Have you seen any of her assistants work? I'd definitely look at that first.
If you are happy with them, along with the free sessions I'd also ask for a HUGE discount. If you aren't, I'd just look for someone else.
If it were me, I feel like she may not do her best for your wedding because she'd rather be somewhere else

I would 100% look around for other photographers, you may be able to find someone even better. It stinks that you even have to be thinking about it, though, at this point in your planning. I agree that you should ask for samples of the assistants' work and maybe talk to them. And if you choose to go with them, yes, request a huge discount. And make sure you mention that you want the assistants paid their normal rate or above. SHE should take the cut. She shouldn't get ANY profit off your wedding at this point. I'm so livid!!!!!!!! How ridiculous and unprofessional.

Ok, this just really upset me and it just got personal because I hearts you and you are my girl so I got your back....how in the heck do you do that a customer???? Such horrible customer service!!! All I can offer you is what I would do in this situation. I would start searching for new photographers 1. Because of the principle of the thing 2. Because of the reasons you just stated about potential sabotage and you are paying too much for cherished memories for some crazy person to blow it now 3. Because this woman doesn't deserve your business after such craziness. If you decide to change, then go ahead and cancel only when you know you have someone else secured for your date. Good news is you do have 6 months still so the odds of finding someone else is completely possible. I would check outside of your city if you are having trouble check near big cities, they have the most options with the odds of finding someone good not booked yet. Check your facebook adds, usually when a photog has ad space there you will get a huge discount for finding them, that's how I found mine

Don't worry about JS's wedding being the same day. This is your big day. Enjoy it. It'a all about you, and your DF, and the love you have for each other. Nothing is greater than that to your friends and family (or, shouldn't be). Forget about what's her name, and remember you picked it first.
Totally stinks about your photographer! It is her company? If not, you should definitely put in a complaint with the owner. If it is, I would make sure any website or FB page that she has, has your opinion of her ALL over it to warn other people NOT to do business with her!

Yeah it is her company- so she is basically the boss I would complain to.... I am still on the fence on whether I should paint the internet world with negative thoughts about her... But I always end up feeling sorry for people I shouldn't 
So I might just forget her and move on.

I'd see the work that her assistants have done and if you like it then request a better discount. However,if you are even a slightest bit leery of them, i would definitely find someone else. These are your wedding pictures and they can't be fixed or replaced so you definitely want to find someone you'd trust and be happy with.
The new photographer sounds really promising! Mine also offered to drive about 45 minutes to meet us, which was really nice. And you get all that for less than the original photographer? Score! Plus I took a look at her website and her work looks really nice.

I'm so sorry about the photographer. What she is doing is very unprofessional. She did have a contract with you already and to try to change it on you, last minute on a very popular date. I'd be furious too.
I really like the pictures on the Crystal Lee website. She looks like a really good photographer.
