I am not at all sure if this is where I should post this or not. My daughter is planning to get married at WDW:yay: Ok that being said YES I am TOTALLY thrilled. They are hoping to get married in January 2010 at Yacht and Beach Club. I am wondering if anyone in here has pictures of either their wedding or possibly one y9ou attended at this resort?? All of us have been on the Disney Wedding Web Site looking around at pictures in there and we have some ideas. BUT.....my daughter is SO ANAL....SUCH A PLANNER... I would love to see someother pictures and possibly be able to send them on to her so she could see some.

She has had such questions as....how wide is the isle can my attendants walk down two by two?? Yeah I know. She called today and is in the system at Disney but cannot actually start planning until 12 months out. She is going to make both herself and me crazy in the next 18 months......PLEASE any help out there???????

Welcome!

This site has pictures of many WDW wedding locations, including the Yacht Club Gazebo:

Although she can't sign a contract until 12 or 8 months out, depending on location, your daughter should be able to begin working with a Wedding Consultant about 18 months out to schedule a site visit and get basic information. Sometimes you just have to call Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings a few times to let them know you're serious.

Happy planning! :goodvibes

Hi and welcome

I was married at The Yacht Club Gazebo and we chose that location as the YC was the first place we vacationed together and it's a special resort to us.

You can read my recaps of the wedding day (I won't bore you with the rest of the trip!) here

Deffo the aisle is big enough for two by two

By all means post away with other questions - this place is very handy to get information whilst you are in the wait process with Disney themselves :)

Congrats to your daughter and yay for her choosing a Disney Wedding :)

THANK YOU for the pictures I am going to send Megan and Rene (bride and groom) the link to this so they can read along. Actually I should have her get in here and goin so she can ask you all of her questions, but for now you have me....She has had me call Disney a couple times. She and Rene live in Dallas, Texas so the time thing is a bit of an issue since they are an hour behind us so I made the initial call a few weeks ago.
She called them on July 1st asking about booking for January 2010 they had told me she could call 18 months out. She was told that someone would be in contact with her. Megan told me she is "in the system" not exactly sure what that means. She is allready planning....she has picked her colors, she knows what she wants as far as flowers.

If you all don't mind I am goinna post a couple of the questions she has (yeah a list) but I won't ask them all at once about different things and see if anyone has answers.
get ready!

She has seen a menue for the "Glass Slipper Buffet Dinner" this has STATIONS like a Seafood Station, Salad Station etc. Well the last one listed is a Dessert Station. Can she get rid of the Dessert Station and have the Wedding Cake as the Dessert??? She is hoping to do this and keep the cost for food the same.....Any answer for that one??

The bar....They are thinking of having an open bar with just beer, a couple kinds of wine and maybe one Signature drink at the reception does anyone know how disney charges for this is it by consumption or hourly??

Ok those are a couple that will actually change the cost of things.

I do really appreciate any help I can get from anyone who has done this allready. I can tell that you all are going to be a BIG help in this. We have been to WDW at least 20 times and done the cruise 4 times but this wedding thins is new for all of us. My one and only daughter and she wants everything to be PERFECT!!!
Thanks again in advance

Yes, you can add to, subtract from, and customize any of the menus. Getting rid of dessert when there's cake is a great way to save money.

You can choose to pay based on consumption or to buy a package bar priced by the hour.

A great way to get answers to all your questions (and your daughter's questions) is to post a new thread for each of them. That way more people will see and and be able to help with your questions! There are so many helpful people on this board with lots of info to share :goodvibes

Lurky: I've been wondering the same thing. We're going with a much less expensive meal, it only has 3 desserts. You wouldn't happen to how about how much taking off dessert saves you?

Unfortunately only your planner will know how much each element of the menu costs and how much you'll save - but even if it's only a few dollars, it adds up when you multiply that by all your guests! :thumbsup2
