We took a cruise out of Galveston right after Christmas and it would take place during New Years. In Galveston it was still really cold when we got on the ship but throughout the cruise it was really warm mostly in the mid-80s and very windy. Our first stop was in Key West in which we took a trolley around the city and I actually kind of regret doing that because there were much more prominent things we could have gone to. But the part that I don't regret is the food we went Andy tried out. There was this neat bakery and I can't remember the name but their chocolate chip cookies were really good then we went to a couple of donut shops and tried the very interesting combos that they had there including the key lime donut. Overall it was pretty fun just the only thing we may have changed was that we could have gone to the beach or something. Then we had a couple of days at sea. Those days we enjoyed things like playing in the pool or the sports deck and having refreshing snacks at Pinnochio's pizzariaand Flo's cafe which has burgers and pretzels and stuff. One day the Hosuton Texans had an important game on one of the sea days and there was a huge watch party and it was very fun. Next week we went to Nassau, Bahamas. This was a the second time we had been there. The first time was not that great when we had gone to Atlntis to day the least, but we decided to give Atlantis another chance and it didn't disappoint. Our day there was very fun-filled and we rode a bunch of water slides and the water was absolutely perfect. The next day was another sea day and we basically chilled out the whole day and at night we went and saw Ant-Man which was a relatively new movie at the time and then went out to a Frozen deck party. The next day we come up to Castaway Cay. This would be the 4th time we had been there. This was an early day because we planned to run the 5k on Casataway Cay which was very fun but was very hot and humid in the 90s but it didn't seem to affect my running at all at least I don't think so then I was time to cool down at the beach in the nice clear and warm waters of Castaway Cay. There is one spot that I strongly recommend which is pelican plunge which is 2 water slides one open air and the other contained that let out right next to each other into about 20 feet deep water and also to get to the water slides you need to swim about 25 yards out to the platform in 20-25 feet deep water. For lunch we had Cookies Too which is one of 2 major restaurants on Castaway Cay. They serve mostly barbecue and have ice cream and cookies for dessert or snack. There are also some really nice hammocks that you can use to relax at the end of a long day. Then the last day at sea was in effect in which the activities consisted of for kids: Oceaniers club and lab for tweets/teens: are the edge and vibe to do age appropriate activities. The major restaurants on the ship are: Parrrot Cay, Tritons, and Animators Palate. All these restaurants are ship specific except for Animators Palate which on every single Disney ship ever created. Then finally we had a big New Years celebration which consisted of a live band and dj playing and singing along to popular songs. Then at midnight we had a huge celebration and there was also an after party that went on until 3 am. One thing I forgot to mention is Pirate night. Pirate night was a fun thing that Disney does on every cruise where every has the option to dressed up as pirates to meet the theme and all the restaurants and food are pirate-based theme. Overall this cruise was extremely fun and excursions are a must on this but it is a very cool place to meet new people and just have a great time.
