Cast of Characters: DH, Me, DD5 and DS 7 months.
Background info: This is our second Disney Cruise. We spent five days at WDW before the cruise.

Day 2 - Sunday July 4

Woke up at 3:30 to DS crying. Althought he's been sleeping through the night since 2 months, he was totally off schedule by the time we got to the Wonder.

So, I climbed the obstacle course in our room and fed him a bottle on the verandah. I wish I had been awake enought to take a picture. The moon was shining and the seas were like glass. We were crawling along the ocean, on our way to Nassau. Luckily, DS fell asleep again while I was feeding him and we all got to sleep until 7:00.

At 7:30, I got the kids up and took them to breakfast. Dh was still recovering from his massage and exposure to wheat at WDW. We went to Beach Blanket Buffet and had Mickey waffles and Fruit Loops - the breakfast of champions.

We then went to the atrium to get on line for pictures with patriotic Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. After we got through the line and had some wonderful pics taken, we got back in line for Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Belle. More great pictures of DD and her "heroines". After these princesses, we went upstairs for pix with Alice and Mulan. Whew! Got my entire picture package taken care of in one fell swoop.

Finally, after DD was sure she saw everyone she could, I dropped her in the club. She had made friends with a girl on line and asked if she could go to the club with her. I was going to take her shopping in Nassau with me, but figured I'd let her have her fun.

Got back to the room around 10:00 and woke up DH. Poor guy didn't drink enough water after his massage, so he had major muscle cramps in his legs and arm. He was a total mess for the first half of the cruise. We finally got going into Nassau with DS around 11:00. We just did the shopping loop, stopping at Del Sol for t-shirts and nail polish and Diamonds International for a watch for DBiL, who was house and pet sitting for us. DH was convinced that these two guys were scoping him out to pickpocket him and wanted to head back to the ship. I think he was still pretty dehydrated and not feeling great.

Once on board, we got DD and went to our room for room service lunch. I had the turkey sandwich and salad. Yummy. DD had a PBJ with no PB and DH had the cheeseburger. All got rave reviews.

We went up to the pool for a few hours, until it got too crazy. I know the pool is only 18 inches deep, but parents just let their 5, 6, and 7-years olds alone in the pool. Of course, water fights, diving, jumping and general craziness ensued. We were afraid DD would get hurt, so we went back to the room to get ready for dinner around 3:30. DH wanted to take another nap, so I did something with the kids for an hour, though I can't remember what. Probably wandered around ship for a while.

At 4:30, we started getting ready for semi-formal night. Dh wore slacks, button-down shirt and tie. I wore a dress. DD wore a dress and DS wore shorts with a button down shirt. For some reason, we didn't get a picture. I tried to get one with DD and DS, but they were too low for the lighting and background. Oh well.

Dinner was at AP. Blessedly, DS slept through the whole thing. DD loved watching the walls and the show at the end. She was very content. The servers were better with DH's food situation, but still didn't exactly know what he could and couldn't have. He ended up with everything very plain, no specials sauces or seasonings. Luckily, he doesn't mind that. Since it was fourth of July, there was a special Americana menu featuring New England Clam Chowder, BBQ meats and apple pie, among other things. At one point, they passed out champage glasses to everyone and Captain John led everyone in a toast. DD sucked down her apple cider and almost had my champagne in hand before I stopped her! It took a while for me to explain why the drinks were different and why she couldn't have mine.

After dinner, DD went to the club, DS had Flounders ressies until 11:00 and I had made another spa appointment for DH. I was able to call that morning and get him a stone therapy massage for 8:15. So, I was left alone to do what I do best - SHOP! I went to Treasure Ketch and got a few charms for my watch. Bought a few shirts and photo albums. Went to Mickey's Mates and got some things for the kids - stuffed animals and activity books. It was a good time. I also went to the Cove Cafe to check e-mail and post on the Boards. I've never been there before - it was really, really nice.

Got DD around 9:30 and we headed to chairs outside the spa to wait for DH to finish up. There was going to be a huge deck party with fire works and we didn't want to miss it. DH finally came out at 9:50 with $300 more of spa merchandise :earseek: . I'm never allowing him to go to the spa alone again. Ever. That in itself was more than I budgeted for the spa. I nearly fainted. However, he LOVED the stone massage. Said he wasn't ever getting a regular massage again. He hasn't stopped talking about it. And, we've tried the bath salts he got. They are pretty nice. I'm not sure if they are $80 nice, thought.

Anyway, we went to the party and Junction 21 was playing. They are pretty good, when the female lead is singing. The male lead leaves something to be desired. DD danced and danced again. The characters came out and led the fireworks. They were actually very, very, very good. I was impressed. Not Wishes, but awesome for a cruise boat.

After the fireworks, DD kept dancing and was thirsty. I went over to the soda bar (awesome addition, BTW), and got her some "juice punch". I noticed going over there that the Mickey Pool had been cordoned off. When I was passing back by the Mickey Pool, a CM was taking down the roping. Well, it must have slipped from her hand, because the rope retracted instantaneously and whipped me and this other passenger. He got in the face and I got it in the back. OUCH!! It stung a lot and left a welt.

I brought DD and DH their drinks and left to get DS. I noticed that the gentleman hit in the face was filing a report with some guy in a suit. Not Disney suit, but a suit, suit and a walkie-talkie. Don't know what that was about.

Just want to note here that Flounders was great. I checked on DS periodically while he was there and the CMs were all great and seemed to love him. He was happy and content while he was there. I was very pleased with the facility.

DS and I got back to the room at about the same time as DH and DD. So, again, the family was in bed and asleep by 11:30. Another night of smooth seas and peace and quiet.

Coming up - Day 3, Pirate Night.

I wonder if we ever crossed paths? We had the same seating TAAP as you at 5:45 and DS 4months would have been in Flounders with your baby and DD was in club with your daughter. Plus we were on the same floor as you.

I haven't written a report yet. We had a great time too. It went fast and was different than a normal cruise having an infant along. But it went smooth. Looking forward to reading your next installment. It is neat since it almost exactly mirrors our activities.

What was your seat number? There was a baby boy at the table next to us...

I'm working on the next installment. DS is still having some trouble re-adjusting to his pre-vacation schedule. So, he's not sleeping like he used to... :flower:
