Hi All,

Wanted to pass along a quick review from our cruise this past week. Background, this is my second DCL cruise, previous one was also the 4 day. We also predominantly cruise RCL so my reference and comparison's come from mostly that experience. Our family is 3, myself, DW and DD (19Months).

Embarkation
No Issues with this part of the trip. Fairly easy with only about an hour wait once we got to the port, arrived about 11 and boarded about 12. Boarding for this cruise started just a little bit after we arrived.

Cabin
We were in an interior cabin. First time in an interior from any of our cruises. Not as bad as I was expecting. Bed seemed like a King size and we were able to find a place for the Pack and Play during the evening, but took it down during the day to give a little bit of room. We were on Deck 6 aft. Some vibration was felt and the biggest disturbance was when we pulled into ports each morning and they ran the azipods, which really make the ship shake.

Cabin steward was OK. Unfortunately either him or someone in the aft section wanted to vacuum the hallways after 9:00 each night, which disturbed the little one and made getting her to bed more of a challenge. We finally asked them about why they were doing it and it stopped. Sorry, didn’t feel this would be something I should have had to ask to not happen.

Misc notes. We loved the mini tub/shower. Great for showers and bathing the little one. We also like that they still have curtains to separate the bed area from the couch area. Again a benefit for families with little ones who need to have a little separation during the putting to bed stage. Layout was fine and there was decent storage. Felt like less then we are used to, but that was probably because we were in a smaller cabin.

The new cell phone things they now have were great. Not always good coverage, but still great to have. The texting feature was the best part.

Dining
Our rotation was APTT. We ate at Palo’s on the 2nd night, so didn’t have dinner in Parrot Cay. However, based on a young boys recommendation we had lunch at Parrot Cay on embarkation day, and it was a really good buffet with healthy foods.

Main dining at the other rooms was very good. We had a problem with bringing our own wine, but the Maitre’D resolved the situation, removed the corking charges, and we drank our wine back in our rooms. So, note to others. Just bringing your own wine into the main dining rooms incurs the corking charge, the waiters don’t even have to touch or handle it. My advice, leave it home and have a glass at dinner, just not worth the hassle.

Palo’s was great and the food kept coming!!

Ports
Not that Disney can control it with these short cruises from Port Canaveral, but I really don’t like Nassau. Wish they could find a different place to go.

Castaway Cay. Missed not seeing the Pirate ship, but otherwise we had a great time on the island.

Ship Activities
My Dad did the Captains talk, which he really loved. DW did the Martini tasting, which also went over really well. She also did the High Tea, actually at 3:00, in Palo’s which was fun as it was just the ladies in the group.

Pirate night was great. Got a better viewing position, deck 10 Port side, and enjoyed the party and the fireworks even more.

Didn’t do any of the shows, but did see Tron in the Movie theatre, they also showed it one night in the big Walt Disney theatre. Great movie. Theatre had problems with the audio and the film, but overall a great experience to see the movie.

Reef Club
We used the infant/toddler care twice and our DD had a great time. We received some paintings of hands and feet from her visits and those are super special. Staff was great and the process for signing up was easy and no problems.

Overall
A great cruise, especially with all of the family!! We did book a 2012 Fantasy cruise, love the 7 day and no Nassau, so we have that to look forward too, couldn’t pass up the on-board booking discounts.

If anyone has any questions, please ask.

Thanks

Scott

Thanks, we are considering this same cruise. What did you do in Nassau? We are a bit concerned about that as well. Thanks again!

The first time we went we got ourselves over to Atlantis and walked around, played a little in the casino and came back. This most recent cruise we got off the ship and walked through the shops in the town where the cruise pier is at. Then we went back to the ship and had a great day relaxing on-board. It's not an exciting stop, but it's not like there aren't options for different things to do. Plus things are a little different for us with the 19 month old, but I am sure if we go back when she is older we'll definitely do the dolphin cove excursion.
