Disney Wonder crossing the Panama Canal, Aug 26, 2016

Yay we are PIF!!! Sorry for the absence. We PIF last week but my husband's elderly grandmother, who lived with us, passed away two weeks ago and it's been a little hectic around here with her health declining, arrangements, travel, etc.

I'm gold so I can't book yet...But we are narrowing down our choices, which will include palo dinner on pirate night and a palo brunch at some point.

It's officially official, we're PIF too!!! :dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:

party: Yay for being paid in full!

That's great the calendar opened now. I like using that to plan. Silly they're not letting us see it until we can book...

I had been sure it had been open before being PIF before the site update, but I could be wrong, it's been a year since we last cruised. But if you want me to, I can post a screenshot of it.

Karin your excursions sound great! We're going to do some kind of snorkel/boat thing at Cabo but for PV I'm a bit stumped. I must look at everything again.

I am still looking if I find something else, but with this being Mexico I am not too sure I want to venture on my own. Snorkel/boat tour sounds great and PV was a bit hard for us as well, but then since we have never been a City Tour it is.

May 13 will be here before you know it, just two more weeks! Guess a lot of us are going to have dinner at Palo during Pirate night. ;) I picked a random day for Palo brunch, we can always ask if we can get a second one once we get on board. ::yes::

Is anyone considering the DCL Puerto Vallarta excursion called Las Caletas Hideaway? It's at the top of our list, assuming it's available when we can book.

I was wondering if you could check something?
This [Link] shows Afternoon Tea on one of the days. Is palo bringing back afternoon tea in long cruise reservations?
I know they got rid of the afternoon tea back in 2012 or 2013

Checked, but ... It looks like this is a "private" afternoon tea, as it is in cadillac lounge.

I had more time today and went to check out this excursion and it is not listed on the options for that day. I guess the reason being is that this excursion is listed as 7 - 7.5 hours and we are not there long enough (10.15 - 4.45). You might want to look for something else as I am pretty sure it did not sell out already.

Omg, does this mean the Caves, Caverns and Paradise Lagoon won't be available at Cozumel?! :scared1::faint:

It IS on the list!
The ship should be in port from 8am to 3.45 - more than 7 hours!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! For checking
I was almost hyperventilating and started looking at the other options, just in case :scared:
We've been saving our OBC for that excursion and are truly excited to try it!

@slykrab I'm sorry to hear your desired excursion isn't available :( I know Disney has added a few to PV but I'm not sure if they'd be to your liking. I truly hope you find something you all will love!

I wish that PV cooking experience was available for our cruise, that would be perfect for us

I can't access my reservation at the moment - it says maintenance. But I will look it up for you later today.

Oh no! I came on here to announce I'd decided to do Las Caletas for PV only to see you guys have been talking about it and it's not available :sad2: Karin, thank you for posting what's available. Back to the drawing board.

For Cabo I found out we can see Los Arcos from the ship. If we want to see it closer we'll just get a water taxi on our own which will be much cheaper than an excursion.

Sorry for your loss, we are gold also and our booking date is May 13. We have never had dinner at Palo only brunch, which I hope is still available when it is time to book. All of you seem to be choosing Pirate night at Palo, is there a special dinner on that particular evening there? I know the dinner is different from the dining room just wonder if it is extra special on that night. Pirate night always cuts so close to our dinner since we are second seating. We don't really take part in all of the wonder food available since we are stil full from dinner.

A lot of people don't like the pirate night menu. I like it though :)

For us the reason to choose Pirate night is that we are no fans of the regular menu they serve that day in the main dining room. Palo's menu will be the same all cruise long. We like Palo's menu, so we choose Pirate night. Also, like you we are second seating at dinner and once we are done we are so full and tired that we are not really interested in the Pirate activities. I picked a 6pm Palo dinner, which means we are finished at around 8am, ample time to rest, enjoy the fireworks and snack around the pirate buffet. Best of both worlds for us.

Our first Eastbound as well, 2nd PC. My cardio team requested trip & evacuation insurance, then finally cleared me. I'm sorry your husband has to begin rehab, but glad he's able to make the trip :)

Going with a group of friends sounds WONDERful!

It will be a fun trip. Quiet for us, more active for our younger relatives. :-)

I'm sorry to hear about your DH's issues :(
Remember though, DCL insurance doesn't cover pre-existing conditions. If you got another type of insurance, make sure they cover pre-existing, otherwise if your DH has a cardiac issue onboard, your insurance most likely wouldn't cover it

Yes, it is not Disney insurance and has preexisting coverage, but thanks for the reminder on this!!

Welcome back!
So sorry to hear about your DH and keeping my fingers crossed he will be all okay by August. Looks like you are a PC expert. And travelling with such a big group. Must be so much fun!

Thank you. We do enjoy traveling with family/friends.
