Hello! We are booked on our first Disney Cruise aboard the Disney Wonder for 7 days in October. We have cruised many times on other lines (Carnival, Royal, Princess) so this will be something new for us to look forward to! We'll be traveling with myself (40), my wife (38) and our 2 girls (7 and 15). I have been researching and one of the items I cannot find clear information is regarding the casual dining options. We will likely try and enjoy the rotational dining however we also like to be more free with our dining some nights and like to eat at the quick-bite places for dinner. I know that as of today Cabanas is not open for dinner, hopefully by October it will be. That being said, I know there is Pete's Boiler Bites and Daisies De-Lites on the Pool deck but I cannot find the hours they are open and what options are offered at breakfast vs lunch vs dinner.

I searched and could not find this information, especially post-relaunch.

Any info would be appreciated!

I’m sailing next week and will update you when we get back (And will include my own daughters’ assessments from a kids’ pov!)

Thank you that would be greatly appreciated! How old are your kids? Our 7 year old is a huge Disney princess fanatic and loves Disney for the "magic" still so the ships should be amazing for her. My 15 year old likes Disney for the rides and not so much the "magic" though she is a huge Halloween @ Disney and Nightmare Before Christmas fan so hopefully that will make HER happy.

Thanks again!

Mine are 6-1/2 (and still very much in the princess phase) and almost 10 (pretends she’s too cool for princesses but at the last minute wanted a belle and Tiana dress and an appt at the BBB). I’d love to do Halloween one year! My girls are excited to explore the ship and the scenery and some of the daytime activities.

I've sailed on the Wonder twice, pre-covid though. I can't help with the specifics of what has changed, but Daisy's was just for lunch (longer than Cabanas lunch but not extending into dinner). Other than cookies and fruit, the food there was not my kids' preference, of the deck foods. They had build-your-own bowls, cold sandwiches, and small salads, but my kids preferred the Pete's options or Cabanas for lunch. Pete's and the shawarma station were open for lunch/dinner, although I think some trip reports have implied that some things closed and then reopened later in the evening. I know my kids got pizza pretty late in the evening. (You might read some of the Alaska trip reports to see if they included details on hours?)

"Normal times" - there were pastries in Cove Cafe that you could get for a light breakfast and a snack buffet in Crown and Fin in the late evening. I don't know if those have returned yet. Your 7yo might be too young for either of those to matter, though, since they were non-standard meal times. But teenagers eat all sorts of times LOL. Kids are not supposed to go in Cove Cafe and also not in Crown and Fin at night, but you can easily take food out of either location and to your room.

There is also the room service option, which is free for most stuff (minus the tip, of course). They charge for things like cans of soda, but not for the prepared kitchen items that you'd order for dinner. That definitely includes kid-friendly options.

The only thing available for dinner will be the hot dog/hamburger place. I think the pizza place closes at 6 and reopens around 9. Daisy's closes by 6 also. It is expected that 99% of the people will eat in the dining room. If Cabanas is open, it will be from 6-8pm and have the same dinner items as the rotational dining rooms that evening. It is staffed by new CMs in training. It isn't open now because they don't have enough staff to have a separate training venue. Training is happening in the main dining rooms.

I will do my best to help you out. I sailed recently but I didn't take pictures of the hours and menus so this information is from my memory and probably has some minor mistakes!

Pete's Boiler Bites hours were generally around 11am-9pm. They served basic burgers, fries, hot dogs, and chicken tenders. They also had Swarma. They also served vegetarian burgers and hotdogs. Each day they had two daily specials. One was a meat special, one was vegetarian. It was usually something along the lines of a chili dog or a chicken burger. That sort of thing.

Daisies Delights opened around 6 or 7am. I can't remember exactly but it was definitely earlier than Cabanans. In the morning they had fresh fruit and honestly I can't remember what else. I never ate there for breakfast. They were open for lunch but I can't remember if they stayed open straight from breakfast or were closed for a few hours in-between. For Lunch they offered wraps, sandwiches, noodle dishes, soups, and built your own salad/grain bowls. Some vegetarian options but not a ton. They always had cut up fresh fruit. They were open for lunch, and closed by 5 or 6pm. It was always closed when we needed to grab a quick pre-dinner bite.

Pinochio's Pizzaria was open from 11-5 or 6pm and then from 9:00pm-11:00pm or something around that closing hour. They serve several different kinds of pizza by the slice.

It was a little bit of a challenge to get casual dinner if you didn't want burgers and fries or the "included" room service because the pizza was closed by the time we got back on the ship from ports, and so was Daisies. No Cabana's for dinner. You could go grab some snacks from the Cove Cafe, but really your only option from 6-9pm was Pete's Boiler Bites.

Hope that helps.

Pastries and cereal. We would go grab something when they opened and then head up to Cabanas a bit later.

We did our first cruise on the Wonder a few months ago and loved it so much that we now have another one booked! Don’t skip the main dining, the dinner time shows are lots of fun!

Daisy D-lites has cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, grits, and fresh fruit available for breakfast. Everything else as described above.

For late afternoon snacks I would recommend ordering some (free other than tip) room service in the late afternoon if you’re there changing for dinner. For room service I highly recommend the cheese/cracker/fruit tray (order at least 2 for the family) and they also have things like chicken Caesar salads too which were decent and could be brought up on deck if you really wanted.

Just be aware that even if Cabanas does open for dinner, historically it too is a form of sit down dinner, not casual buffet as on most other cruise lines.

I was wondering about the Irish pub on the Wonder? When does it open? In the afternoon or only at night? Thanks.

We were on the Wonder in March 22 for the WBPC cruise.
The Crown and Fin. I think they opened 11am. By noon for sure. We attended adult only trivia and crafts there.

If you look at past navigators on the DCL blog you can see when things might be open. For example, this is from before Covid on the Magic. I was looking it today trying to decide on excursion times.
