am (from avis)...Since we are a group of 8, i have no idea when we will start out on our journey. I contacted caribou crossing and their busy time is between 11-1, since that's when the bus groups are there... I guess we need to get some water/snacks from the store and we'll be on our way by 9:30? Definitely buy his guide.. Worth the $5! I found quite a few posts on it from google. It looks fun! We have 2 sets of grandparents and 2 little kids with us, so we are a little limited when it comes to long walks, hikes, etc. I too am really looking forward to it! :)

In Juneau we're whale watching and doing the float-plane in Ketchikan...

That sounds like so much fun! We're just a party of two and we're reserved for 8:00a as well. We haven't yet downloaded the guide. Guess we should. It's getting close!! My husband is an avid photographer and we figured this gave us the most flexibility. Thanks for the info on Caribou Crossing. We thought we might just order some Uncrustables or something the night before to have some snacks on us, if needed. I wonder how hard it would be to find a convenience or grocery store in town.

There is 1 gas station and 1 grocery store in town (that I know of so far).

Yes - go buy the guide tonight and he will send the download link tomorrow am. Print it out so you can study it this week... not that you will get lost, but you need to know what you might drive past :) it gives details of the trip mile by mile.

Will do! Great to know about the gas station and grocery store. I'm getting so EXCITED! We're getting so close. It's getting harder to focus at work. :)

Assuming good weather, we were thinking about trying the gardens and glassworks--we were just going to do it on our own with a taxi, however, and not go through Disney, so if the weather was bad we could decide to do something else--maybe the gold rush museum.

Where can I find a roll call for us? I can't see a list anywhere? Was there a decision about an inboard meet?

And please can someone remind me of the dress codes etc each night? I know there are no fireworks, but is there still a Pirate night?

Apologies for asking for answers that I'm sure I should already know, but I have had a quick search and unable to find :-(

Getting near now, and I'm sure I should start to at least make some packing lists.....

We don't have a roll call for this cruise. Below is the info for the meet-up.

Mickey's Alaskan Adventure Meet-Up
3:15 Promenade Lounge
Deck 3, Aft

From what I understand there is no pirate night on deck but you do have a Special BBQ and a Special Pirate party in the Lobby Atrium

Daily recommended attire:

Monday: Cruise Casual
Tuesday: Formal
Wednesday: Cruise Casual
Thursday: Cruise Casual
Friday: Pirates or Cruise Casual
Saturday: Semi-Formal
Sunday: Cruise Casual

Hope this helps!

Unless Disney changed it. They told me on the phone the pirate party is at 9:30 on Thursday night. I hope so, as we have bought pirate costumes and are ready to pirate party it up....pirate:

Also disney cruise has a packing list for alaska....very helpful for me. Its in the planning center under packing tips.

I think we're going to get our Mariners tickets today or tomorrow. Is anyone interested in meeting up there?

For those who are going to the mariners game, I must say this for your own good. Whatever you do or don't do in Seattle, you MUST get the garlic fries at Safeco Field. They are COVERED in minced garlic, and are amazing! And as an added bonus, you will help ensure there will be no vampires boarding on Monday ;)

Yes, If you look at Day 5 on the Cruise Itinerary it shows the Pirates Party as 9:45- 10:30.pirate:

I saw this on the Disney blog this morning and thought everyone would luv it.

You can read the story here..

I'd like to add that if you enjoy these delicious fries, you are welcome to sit next to anyone but me at the meet up at 3:15 on Monday!:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:
