Disney with a Southern Twist- Tomber 11.11.11 UPDATE: BLOGGED & LIFE!! 1/24!

Awesome, awesome, AWESOME. It's almost like it was meant to be! I'm seriously so happy for you girlie!

18 HOURS?! That's crazy! I'm trying to talk my photographer into coming along with me from the moment that I wake up in the morning to the hair salon and such... I just think it would be really cool to have. But we'll see! ;D

So happy for you! Miss you mucho my sister from another mister. <3

Phew!!! :worship: Thank goodness, I was starting to get nervous for you, but the world works in weird ways--so maybe this was just meant to happen! I'm glad the photographer was awesome! So happy for you!!!

That is great!! So glad you found a photographer that seems so much better than the first one!

I am so glad that the photographer workd out for you. That is one big thing to cross off the list. And like everyone said it is like everything happened for a reason.

Fantastic!!! I'm so happy everything is turning out okay!!!

Yay!!! Well it sounds like it's perfect!!! I'm so glad it worked out!!!!

Thanks Girls!!! :grouphug:

She is super awesome and I am so glad I found her and I think she is going to fit perfectly for what I want!!

However.... after speaking with my "other photographer who shall no longer be named" she said she would mail my deposit check back on Wednesday of last week.... and yes, I know it is only Saturday.... but we live in the same zipcode so I should have gotten it on Thursday....Friday at the latest!! If it is not in the mail on Saturday- we are going to have some problems! :lmao:

SO I just had to make a quick post online tonight!!

I did a little purchasing these last couple of days, so I just had to share!!

I went ahead and ordered our toasting flutes! They aren't Disney related- but I just thought they were so cute and they just stand out for me. I got them from Amazon yesterday, so I should be getting them tomorrow! (yay for DF's Amazon Prime account!! :woohoo:)

I also had been looking at a cake serving set and DF actually decided on these!

So I manged to stalk ebay and found one that had a lower bid that ended today... so I sniped it with 2 minutes left and nabbed a great deal! Not super sturdy or heavy I am sure, but they were too cute to pass up! :goodvibes

Also I talked with a potential Minister today- and I think we are going to book him. He is very reasonable and is willing to mix and match ceremonies and basically whatever makes us happy, he is willing to change and edit to our liking. I would still like to meet him, but in the mean time I will most likely still be booking him by the end of the week. AND he doesn't need a deposit... so that is a nice change! We talked on the phone for a good 45 minutes. Small world- he actually used to live several houses down from me in my old neighborhood in MB... AND I know his wife who is a teacher at the old school I used to teach at, so what are the chances of that?

ALSO--- STILL have not gotten my deposit from SHE WHO WILL NOT BE NAMED... :scared1: She sent me a text message yesterday and said she forgot to put it in the mail AGAIN... :headache:

I did go back to MB last weekend and got the two containers for our sand ceremony, and a few little odds and ends.

I am going to TRY to do a mock up of my invitations soon and I was messing around with the Mickey head centerpieces earlier today. I think instead of that shiny silver stuff I am going to use artificial white carnations in the bottom- so I will try to nab a picture of those when I get them looking half way decent to get your opinions!!

I have a long day tomorrow, so I can't stay up too late! :sad2: We have inventory on Thursday at my store, so we are trying to get ready, so I am looking at a 15-16 hour day tomorrow... BLECH!

Thank goodness my family vacation to Tampa is less than two weeks away!! :worship:

15-16 hours??? :scared1: YIKES!!!

Anyways, LOVE the flutes! And the cake serving set!

I think I might would drive to the photographers house and get my deposit back!!! She should have put that on top of her priority list!!!

That work shift sounds killer. I'll have to send you a text or 2 to make you smile!

Love the flutes! Love the serving set! I need to find one that I like, but have yet to find one worthy haha. But those I may have to stalk down!

I think the carnations would be great in the base of the centerpieces!

And beat that lady up if you don't get your money before vacation! That's just ridiculous! agree with Kristi about going to get it and it being her first priority. I say all 3 of us show up at her doorstep!

I love everything that you bought! Those flutes are really cute, I haven't seen any like that yet. The minister sounds like a good choice - small world!

As for your ex-photographer, how unreliable and disappointing. Maybe it was a good thing that she backed out on you or you might have had even more problems down the road!

Good luck with your work shift. That sounds rough... but at least there's Florida to look forward to! We are leaving for our trip to Florida in about two and a half weeks :)

Yeah for getting a photographer! I checked out the website and her work looks lovely congratz! I love all your details especially the cake serving set, so cute:cutie:

5 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha yeah, that shift was brutal... :scared1:

Thanks Girly!!! :) I am in love with my choices for the flutes and serving set!! :lovestruc

Ummm.. yeah.. "she who shall not be named" finally decided to mail my deposit a WEEK AFTER she said she was going to put it in the mail... so glad I am done with her!

Hahaha... thanks seeeesta! :) I think it is funny that you need to find a "worthy" serving set... haha

I put together a rough mock-up of the centerpieces, and they look much better than the silver stuff- so I will have to post some pictures soon and get your opinion!

HAHA.. I was SO close to calling her and demanding my deposit back- but I got it after awhile... Still debating on putting some negative reviews up about her... :surfweb:

AHHHHHHHHHH!!! Wedding TWIN!! It is already July!!! We are closing in on the 4 MONTH MARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:dance3::scared1::rotfl::worship::banana::woohoo::yay:

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

I am so sorry!!!!!!! I have been a bad bride!!! I can't believe it has almost been a month since I last updated!!!

Sadly though nothing much has really changed on the wedding front since my last update.

We did go ahead and book our minister so that is all set and I am very happy with the choice!! :) I am still a little weary only because I haven't met him yet- but I hope to meet him at some point prior to the big day- on my one of I am sure many weekend trips back to MB before November!

My main focus is now working on my centerpieces and start really cracking down on my invitations! I was going to send them out 2 months prior to the wedding- but I am wondering if I should send them out in August instead? Or would September be enough time?

I need to start sending some follow up emails to all my vendors:

*DJ needs a play list and I need to ask him about doing our ceremony music,
*I need to get in contact with our venue and clarify some more details about the reception as well as ask some catering questions and bar stuff, and try to set up a tasting for the reception menu since we are customizing it.
*Contact the photographer and try to schedule an engagement session and decide on album details
*Contact the bakery about a trial run of the mickey cupcakes and the top tier of the cake- and arrange a tasting
*I called about my dress and it was supposed to be in late May or June- and still nothing yet, so they are going to call the Designer and find out an ETA for my dress so I can do my first fitting and see all my jewelry and shoes together.

It has been crazy busy at work lately and finally this Thursday I will have my first day off during the week in a long while- so much to get accomplished!!

I did have some sad news prior to our family vacation- my sister in law was about 5-6 weeks pregnant and we were all extremely excited- but she ended up having a miscarriage about 2 weeks before our trip- so that was kind of a shock and so sad to see! :sad2:

ON a happier note- I did go on vacation to Tampa this last week and it was so much fun!! We drove down to Jacksonville with my family and stayed the night and then made our way to Tampa Airport to pick up my other family from Texas. We rented a beach house right on the bay, and it was gorgeous!

Every year each couple gets to stay in the master suite of all the houses we rent each year- and DF and I got the chance to stay in the master this year! It was so awesome!! :goodvibes

We had a salt water pool and dolphins coming right up to the house almost daily. We went kayaking in the ocean, which now DF insists we need a kayak- we both fell in love with it! We went to a Tampa Rays game and look who I found!

The boys (brother, DF, 2 male cousins) made the journey to Orlando to experience Harry Potter!!! We went ahead and splurged and got the 2 park pass for a single day. I am used to staying onsite at Universal and using the room key as a fast pass, so having to pay that much for a single ticket and wait in lines...:scared1: haha needless to say I was spoiled before!!

But we got up at 4:30 am that morning, left around 5:30- got to the parks around 7- bought our tickets and then ran through the gates at 8:00!! We hit Potter world first..... and... I was truly in heaven. It was truly awe-inspiring and so like the books and the details... I LOVED it.

We spent a good portion of the morning there and oh... just happened to run into these handsome young fellows...

James and Oliver Phelps! Also known as the Weasley Twins!! Not a big deal!!! :cloud9:

They were filming something so they weren't very interactive with the crowd, but it was still awesome to see them!! My cousin who is like 6'5 just happened to say, "what's that crowd- ah, it the Weasley twins..." Me- WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????? *RUNS TOWARDS THE CROWD*

It was awesome. We all fell in love with the Butterbeer... SO good... I think we had like 3 each? :lmao: The frozen was truly delicious.. :goodvibes DF and I actually googled some recipes and made our own Butterbeer last night... it was good!!

Overall it was an awesome trip- and my Texas family booked the tickets to come back this way for my wedding in NOVEMBER... which is now closing in on a little more than 4 MONTHS AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

I will be back with many updates soon so stay tuned!! :surfweb:

Your trip looks like it was fun! The wizarding world was awesome, and we enjoyed some butterbeer too ;)

Looking forward to seeing your invitations! We sent ours out in mid June - so it was about 2 and a half months before. I think either way, August or September, you should be fine. We made our RSVP date August 3rd to give us a month before the wedding to track down everyone who didn't RSVP, so doing it in mid June gave enough time in between there.

Awww yay glad you guys had a great time! And I waaaaaaaant some butterbeer!

Ahhh!!! So much fun you had, so jealous of you girl!

GAH YOU SAW THE WEASLEY TWINS?!?!? THAT IS SO COOL!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad you had fun! :D

I had a great time!! Thanks girls!! :goodvibes I am getting my fill of Harry Potter by re-watching the whole series before Friday... what I am I going to do once they are over!?!? :scared1:

We did a little bit of wedding stuff this weekend- we were able to go by Men's Warehouse and get an idea of what we wanted and the colors and such! I didn't realize tuxes were so expensive! Even just to rent!! But luckily we found a $40 off coupon so we will be applying that to our groomsman which will bring down the price a little bit!! The guy we talked to was a newer associate so he really didn't know that much- which I was kind of hoping for some insight on the color palette and how to make the groomsman stand apart from the best man/ man of honor... but alas, he didn't really help much. :sad2: So I am going to have to enlist you girls to help and re-think how I want everyone to look!

I think I have decided to have Thomas is all teal (tie and vest) and black tux with white shirt- and then after that I am lost for everyone else! I debated maybe using bow-ties to make them stand out a little more? Or maybe just using bow-ties for just the best man and man of honor... and just have them have the same colors, but the ties can distinct them? SO for example!

What do you think?

Also we were on a roll! So we had found a ring we both loved online and went to see if we could find it in-store! DF tried on a couple of rings and we got him measured to make sure of his ring rize! The ring we liked wasn't in stock by the sales rep said he would try to find it- so hopefully we will be able to see it in person! IF not, I am thinking of ordering this by the end of the week!!

7.0mm black ceramic style features a tungsten inlay with a brick design

I just thought it was so unique and combined all of the elements we liked! :goodvibes

Nothing else really on the wedding front! Still churning out centerpieces, so hopefully will get those squared away! AND finally going to get the invites pieced together! Going to stop by the post office on my next day off and get it weighed to see if I can get by with one stamp! :lmao:

I will post my invites soon and going to make my earrings on Thursday too!

And on a final note....

4 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Yay 4 months!! We are all getting so much closer!
And his ring looks sooooo much like Brians. Great taste :thumbsup2
Love the second tux's and the colors! And yes, they are waaaay too expensive!
