Disney Wonder crossing the Panama Canal, Aug 26, 2016

Today is a good day with news:

First - Finally paid in full as of tonight!! party::jumping1::banana::cool1::goodvibes

Second - Got a job offer ^_^ Will be making enough to move and not worry too much on pinching ALL pennies on the trip (only a few ^_^). Yay!

Yay to PIF! Double yay to gainful employment for the really important things like Port Adventures, beverages, and all of the other pesky shipboard charges! I'm still looking at available cabins, WONDERing if we want to spend the $ on a bigger cabin or the aforementioned shipboard charges? :)

Welcome!!! I'm sorry you've had to cancel five others but hooray for being able to take this one :cool1: and it's getting so close :hyper:

Thanks, I'm really excited! I had to buy evacuation insurance :(. But buying it means I won't have to use it!

Will be back with comments tomorrow - fighting a cold and am heading to bed

But I really wanted to say

18 weeks until .......

What an amazing picture; I hope you feel better soon!

I also want to say I'm very glad to see an active DIS group; I LOVE the DIS :p

I just changed our stateroom to a secret veranda room. Saved me more than $1000,- which were quickly invested in a deposit for a 7 night Med cruise in 2017! :rotfl2:Reminds me that I need to change that stateroom on the FE list.

Thank you! We loved to take photos during the shows (without flash).

I have not been around much, but we are still booked. Final payment due this week. I got trip insurance yesterday. DH has cardiac issues that have gotten worse, but we will start cardiac rehab - again!- May 3 and he should be in shape by August. This will be our 3rd PC, but first heading east. We are traveling with a group of 8 this time. Excitement is building.

Thank you all for the well wishes ^_^

I will reply individually when I get to a desktop

After cancelling five Panama Canal cruises due to doctors orders, I am finally able to take this cruise! We haven't been through the canal since 2013, and we are very excited to return :) Our only complaint is that the PC cruises no longer stop at Castaway Cay :(

This is our eighth DCL voyage, the seventh on The Wonder. The kids really wanted to take this last trip before dry dock. The Edge on The Magic was so disappointing to them, they're afraid The Wonder is going to remove the arcade in favour of a really small Edge.

Planned excursions include Las Caletas in PV, Salsa y Salsa in Cabo, Las Americas in Cartegena, and the Eco-adventure park in Cozumel.

We'll send a separate PM to join FE, then look forward to meeting all of you in August :)

We haven't been to the PC yet but are looking forward to going. So sorry you had to cancel your trip but that makes this time so much more special. Hopefully we will meet you as we are hoping to take part with the FE

Awesome about being paid in full!

CONGRATULATIONS on the job offer!!! party: party: party:

Thank you very much! That paid is full is almost a relief ^_^ Lol we still don't have our return flights because we don't know what happening after the cruise yet. Disney is taking their sweet old time releasing ANY info, park wise -_-

:dance3:Paid in full - AWESOME! Congrats!! :dance3:
And it gets even better! Congratulations on the new job!
:cheer2:

Hehe, thank you so much! Yeah, it's a relief to have the job. I start on May 2nd, and with how much I'm getting paid, we should be able to take care of all the other pre-payment type things (insurance, tips, other half of flight, etc)

Haha exactly!! That and a WDW trip after the cruise .... maybe :rolleyes1
Well, I suppose it depends on your family and what they like most ^_^ For us, we have a sideways cabin and WILL NOT MOVE. I think I even told our TA to restrict us from any upgrades because we love our cabin so much lol. In our case then, money for extras would be our priority ^_^

Our first Eastbound as well, 2nd PC. My cardio team requested trip & evacuation insurance, then finally cleared me. I'm sorry your husband has to begin rehab, but glad he's able to make the trip :)

Going with a group of friends sounds WONDERful!

Thank you! We are too! And I have already changed our stateroom assignment. :rotfl2:

Yes, and it is coming up FAST as well. I am so not prepared yet.

We have booked Dora's. All others might be with Disney. And we are not doing anything in Cozumel - been there, done that.

Good to know! Sounds like this is like Europe where most things are closed on Sundays.

Glad that you decided to join the FE. I can put you on the list for sure - just let me know everyone's first name and the kids' ages and include your stateroom number if you already know it. You will not be able to PM me though as you don't have 10 posts yet - you can either post here a few more times or on the community board or you just post names and so on here.

Thank you so much just in case we do not make the 10 posts in time I will provide you with our information.

I'm sorry to hear about your DH's issues :(
Remember though, DCL insurance doesn't cover pre-existing conditions. If you got another type of insurance, make sure they cover pre-existing, otherwise if your DH has a cardiac issue onboard, your insurance most likely wouldn't cover it

:jumping1: Yippie!!!!!!!!!! :jumping1:
Online check in done and Palo and excursions booked for our trip!
One more thing checked off our list!

Welcome back!
So sorry to hear about your DH and keeping my fingers crossed he will be all okay by August. Looks like you are a PC expert. And travelling with such a big group. Must be so much fun!

Yay!!! What did you reserve?

We want Palo brunch but don't know which day. Figuring out excursions too. We have a month to decide, so perhaps your choices will help us decide? :)

Very exciting!!! party: Which excursions did you pick for the other days?

Yay!!! What did you reserve?

Thank you! I actually set the alarm so I could do everything at 6am (my time) and then for once, my computer does not connect to the internet!! Had to reboot and was actually 10 minutes late but since it is only platinum booking today I was sure there would not be a big problem.

Oh, and before I "reveal" my excursion pics ..... that lovely overview of all days that I had been looking for some time ago opened up today no problem. Let me know if you need it.

Okay, here we go:
Booked Palo dinner for Pirate Night
Palo brunch for the third day of the 4 days at sea
Puerto Vallerta - city tour
Cabo - Harbour Cruise
Cozumel - (and this is the one that most likely is going to go again) Tequila Tasting

Given that we are not beach people (apart from CC) I had a bit of a hard time picking excursions, but so far I am pretty pleased with them.

It was not easy for me either, especially since we usually go on "private" excursions here in Europe. But in Mexico, I am not so sure we should just venture out on our own.

How do you know what days will be which? I'm trying to figure out when the Frozen day is so I make sure NOT to book Palo on it or make sure to have an excursion that comes back early.

I agree to stick with DCL for excursions. Mexico isn't a place I'm hugely interested in and if I am to truly try and appreciate it, I would need a guide that is passionate about their culture. Also, I feel better going to an unknown place with DCL (or whatever cruise line I'm on), because of protection and the getting back to the ship guarantee/ship not sailing without me.

I use last year's navigators on the disneycruiselineblog as a reference. I hope it is okay to share the link to the page here. http://disneycruiselineblog.com/2015/11/personal-navigctober-23-2015/
You might have to copy and paste it, as it does not show up as a link here.

We do have a private excursion in Cartagena, but there are six of us going, so I guess we will be okay. We only did private excursions when we cruised in Europe and we did so on Grand Cayman. Somehow that thought that this is British territory made us very adventurous.
But for Mexico I was a bit uneasy AND I did not find anything on tripadvisor that really tickled my fancy, so here we go with what DCL has to offer.

It's officially official, we're PIF too!!! :dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:

That's great the calendar opened now. I like using that to plan. Silly they're not letting us see it until we can book...

Karin your excursions sound great! We're going to do some kind of snorkel/boat thing at Cabo but for PV I'm a bit stumped. I must look at everything again.
