Hello Cruisers!
Just returned a few weeks ago from my first trip on the Disney Wish. I don't have a lot of great things to say, but let me preface this by saying I have been on a total of 9 Disney cruises, so this is coming from past experiences (all of which were AMAZING).

I booked at GTY Navigator's Verandah on a Florida Resident rate. Two rooms total with 5 family members. I have booked this rate before as well as the cast member rate (family friend). This was the worst room location we have received out of all 9 cruises. It was a slight upgrade from the navigator verandah, but we had a view of a yellow lifeboat on deck 6 (I prefer higher), forward (I'd prefer anything but forward) and portside (least desirable). This was actually my first time ever being on the port side- so you miss all the great views at Castaway. Not to mention, our room faced the hallway and elevators, so every time you open the door, you risk someone walking by and seeing right through the room to the balcony.
I believe the ship was filled to capacity, so that might be why.

Walking onto the ship, the main hallway immediately felt smaller than the Fantasy and Dream. The ceilings felt lower. Walking into the room was the same. The ceilings felt sooooo low. Also, there was hardly any space to walk around the bed to get to the back of the room. There were spaces around the ship that seemed like it needed fresh paint or repair- nothing major, but I thought that was strange being on an almost new ship. The tile in the shower was chipped. The rug next to the balcony door was ripping away from the wall/floor. I found that really odd. I've been on the Magic and haven't seen things like this.

On a positive note, I did like the extra storage and thoughtful details in the room, like the ambiance lighting near the balcony, and the makeup light on the mirror over the desk. We did miss the storage table in front of the couch. My son always uses that area for his things.

I loved the theme of the ship and the really cool lounge areas! It was fun to explore. I know some people don't like the layout of the ship. I didn't at first, (compared to Dream/Fantasy), but I got used to it by day 2 and it was fun exploring all the nooks and crannies. :)

Now, for our service team. WOW. I have never had such bad service anywhere. They were nice enough, and I guess they were trying, but they got EVERY order wrong. Literally. We were constantly having to wait for them to show up to give us the correct food and/or drink order. We were only a table of 5. I am not sure what was going on there. Since it was a packed ship, maybe they were just overwhelmed? We weren't even asking for special items, dietary preferences or anything! Just right off the menu and every time it was wrong! Twice on a THREE night cruise by the way, one of our meals was late to the table because of a "kitchen mishap". It was so strange.

Marceline Market was disappointing compared to Cabanas. Where is the outside seating????? Where are all the amazing food choices? I am not a picky eater and I walked away with a small salad and a few shrimp. I think I ate more dessert at lunch than real food. LOL

As for the restaurants in general, I did like the themes, but the noise level was off the charts!!!!! Again, I have been on 9 DISNEY cruises and have never experienced this. We could barely have a conversation amongst ourselves.

Based on this experience, I will not be sailing on the Wish again.

One last thing. In Nassau, we chose the Nassau by Land and Sea port adventure. The first part, getting out on a catamaran and exploring the harbor and beautiful mansions owned by Oprah and other celebs was really fun. The tour guide was AMAZING and hilarious.
The second part, was a short bus tour of Nassau with 2 stops. It really was unnecessary. The stops were not up to Disney caliber. One was the queens staircase- very steep and lots of tourists. The second was across the street from Atlantis. You'd have to walk a good distance to see it and by the time you get there, its time to turn around. He left us in front of a small strip mall. We just got a drink and waited to get back on the bus. I would rather have ended the tour after the catamaran.

I am going to say it is odd to complain about a room that was technically an upgrade with no real issues besides preference that was gotten at a major discount.

Also Nassau offers just Catamaran experience via DCL (N14). If you did not want to do the other parts of the tour (and those stops were listed in the Port Adventure description), I am surprised you booked that excursion.

Which is why I prefaced my whole review by saying I have had lots of amazing experiences. Even with cast member discounts, this was the worst room we have been given. Maybe I was just lucky the other 8 times; we've gotten the extra large wrap around balcony and received a family stateroom with verandah on other cruises.
As far as the excursion, I did want to do the tour. I am giving my opinion, that the second part of the excursion was not up to Disney standards and didn't offer anything worth while. That is all.
