We are getting married in August in Massachusetts and are having a Disney theme wedding.

I am looking for ideas on where to add some *pixiedust*. We are doing a Mickey/Minnie cake/topper, Mickey and Minnie Bride and Groom on the head table, cake cutter, guest book.

I am looking for centerpiece ideas!!! and any other ideas you can give!

Thanks!

How about snowglobes? The Disney Store has a bunch. There are some on clearance now too. Not sure where you are in MA, but the store in Emerald Square had quite a few.

Congratulations!

How many tables are you having & do you have a budget per table?

Oh! Snowglobes would be so nice! I love them! However, that would be way out of our budget! lol

We are having 10-12 tables, we are trying to do as cheap as possible. If possible I want to make them, I plan on making the invitations as well.

One idea I had, maybe you can critique it, was to take square glass holders (about 6inx 6 in) and use potpourri ( I have some that is blue, my colors are light blue and yellow) maybe with some tealights (yellow) sitting in it, then making a mickey design around the top of the glass with fabric paint or something like that...any suggestions??

I am open to anything, even if its completely different than my idea! I am looking for something fun and different, that people will remember!

Thanks!

What about making something like a luminary but backwards, you know like the ones at halloween you put on your drive way. But make them on a glass (round or square) vase where mickey is paper and the candle is inside making a shadow on the outside. The Girl Scout in me says covering a flame is a bad idea!! You could shop clearance for the vases and make them all mixed and matched, but the mickey would tie it all together!! (I might make sure the paper was on the outside of the vase though for the same reason as not covering it!)

Just starting to get some ideas but what about a very low opened glass bowl with floating Mickey head candles.......you could sprinkle Mickey head confetti on the table tops......

We did an at home disney theme wedding...

Our centerpieces were glass bowls from the dollar store. I got crystals and glued them on in the shape of mickey heads. Then I put glass rocks in the bottom and made a Mickey mouse shaped candle. Somehow I don't have a picture of them. I do still have one at my parent's house if you want me to get a picture of it I can send it to you.

I also made my own card box. I made suckers for favors in the shape of a castle and carriage and gave cds with our wedding music and made a label from a picture we took at disney.

ETA: if you go to my report in my signature (that i STILL haven't finished) and go to page 5 you will see our unity candle and page 8 has the card box. There may be other things in there, but I am not too sure.

Red & yellow gerber daisies in a glass bowl with Mickey ears tucked within the flowers.
"Pixie dust" sprinkled around the base.

I love these ideas!!! Thanks so much!

Where can I get Mickey floating candles??? I have been looking for them because I had that same idea!! Mickey ears tucked in flowers? Sounds cute but what kind of mickey ears do you mean?

I would love a pic of the mickey candle you made!!! Do you need my email address??

Thanks again!

I had an at home wedding also! I used wire coach's that I got online and added flowers and battery operated lights to it. Then put a led candle in the middle that you could change the color on to match your colors. I can get you the website if you would like they had 3 differant sizes

We made them for a Sweet 16.....here is the ice cube tray we used as the mold. It was really simple to do~

Don't know if you were looking for a favor but I thought you might like these:

So you made the candles in the tray! I love it! You just get the candle making stuff at a craft store?

Those favors are nice but we are giving a donation to my fiance's family's cancer foundation instead of favors!

I really like the candle idea, use the wide mouth glass bowl and put something in the bottom, maybe seaglass or something (ideas here??) the I could still decorate the top edge of the bowl with mickey and use the candles!

Yes, Micheal's has the wax & wicks.
Glass stones/pebbles would be great in the bottom....the color would depend on the color you choose for the candles. At the Sweet 16 we had yellow & red floating candles.
Micheal's has the glass but you can find great deals on Ebay.

Don't rule out the snowglobes! We did them for our wedding last summer. We actually used "Wishes" as our theme. Everything was stars and fireworks and wishes! For each table we put a snowglobe and a "wish" from each movie. Obviously, full price is waaaayyy to much to spend but I was stalking the disney website for a year and a half and would buy them when they went on clearance or when they would have crazy sales. Some of them I spent $40 or $50 but i was able to get some for $20. Plus, I used gift cards, reward dollars, etc. It really ended up being way less expensive than if I went with a floral centerpiece.

Here are some of the final products!

They were a huge hit! We got the most compliments on our centerpieces. Everyone loved them!

Good luck with whatever you decide! :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh those are so cute!!!!! I wish I was that creative haha.. I LOOOOOOVE THAT!!!! (Sorry I reposted all the pics....whenever I try to edit a quote it never works out right)

OP I am going to my parents house tomorrow for dinner I will try to take a picture of one of our centerpieces and show you. I didn't make floating candles. I just got 2 different sized candles and pinned them together to make a mickey head and they sat in the bottom of the bowl. I wish I would have known you could make floating candles, that woulda been neat, but I did love mine!
