Has anyone ever gone to Disneyworld while pregnant? Was it still a good time? What rides can't a pregnant woman go on?

Thanks for the help...

DW and I went when she was 3 months. Had a terrific time. We knew that she would not be able to ride anything strenuous but there is plenty else to do. We stayed away from the mountains in MK, TOT and RRC at MGM, and Dinosaur at AK. TT at EPCOT is iffy and MS is a definite no-no from the reports I have read. Most of the other rides should be pretty safe.

PS you might want to avoid simulator rides. That most likely depends on your personal tolerance level. I know pregnancy can play havoc with these things.

DW will be 5 months with #2 this February we when return. We actually rescheduled our annual trip due to her due date.

I went to Disney while pg. I was at a conference and DH came along. He went on the rides and I'd wait in line and decide how serious the warnings were! I did adhere but did a couple like the safari ride at AK.

The worst part was not being able to enjoy wine with dinner!

DH got to jump ahead a few times as a single rider so he didn't mind. It was in May so the lines were short anyway.

I did not feel as if I missed out on anything. I do love Space Mountain and roller coasters in general but I was able to enjoy other aspects of Disney.

Have a great time

I will be going this March at 25 weeks, and it looks like another one of our family members will also be pregnant at that time. :D (and if my sister reads this, she needs to SSSShhhhhhhhh)

I do plan on doing the Safari, but requesting to ride up front of the bus. I don't think I will do any of the thrill rides at all. I have really thought about Splash Mountain because I don't think its all that big of a deal but my husband on the other hand may FLIP if I say I want to do it. I figure at this point there are a few guests with our group that will not be riding thrill rides, so I will have someone to hang out with.

The Families board had a really good pregnancy thread but I can't seem to find it now. Maybe you can do a search for it.

I am wanting to do the pregnancy massage at the Grand Floridian. A bit pricey but I think it will be nice after a morning of walking the parks. I also am thinking of renting an ECV when we do AK and Epcot the day we do World Showcase. It just depends on how I feel.

I went one June when I was 6 months pregnant. I had a great time. The heat didn't really bother me too much. I didn't really look at what rides I could go on. We were there with our toddler, so she got to ride whatever she wanted with mom and dad. She wasn't much of a thrill rider at 2, so we pretty much just went on whatever she wanted-which was mostly Dumbo, Pooh, etc. Our trip was for her that year. There are lots of places to sit and rest when you need to. If you are going in the summer, there are lots of nice air conditioned sit down places to rest. I had a great time.

I was there while 28 weeks preganant, and I still had a great time. Granted I had been before, too, so had done most of the things previously. I have found from family and friends that sometimes people are "disappointed" in Disney World because they think of it as full of adventerous rides, when in fact there is more entertainment and attractions. So, you will still have plenty to enjoy.

The only piece of advice I have is to watch out for those people who don't watch where they are going, think they own the road or are just plain rude. My protruding belling was bumped quite a few times!

Wife was 7.5 months pregnant once. She stayed away from the better rides. I puhsed her in a wheelchair with our oldest on my shoulders.

Did you walk the parks the entire time or did you rent an ECV or wheelchair at anytime?

I went in early Dec. at about 30 weeks. Didn't miss the thrill rides cuz there's lots to do in addition to them. I did go on the AK safari, that wasn't too bumpy. Just don't overdo it like I did - we hit all 4 parks in two twelve hour days. By the end of the second day I was trying to hold up my stomach with my hands towards the end, and I developed some swelling in an area I hadn't heard about (use your imagination) that persists to this day (although that may have just been cuz this is my second).

Go and enjoy it, so long as you're less then 34 weeks along (that's what my Dr. said was the cutoff they recommended).

I walked the entire time. Honestly, I could not imagine having to use a wheelchair or any other assistance just because I was having a normal pregnancy but had to walk a little more than usual. However, I stayed somewhat fit both before and during my pregnancy, so it may have been easier for me. If you don't walk some already, you could consider starting now to help with the extra walking. I think it is completely do-able without assistance, especially with the breaks to take in attractions/rides or shows.

I have gone to WDW SEVERAL times while pregnant! I have 3 daughters and I'm a disney addict! I have been at 2 months, 4 months,6,months,71/2 months. All the trips were just as good as they were when I wasn't pregnant! Just be sure to rest when needed, drink lots of water and if at all possible stay onsite to make it easier for napping! All that walking makes you very tired(as if being pregnant isn't tiring enough)!!! Don't worry it will be fine and you'll have a good time!

i've been twice while pregnant. once at 8wks with my first and this past june at 6months (oy it was hot!) and toting a 2yr old.

water is probably the most important thing you should do while there. buy a water bottle and keep on chugging, dehydration is very dangerous to pregnant women. also i don't think anyone mentioned that water slides are off limits to pregnant women.

while in line for pooh a couple came up to a cm and said 'my wife is pregnant can she go to the front of the line? she can't wait in long lines." (this woman was not even showing yet) i nearly bust my big pregnant gut laughing. the kind cm did not laugh but merely stated 'sir there are many pregnant women in the magic kingdom today, they do not get special treatment'.

Yes, I have gone to DW at 6 months pregnant and loved it. Of course I had to drink a lot of water and avoid the rides that are not safe for pregnant people, but I had a blast. There is so much to do at Disney pregnant or not, that it is fun anyway. I also noticed quite a few other pregnant women as well. Kim
