Wednesday 11th January
Early start, ready for our 7am breakfast! ek!
It was quieter in there today, but still people coming in & by the end of our breakfast it was filling up well- everyone up for EMH no doubt.
We got the same kind of thing for breakfast, had a good selection to keep me going (when do I ever now!?!) and made our rolls for the park again.
Our suitcase was ready & packed so we posted our key to check out and handed our suitcase into the baggage room *our last day! SOB!*

To the park we trotted, and as this was our first experience of Disney accommodation, it was also the first for EMH!
It was very weird still being dark, and in general felt a lot colder than the past two days- this carried on most of the day, even though the sun was shining well for us.
We got to main street and loved how quiet it was, we weren't the first in by any means (probably about 8.10am by now) but it was still lovely. We took some photos, and made our way around my favourite route- through the castle and around Fanstyland

I think going up there & seeing it is a must, make sure you do it, it's just lovely I really do adore this castle. The blue is so vibrant and pretty. :)

We of course tried to pull the sword from the stone, but no luck! :headache:

CONT...

We walked around Fantasyland for a little while, did the teacups which I enjoyed rather a lot! and then made our way to Discoveryland for Buzz

Of course Sam had an amazingly good score on Buzz, and mine was just dreadful! I need training, Buzz training is NEEDED. We went to go on SM but it was out of action and not working at the moment, we grabbed fast passes for later (not that we needed them as it was 5min wait all day) and did another round of buzz. Nothing changed, I sat on the other side and everything, but no! Apparently I just hit NOTHING!

We walked around some more, went and got a coffee & hot chocolate and just took the quietness in. Really we could have come for 9am for EMH, but I'm still glad we experienced it really early. I think the thought of it being our last day, and feeling tired already just didn't help.
Nicely warmed up we headed for rope drop in the other areas. We were met with what seemed like everyone, trying to get to one place- BTM. Took about 10mins if that, and it is just a fab ride. It's Disney for sure. We then headed over to Indiana Jones, Sam really enjoys this (I swear he's getting a ride junkie- the boy that doesn't like coasters!) I'm not a huge fan of it though, it's fine, but then it's just over & the theming isn't fab.
Headed to space at this point, and was very much a walk on- woo!

We made our way around the park, going in things we hadn't before, and looking at different places.
We had some more photos taken at the castle- you really can never have too many & we went down to see the dragon

We saw Mickey 'wake up' close his front door, and stretch to see the morning
Hi Mickey! :yay: 2nd in line again- woo!

At this time we decided to pop over to the other park, where we were greeted by Minnie :cheer2: With a line too, so I of course queued up to see her.

CONT....

We headed to do Rock n roller coaster again, grabbed some food (chicken burger meal again) and headed to watch Animagique. I really enjoyed this show, shame you're not allowed to take photos though :sad1: I think Sam just happy to be inside and sat down for a little while.
We had a look through the shops, and played in the art of animation but before the Stars in Cars Parade started. This time I did get a good spot! WOO! Shame the parade isn't as good though.

The little girl in front of me was dressed up as Jessie, so I got a fab photo of her & Woody waving at the girl (They were really waving at me!)

We were now happily finished with this park, and headed back to Disneyland Park to see the castle one last time. There was a train pulling up as we got in, so as we had time to spare we thought we'd take a ride around the park. Not as good as WDW for sure, but it was nice to go on it.

One more hot chocolate (free with the offer on the bill) and we made our way out of the park! Taking in as much as the castle as I could, I feel sad leaving it, even now when I'm writing this!

Sam picked where to eat this afternoon, and Planet Hollywood it was. Was so quiet eating at this time. Our server was lovely, she had to handle rude people on the table behind us, and she did it very well!

I had the LA Lasagna, that looked amazing, but wasn't all that good! & Sam had the turkey club sandwich was looked yummy & apparently was

Totally stuffed, and hydrated enough (two soft drinks each) we paid the bill (50Euro) and made our way back to Santa Fe to pick up our suitcase.

On the way back to the station we popped into EoS to get one each for the journey back (I know we've just eaten, but we will be hungry in the near future- I promise you!) We thought we'd get these rather than a packed on, as they were so yummy & pretty good value for money too.
We had a little wait at the station, and the eurostar again was easy and fine.
From Lille to home was a half sleep state, but nothing to report really

Eurostar is the way to go!

Overall thoughts & feelings
I truly loved DLP, and it has won me over very well. I love it!
We had fab weather (for January) the sun shone, and it was not 'freezing' by any means. The lines were quick, and we hardly had to queue for much. The crowds were obviously good to, and coming at this time was a good pick (and cheaper) than the week before.
I loved seeing the big Christmas tree up on our first day, but at the same time I think they were over doing the other decorations a bit- taken them down now, no, really, now!

Next time we come I'd like at LEAST 3 nights, but I'd push for 4. Also I think the summer period (or just before) would be more for us too- even though I am looking at NYE this year as I will be 25 on New Years day
I would have liked an evening show/parade, as I think it gives it more of a special feeling.

Santa Fe was fine, it needs a good update from the outside- there's no water where there should be and it just doesn't look it's best. The rooms however were nice, and just what we needed & the breakfast was good. I think we'd look to stay some where else next time, even if it was Cheyenne, although I'd obv push for NPB or DLH

Smoking in the park wasn't obvouisly noticeable, didn't go out the way to bother me anyway- unless you were standing outside the buzz entry trying fast to finish your cigeratte with child in hand!

Next time we'd also get the straight Euro star there & back if we could, stopping at Lille wasn't really a problem. But would just be easier and nicer if we didn't have to.

One thing I HATE about DLP
The character lines, or lack of them! WDW has a huge thumbs up for me on that, and I just wonder why DLP don't do it. I saw many characters without them, and I just think it's a shame. It's just something I really dislike- but that's because I do like a cheeky photo with the characters.

Thank you Disneyland Paris
We WILL be back- see ya real soon

: wavey:
:dance3:
Thanks to all that have read my trip report- please come say hi & comment!

Have loved reading and seeing your photos on DLP.

We have been many many times to DLP since it's first anniversary! The last time we went was 2006 and tbh we hated every second of it and said never again. We thought the parks were both untidy, chewing gum everywhere, people were rude, que-ing was non exsistant, people ignored the no smoking signs and even smoked in line, the food was dreadful and very expensive, the cast members were unhelpful, the room in the Sequoia lodge was in a bad way, etc etc etc...we just couldn't believe how bad it had become after so many times where it was good. We had noticed the gradual decline but was hopeful that they would do something about it. :confused3

BUT.....after reading your report and seeing the photo's perhaps they have now bucked themselves up and maybe its time we gave them another chance. :thumbsup2 So thank you for that. I shall be working on the DH, trying to convert him to give it another go.:)

Aw well thank you for reading
It seems a few things with DLP with always come up such as the smoking, the rudeness and it just not being as 'together' as WDW. however I did truly enjoy myself, and nothing but the character lines really bugged me.
Our room at Santa Fe was fine, although the building does need a new life given to it

I hope you do give it another go, let me know
:)

I like your photos :thumbsup2 there are some spots I even didn't see in DLP on our visit. Definitely will go for them this time :goodvibes
