DH and I would like to buy nice Disney watches during our upcoming vacation as our major souvenirs ...In your experience, which store has the best variety and quality? World of Disney? Or maybe someplace more "boutique"-like?

We definitely want "adult" watches - nothing with plastic or nylon wrist bands. They don't have to be WDW-specific (a classy Mickey watch might suffice); we just want to purchase them while we're there.

Your input is appreciated!

DH bought a nice Mickey watch on a store on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. They had a wonderful selection, but I also know that theWorld of Disney at Downtown Disney has a great selection as well.

I think both have a great variety, but you may find a certain one in one place, and not in the other.

We did the same thing the last time we went. We found that the World of Disney store had a larger selection than the one on Main Street. I would check both then decide.:D

Last week Mousegear in EPCOT and World of Disney at Downtown Disney both had a much better selection than the watch shop on Main street in the Magic Kingdom.

I always get a watch whenever I go to Disney World, and I always seem to have the best luck at MouseGear at Epcot. The World of Disney has a good selection, but sometimes I find it too busy to get someone to help me with the high end ones, and I don't have the patience to wait.

The store on Main Street (can't remember the name of it, but it's on the right hand side when you are walking towards the castle). They have a good selection, and you can even get one of a kind watches there for $200 (I've been eyeing one of Goofy playing hockey for years, but I just can't justify spending $200 on a watch).

If memory serves me correctly, you can also get custom made watches at a store on Hollywood Blvd. at MGM.

I think you'll find them anywhere that has jewelry counter. DW got one at the store on the BW. Our friend got the same watch in the AK.

Very EXPENSIVE in Downtown Marketplace.:o Try your local Sears, JcPenny and Walmart...best prices and look just as nice.;)

Thanks everyone for your great suggestions. I'll definitely have to check out MouseGear in Epcot - we've never been there before. We'll check all the other places too, just to make sure we get the ones we like the best.

Thanks again!

World of Disney at Downtown Disney has the best selection and should have the same watches that the parks sell....Plus at the World of Disney you get a discount if you are a Disney Club member that the Parks don't offer.

I grabbed a couple of Limited Edition of 2000 watches w/figurines the last couple of times there for $85 each.

Good Luck

We always buy our watches at World of Disney. They have a very nice selection.

Last summer I bought a real nice bracelet watch in World of Disney in DTD. Was around $150.00, needless to say in less than 1 month the band broke. Also bought my dd a beautiful pair of mickey head stud earings with a saphire(sp?) stone, again a stone fell out. Is it only me who has bad luck with disney jewelry? Anyway, I never learn because when I go back in 2 weeks I'll buy another piece of something, and sure enough it'll break again.

I just did the same thing this week while we were at WDW! I wanted a nice watch that I could wear with suits, but that had some sort of WDW connection. We looked all over, and I felt the store that had the best selection for what I wanted was Once Upon a Time on Hollywood Blvd at MGM. I found just what I wanted - it has a nice gold band, a simple white face, and in the 12 position there's a tiny gold Mickey head.

I have small wrists, so they had to size it for me. We rode TOT and RocknRoller Coaster and had lunch while they sized it, and it was ready in 2 hours.

It would be very cool if there was a site that listed all the different disney watches, sort of like pinpics but for watches. I looked on the net but couldn't find such a list. Anyone know of one?

do a search on ebay, you'll find alot of them!! you will even be surprised at how many of them are brand new!;)

There is a Disney site for watches. My brother found it last Fall and bought my DD a beautiful Tinkerbell (very adult - not childish) with her name written on the face. And he bought me a lovely Winnie that plays the Pooh song when you press a tiny button. He bought himself a great Pirates of the Caribean watch, also.

He said there was a bazillion to choose from! I swear he said he just went on the Disney site. Maybe DisneyStore.com?

I get a couple watches every trip and its a custum to only buy them in the watch shop on main st usa I love the feeling of buying a watch right from the MK. All the disney stores in the parks and downtown sell the pretty much the same watchs for the same prices so its just a choice of where to make your purchase. Hope this help. I am leaving tommorow for the WL so I will be buying more this week myself :-):D :Pinkbounc . Have fun

I did try the Disneystore site but they actually only have 34 watches listed. What I was actually looking for is a site that shows the history of the Disney watch designs and pictures of what has been available in the last ten years or so. I would have thought that there would be a collector's site since many of the older watches have considerable value. Well, I guess there's a market out there for another collector's book, huh? :)

I read somewhere that in MK you can have your picture taken, then take that picture and have it put on the face of the watch you buy. Has anyone done this?

If so, what did this cost? What type of watches do you have to choose from?

We are thinking of doing it this year, but wanted to find out more.

This is true I see it done a couple weeks ago when I was at the MK watch store. I believe the price is $100.00.
