Are we crazy to do 1 day in Disney with our almost 1 year old? We will be in Orlando for a few nights at the very end of March and we're thinking we could do a day (or part of) at one of the parks. We'll be staying at the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas. We've both been before but never with our little one... So we're ok to miss the rides and some things we would do if it was just us 2. Which park would you recommend? What should we expect to be able to do? What should we bring? :) Sorry for all the questions, first time parents + first time with little one at Disney.

thanks in advance!!

Definitely MK!! And no, not crazy. It is a joy to experience Disney with a infant/toddler! Even though they won't remember it, you always will. My infants' favorite rides in the past were Dumbo, the Carousel, Magic Carpets, and It's a small world. There is a ton for infants to do though, it's mostly just the mountains you'll have to stay away from and maybe a couple others.

I would bring some healthy snacks like bananas and apple sauce pouches, and easy things like gold fish crackers and granola bars. They can eat off your plate but at that age they probably won't like burgers and fries.

Bring a baby carrier! My babies always took great naps in the baby carrier.

Not crazy, but we've brought our babies as early as 3 months old sooooo....lol

MK would be a good park, lots of options to ride together as a family.

We are planning on bringing our little one who will be almost a year old aswell at the beginning of June. We will have my sister aswell there with us which will help I'm sure!. You will have an awesome time, seems like you haven't set high expectations.

I brought my 8 month old and 2 year old last year! Loved it! Toughest part for me though was triple applying sunblock and making sure they were hydrated. This year we are doing an entire week with a 1 year old and 3 year old! Two toddlers! Yes it is going to be crazy :)

Go for it!! Took our 9m old and had a ball. She is now 3 and has been 4 times. Going back in September with her and our going to be 10m old.

You are not crazy! The only thing I would recommend is being smart about taking a young child. Make sure you can fit in some nap time or know when to call it a day. You want everyone to enjoy the day. You may have seen parents who try to do too much in one day or who have very tired children. Not a pretty picture!:earseek:

Added extra sunscreen to my list! You'll have your hands full with 2 toddlers, have fun!

Thanks everyone! We've decided to go for it :). We're from Canada... wondering if most of the US spring/march breaks will be over by March 30th/31st... we'll be going one of those days.

I took my son at 8 mos, 11 mos, and 16 mos. All were wonderful trips. Plan to bring your stroller. My DS did all of his naps in the stroller. His first two trips he was fine with characters but by 16 mos he was afraid. Be prepared for either possibility. My DS loved all the rides without a height restriction. Use FP+ and plan on rope drop to minimize your wait times. Bring formula (if you aren't breastfeeding) and snacks. Even though DS was eating some table foods, he really didn't want any part of food from any of the restaurants (even things he normally liked). At 11 mos it was summer and he had a terrific time playing in the pool. I would take another trip with a baby in a heartbeat! In fact, I am booked to November and this time we will have a new baby who will only be 4 mos. You definitely aren't crazy to take a baby. It's wonderful and Disney is so family friendly.
